He lay motionless, just listening to the mosquito as it hummed around him.

He caught it between his hand and the lid inches from his face, but as its humming stopped, the silence left him alone with the sound of his own desperate breaths.

Father's Day gifts bringing the 80s vibe

I've been looking forward to giving Impossible Mission a play for a while now - as a big fan of Zillion I'm keen to see how it was influenced by IM.

SCI, Chase HQ 2, revied pretty well on the home micros and in the arcades but the SMS port is... fair to middling according to the magazines of the time. If it simply offers more Chase HQ I'll be happy so fingers crossed.

North Stand banter! Lions to split away end into two as they look to maximise home support.

I for one welcome this bold move 😅

It's not often I give credit to other football subs but this is r/championship quality post-season posting.

Battle of the birds. Love it.

Kenny Jackett, one of my favourite Millwall managers, has passed away at the age of 64

Millwall Football Club is extremely saddened to announce the passing of former manager Kenny Jackett at the age of 64.

Kenny managed over 300 games during his time with the club, leading The Lions to promotion from League One and to an FA Cup Semi-Final.

Rest in peace, Kenny.

Here are some Sonic toys I pulled from a 1992 Christmas cracker

It was Christmas of '92 and we managed to convince our mum that she didn't want crackers with boring nail clippers, mini tape measures, or a pocket size deck of playing cards... she wanted Sonic The Hedgehog crackers!

Now I suspect she never wanted crackers with Sonic toys, badges, and whatnot - but she bought them anyway.

To our credit we didn't pull them until Christmas day but we did get to keep the prizes irrespective of who won. I guess the other adults we're not quite into Sonic. 😅

Each character (Sonic, Tails, and Dr. Robotnik) has two different sculpts - I'd say Robotnik and Sonic are a little more interesting than Tails.

Well here they are. All 6 of them.

Todays purchases are brought to you by the letters S, E, G and A

In a bid to move closer to a full PAL Saturn set milestone I decided to jump in and purchase three games to get me to the 60% mark. Krazy Ivan has always intrigued me and yet somehow I've never pulled the trigger on a copy. Well this one popped up for a decent price which I then combined with Robotica for some postage savings too. It will be interesting to see just how these shape up against other Saturn first person games... although I suspect they are unlikely to dethrone the Lobotomy games. Earthworm Jim 2... its more Jim. I'll happily take more Jim.

As for the MS and MD games... I stumbled into an ebay seller who was pricing a little erratically. I bought Wonder Boy III and Paperboy for a very good price and then checked if there was anything else in the pipeline. As a result I was able to secure Boogerman and Shinobi for less than the market price of Boogerman alone. I'm really pleased with each of these and have dedicated this evening to getting stuck into Boogerman 🤪

Roadside haul

Was driving home with my brother-in-law when we spotted 2 crates and a suitcase sitting by the side of the road packed to the gills with DVDs.

We brought them home and have picked through to fill the holes in our collection.

This is my keep pile and I'm delighted.

So I've got the drinks and snacks sorted and we're watching The Last Boy Scot first (look, I haven't seen it before alright?!) but what should we watch next?

Southwark, Tower Hamlets, and City of London Square Mile residents can visit the Tower Bridge experience for just £1

Took up the chance to do some touristing today and had a family trip to the Tower Bridge experience.

The tour offers impressive views along the river, coupled with the chance to learn a little more about the design, construction, and history of what has to be one of the most iconic bridges in the world.

The glass walkway was polarising with some people reveling in the chance to float above the world below and others s**ting a brick 😅

Best of all...

Southwark, Tower Hamlets or City of London Square Mile residents can visit the Tower Bridge experience for just £1 (proof of address and photo ID required).

...and there we were thinking we'd done well to miss Southampton and get Hull instead in the playoffs

Ha ha ha

What a shit show!

Now assuming we'd been given place in the final like 'Boro...

Do you think we'd have won at Wembley against either Hull or 'Boro?

Good Morning, Vietnam

It's been a few years since I last watched Good Morning, Vietnam and after having been set the challenge to find a war film that those with me would enjoy I thought I'd try something a little different from what any of them would expect.

End result... a resounding win.

Williams here is he usual funny self, accents, goofball comedy, high energy antics, edgy laughs... but there is a humanity he shows at times here that serves to reveal that he was more than a comedy actor.
