Why don't Insurance Companies Deny Every Claim?

Since they want to maximize profit, and rejecting claims helps them to maximize profits by not paying out benefits, why don't they reject every claim for maximum profit?

How have some players already finished two card collections in less than two weeks? Is there some kind of glitch or exploit?

Scrolling through the top players I counted 8 with the blue bird token that comes from finishing the second collection. There shouldn't have been time to do that yet. Is there some kind of trick or exploit going on here? Ideas appreciated.

What's the deal with 'verify your pizza bag'?

There's a section in the user profile that says verify your pizza bag and if you do it the app under preferences/ get more offers: verify your pizza bag. When done it says Pizza bag verified with a green checkmark. So far so good.

The problem is that once you verify it, the app keeps wanting you to re-verify it every time you get a pizza order. What is up with this? Stop harassing me. I verified already. What's with all the extra steps? Take a photo of this. Take it again, and again, and again. What's the point of going into your preferences to verify the bag if you just have to keep doing it over and over? Enough already, DD.

This Doctor-turned-Youtuber has been spending a lot of time fearmongering about climate. He shadowbans anyone who questions the climate doomer narrative and says all the doubters are bots.

People can operate their social media presence any way they want to. If people want to seal off a perfect little echo chamber where only the people who agree are permitted to speak, you are free to do that... but I am free to be annoyed by it. It is cowardly and obnoxious. I'm not a bot, I just don't agree. Maybe that's part of the new world of AI, everything is assumed to be fake and 'dead internet' so you can dismiss anyone you don't like as if they weren't even real. "Anyone who doesn't think like me is a bot." Also the smug attitude of "I'm a doctor so I'm smarter than everyone... they're all in denial." No valid disagreement or doubt can exist, it's just stupid people and bots.

/sigh. Just needed to get that off my chest. This kind of thing grinds my gears.

Both You and I Will Likely Die a Premature Death Due To Climate Change and Collapse

Hey all, I'm curious about the sub's responses to this video. I tried to respond on his page and he's deleting comments that question his climate doomer narrative. What should be said to people who think this way? I'm at a loss to how to get through to them, their minds are so made up, it's frustrating. Thanks in advance.

What bothers me the most about Flock is that I'm convinced that it's a federal government surveillance grid, but for whatever reason they think they can't admit what it is - So we get this "private company" cover story.

Title pretty much says it. If you look into the details of how this company was formed, in Atlanta a major federal government hub, rolled out incredibly quickly all across the country using federal grant money. The CEO's name is Langley FFS, just like the city where the CIA HQ is located. That's like some stuff out of a movie, or maybe we're literally living in a simulation and whoever runs the sim just finds it funny to mess with us. In any case, this "public-private partnership" is something that I'm convinced is aligned with a three-letter agency such as CIA or NSA, yet we're being told it's just some kind of normal private business when it absolutely is not.

No one voted for these things, they were just put up under our noses without ever asking us what we think. We're not supposed to have an opinion on it. We're being told that if we oppose mass surveillance that "it means you just love crime and criminals." It's the old line about "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear." The tyrants can't understand that people just don't want to live under a panopticon... an "all-seeing eye" of federal surveillance.

Just be honest, Flock... tell us what you really are. Declare yourself to be a federal government surveillance grid. Admit that you're putting up the "all seeing eye" because you think you need to be able to keep an eye on everyone at all times for any reason of your choosing. Admit that you see us as your subjects and slaves, not free citizens in a free society.

What are some of the show's biggest blunders? I'm rewatching the show starting from the beginning and have already noticed a couple that should have been fixed during production.

I'm a few episodes into S2 and the two that come to mind so far are firstly there was an episode in S1 where the crew was under the influence of that virus brought in by the Klingon where it caused them to start re-enacting a mutiny. When Odo finally gets the "influence" out of the crew he opens an airlock and sends it out into space. Obviously you can't open an airlock with people inside the cargo bay exposed to the vacuum of space as this would kill anyone instantly and probably also suck them out off of the station faster than any of them could react. "Hold onto something!" Yeah right give me a break. A simple solution would have been to have Odo create some kind of forcefield around the alien "beings" and either keep them captured in some kind of container or send them out into space using the force field.

The second was in the episode where the guy temporarily steals the Dax symbiont. That rag-tag crew had way too easy of a time taking over the station. It was almost like DS9 was completely empty when you had this shuttle with a few people with basic handheld weapons who are somehow able to take over the station. Where is the rest of security? Furthermore, this is right after the station had gotten through an attempted coup involving rogue Bajorans. The station should have been on heightened security, yet it seems like there was Odo and that's it. The station for most of the show feels populated. On that episode it seemed like absolutely no one was there. It just doesn't make sense.

If the internet existed back then they would have been lambasted on the forums/ social media for stuff like this. What are some other examples of writing mistakes, scientific errors or other "what were they thinking? moments throughout the history of the show? Thanks in advance.

