I'm making a crochet guinea pig with this cheap dollar store yarn that looks vaguely agouti. I'm stuck on the ears and feet though. I know a lot of people do ears with the same body yarn, but it was looking too big and thick to me, even when I tried to get more of a wavy shape rather than a round bear ear shape, and well guinea pigs aren't furry like the rest of them. I have this other thin brown yarn, which I can adjust the shape of better and get thinner ears (final shape not pictured, that was just the foot prototype tacked onto the head to see what it might look like). The thinner brown might look more like thinner guinea pig ears, though it's not quite the right colour. And I wasn't liking the little blobby stumps for feet so I thought maybe I could use the thinner yarn to make proper feet with toes, though again the colour isn't quite right.

I'm wondering what guinea pig people's thoughts are! Fuzzy matching ears with little stump feet? Fuzzy ears but thin yarn for defined toes? Thin yarn for ears and toes? I wish I had darker thin yarn but I'm not going out to buy yarn just for this.

Another alternative could be felt ears but I'm not sure I can attach them nicely and I don't think they'd make good feet so I'd still wonder about those.

These ears are just little tests and placeholders, I'm still figuring out the shape.

I'm not sure what the best colour/yarn is for this guinea pig I'm making. I feel like the one from chenille yarn matching the body is just too big, the thin brown one isn't quite the right shade, and the pink one isn't very accurate to what guinea pigs of that colour look like. I'm also thinking about the feet as well. I planned to do the feet with the thin brown yarn so I could make toes rather than just blobby stump. Now I'm second guessing myself. I did the nose/mouth with black because the brown just didn't work out well, it was getting lost.

So what do people (particularly guinea pig owners) think?

I've knit most of a sweater for a plush. The original intent was to make long sleeves, but seeing it now I'm kind of digging the short sleeved look. I just don't know how to finish short sleeves like this. Being a beginner, I have no idea what would look good though. I don't really want them getting much longer, but they currently aren't even attached at the bottom, so I assume I'll need to knit at least another row or two. I don't know what would look good on this smaller scale, so I come to you for recommendations. Thanks!

I haven't crocheted in a very long time and I'm just getting into it again. This is the beginning of a snake. It says chain 2, and then sc 6 into the first chain. It doesn't look very good with the right side out though. I already made another one the other day and it didn't have the same problem (or it was much less obvious). The kids have made that one disappear though so I can't take a look right now to compare. I'm quite sure the hole was smaller though. Is this normal or have a done something wrong, and how do I prevent it?

Someone was selling this but it's too small for us so I was wondering if I could find the yarn used. I asked the seller but the person who made it passed away.
