TLDR: Paid money to own some gaming stuff.

This week's haul is... eclectic. Which is nice as it helps to ensure I spread my focus across my collection.

First up... Sabre Wulf. Originally an 8 bit home computer game by Ultimate Play the Game (later Rare, yes that _Rare_) this GBA serves as an homage/reimaginig rather than a port. It's something of a rare, as in uncommon, game and generally goes for around £90/100 CIB. I spotted this ebay auction and for once put my money where my mouth was by laying down my maximum price there and then. A few last minute sniper we're not enough to beat me and as a result I managed to bag this a fair way under the typical sale price. The box needs flattening and reshaping g a little but it should come up nicely. As for the game... that's this evenings entertainment.

Next up is a Saturn trio... two of which I needed to get me closer to the full set and one of which was supposed to be a cheap OG clamshell box. So the two I needed were Street Racer (a game I enjoyed on the Mega Drive so fingers crossed this is as good if not better), Worms a game that has eaten far, far too much of my time already but one I will inevitably feed an entire evening too at some point this autumn. Lastly Sonic R, a game I bought expecting it to simply be the case, inlay and manual only. I needed the case and intended to reach out to a few other collectios to see if they needed the inlay and manual.. but when it arrived i discovered a surprise inside. The disc! The ebay listing clearly stated that it was case, and manual only. I already have my childhood copy of Sonic R (I love it and refuse to hear a bad word said about it!) so this will now become trade bait for something else I need to complete my Saturn collection. And the cloud that pairs with this silver lining - the teeth in the case are snapped so I couldn't use it as an upgrade anyway!

Madden because I dont have an NFL game on the SNES yet.

QuackShot on the Mega Drive because I love it. Its probably one of my favourite platformers on the console. I've wanted the Japanese version for ages because the box are is just too nice. Best of all I was outbid on an auction and immediately jumped on a Buy It Now price that was actually less than my auction maximum bid. Not only that but the auction price then climbed to twice what I paid for this copy.

A Japanese Saturn Arcade Stick to go with my Japanese Saturn. Its considerably more manky than it looked in the photo so it'll need a good clean before I put it through a few games of Xmen Vs Street Fighter.

Lastly... this wicked cool old Nintendo bag. It's in great shape and looks to have some age to it. My guess is it's from the 90s (I member these style bags being quite popular then) and I would guess official as it's rather well made. It shows little signs of use and needs but a small wipe down to make it look as good an new(ish).

So this has been in my possession since working at a cinema many many moons ago. Sadly it's spent almost all of its life in a protective card tube. 😔

It finally managed to break free from its cardboard prison a little while ago to feature in an exhibition about pirates - taking a place in amongst other pirate move posters (think Muppets Treasure Island - RIP Tim Curry, Hook, The Goonies, etc).

Since the exhibition finished it's been sitting in its frame awaiting a fate most pirates would have feared. Hanging!

All that to say... hey look at this cool thing!

I love the awkward format and just how well it fits in this space.

And for those worried about sun fading - dear not as the only light source in this space has museum grade filtered glass (I planned ahead when picking that window). I'll also be light testing it periodically to ensure its exposure is within a tolerable range. *AND* I'm currently in the market for a second banner to ensure there is some rotation.

Ra'ees Bangura-Williams joins Cambridge United on loan

Ra'ees Bangura-Williams has joined Cambridge United on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The attacking midfielder, who played against The U's in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup Second Round fixture, will join up with Neil Harris and Adam Barrett for the remainder of the campaign at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

Bangura-Williams will hope to make his Cambridge debut this weekend as they face Huddersfield Town at home in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Makes a change from the normal shit draws

Came through Reading's youth setup before going that of arsenal.

Failed to make the first tea and had several loan spells - the best of which was out in Germany. Eventually he made the move to VfL Bochum permanent on a free transfer where he went on to play 20 games between '22 and '24. Durning 2024 he made a loan move to Greece where he played 8 games for PAS Giannina.

Signing a 2 year deal with Bolton in August 2024 Jordi returned to English football. Over those 2 years he went on to play 68 games, and scored 3 goals for the Trotters.

The 27 year old has impressed the club enough to make his trial a permanent contract at the 'Wall.

It was absolutely heaving at Greenwich Park today as thousands flocked to see the partial solar eclipse.

Long story short - what was once a stand for just away supporters will now house a few Lions too.