[WTS] Chris Reeve Green Beret Northwest Knives Exclusive Green Cerakote, Small Glass Blasted Sebenza, Benchmade 62 Balisong, Benchmade Narrows 748, White River Ursus 45

Timestamp and full photo set in links with each knife. I took the photos yesterday so the timestamps for the individual knives are yesterday's date because I intended to post them yesterday. Per Swap rules I added one additional group photo with today's date.

All items are obo, please chat to inquire about discounts or combo deals.

Chris Reeve Knives Green Beret 7" NWK Exclusive - OD Green Plain Edge Blade / CPM-Magnacut / Black Micarta Handle / Camo Lanyard GB7-1011. Link to source. $550 > $525

First owner. Like New/ Mint condition. Never cut or carried other than a few test cuts on paper. All original packaging and paperwork. Item listed at $680 on Ebay. This is the most sought after version of this knife. It was an impulse buy and I've decided to let it go. Trying to catch & release at cost + a little bit to cover insured shipping & Paypal fee. https://imgur.com/a/ViwqDhM

Chris Reeve Small Glass Blasted Sebenza 31 with MIM Clip. $450

First owner. Excellent condition. It's almost like new condition as it's only a couple months old but the only wear I can tell is slight fading of the blue color on the tip of the thumb stud which fades pretty quickly with use. No visible marks or wear of any kind on handle or blade. Carried outside the house maybe once or twice. Test cuts on paper and a couple pieces of fruit. Cuts great, looks great, really like the knife, but I always find myself going for the full-sized daily users so I'm letting this one go. It's $475 retail plus $50 for the glass blasted MIM clip would be $525 so this is $75 off its full value if sold as new. Also ships with a standard glass blasted Chris Reeve clip so you can install that one if that is your preference. https://imgur.com/a/dOOqqyc

Benchmade Model 62 Balisong. $300 > $275

First owner. Like New / Mint condition. No cut or carry other than a couple test cuts on paper. Perfect condition which is rare for this now discontinued knife. Benchmade has new balisongs with G10 handles selling for $400-$550 and the full metal ones for $650. This knife looks and feels the way a balisong should and would be a worthy addition to anyone's collection. Please check your local knife laws as this is restricted in some jurisdictions. All original packaging and paperwork included. https://imgur.com/a/g3RyL5Q

Benchmade Narrows 748. $250 sold

First owner. Very good condition. Has been carried and cut by me. Item is $525 retail, purchased new at a $399 discount deal. It's a cool knife, I've just decided to downsize my collections and am letting go of items that haven't been getting pocket time. I hope this finds a good home. It has a couple minor dings up toward the pivot area and fading of the blue color on the pocket clip. Action is perfect, knife is very sharp. It's a full titanium, 2.4 oz. featherlight knife with an M390 blade available at roughly the price of a Bugout. Well worth it in my opinion. Original box and paperwork included. https://imgur.com/a/k0ai48M

White River Ursus 45. $250

First owner. Like New/ Mint condition. Never cut or carried other than a few test cuts on paper. I have an Ursus Cub which is a smaller version of this knife and I like that one so much I thought I had to have this full-sized one, but for the kind of camping I do I don't really need it and as much as I'd like to keep it I've decided to let it go. I hope there is a Swap member who plans to do some camping or bushcrafting this summer or fall who would like to pick this up. It's been rated as one of the top bushcrafting knives currently on the market by various reviewers. This one is sold out most places, selling $20 below retail. Comes in original box with paperwork. https://imgur.com/a/bDVIFSd

I made an optimized version of the McNees Dixon with some changes I think it needs

The first photo is my optimized version and the second is the existing knife. I've made some adjustments to "finish" the knife to make it look the way that I think it should:

  1. The existing pivot is too small. This knife really needs an oversized pivot. It has been given that.
  2. The existing pivot's location is too high up toward the blade. It makes the knife look unfinished and lacking in symmetry. For the sake of symmetry it needs to be moved down so that there's a similar amount of space between inside of handle, back of handle and top near the blade.
  3. The hardware has been given a high polish appearance similar to what is on CRK folders.
  4. The blade is polished. Not every blade would need to be polished but for this sample photo I think it works.

NKD Green Beret 7" NWK Exclusive - OD Green Plain Edge

Picked this up last week from Northwest Knives. It was an impulse buy, saw it in stock and pulled the trigger. I don't know if I'm going to keep it, should probably do the responsible thing and catch & release. Anyway I'll enjoy it for as long as I have it.

It's undeniably a beautiful blade. And the micarta handles are the best I've ever experienced. The texture and contouring on these is really next level and it feels perfect in my large glove sized hand. I don't think the website properly shows the color of the handles. To my eye they're like an olive light green where the website makes them look almost blue. Anyway it's the coolest fixed blade I've ever personally experienced.

"Help make r/joerogan better!" - Does anyone want to comment on what this is all about?

I've been on Reddit for over a decade and never been sent a message like this. I can only assume that the admins think that there is something wrong with the sub in its current form or else they wouldn't be doing this kind of a survey. What's the angle here? Why this sub in particular? Thoughts appreciated, thanks in advance.
