inside my doodles ear - yeast infection

brought my doodle because of some ear issues, i was told he has a yeast based issue, but some bacteria was present.

I was also told his ears were pretty dirty inside of them.

how are you guys cleaning the inside of their ears? the vet said in a month when his ear are better (he is on meds) i would bring him back, they would sedate him and then pull all the hair from the inside of the ears.

This feels like something i should have been doing all along at home.

you guys use clippers? scissors? you actually pluck his ear fur?

Today is my 1 year anniversary

6 months as silver, 6 as gold. Will be gold again

220 items over 1 year, probably closer to 230 as some items never showed up, or when i got to reviewing them, they were removed from amazon, so i couldn't review them.

After a year, i have to say, this is a weird program and im a bit surprised it exists.

I have reviewed products before that were absolute garbage, things that shouldn't be sold, looked, a dozen 5 star vine reviews.

shocked by the amount of things in the program that are ingestible, sold by companies with random letter names, and people grab them, take them and review them.

Surprised by the number of car parts. Really surprised by things like internal engine parts and brake pads. I have no idea who would get piston rings for free on amazon by a random 3rd party company and use them during an engine rebuild. or who would put JGHGRDGGE branded brake pad on a car they drive or their family drives.

I did see rear brake brackets for a 1969 mustang on the site once. I would probably use those, but that seems like a real small market.

Have yet to figure out how ETV numbers are determined. Sometimes things will have really high numbers when comparable products on amazon will be half the cost. Who benefits from this exactly?

That tax bill at the end of the year was a bit surprising, i mean, yeah, i knew it was coming, i just never looked at how much crap i got. It added up quick. lol

porcelain berry - amazing looking, invasive, will get removed in the fall...too bad

I have a chicken run, this grew over the top of the run on the welded wire. I liked it because it proved shade from the sun. I didn't know what it was but i do now. Absolutely stunning looking berries, i don't think my chickens are suppose to eat them, so i'll probably trap off that half of the coop and remove it in the next week or two

Flat Roof - new owner

I am buying a house with a flat roof, i have never owned a house with one before. The inspector told me it looks fine, it doesn't leak.

What can i do to keep things this way? there is a small pool of water in the middle after it rained. not sure how big of a deal that is.

Id like to coat it in white silicone, id assume it would lower cooling bills and keep things sealed. but no idea if its just as simple as just applying it or if there is a ton of prep.

any links to "so you just got a house with a flat roof, here is what you need to know" discussions would be great.

light needs

I have this 6 gallon glass jug, its about 11 1/2 in diameter and 19 inches tall, thats to the mouth, but 17 inches to where the stem meet the jug.

I want to collect dirt, rocks, water and maybe some water plants from the stream next to my house and create a biosphere inside the jug, i would like to have it completely sealed off and let it live without any intervention on my part aside from providing light.

I was thinking a ring light, but i'm not sure of wattage or color, maybe 5000k?

might be worth noting i'm in the middle of the US, the stream id be pulling from has a pretty good tree canopy.

Windshield wiper sprayers - 2014 RR sport

The sprayers have no issue moving fluid, but they just sorta spray over the car, just misting the windshield. is there a way to adjust them? id guess they are the factory nozzles, so maybe its time to replace them. Has anyone had this issue?

I bought a generic gravity fed stainless water filter system

this is the first unit ive ever purchased of this kind. so if im asking the wrong questions, please help me ask the right questions.

with it being a name i've never heard of or even googling doesn't come up, I have very little faith in filters on it. was wondering is there a go to set of filters everyone agrees on in this community? and what expectations should i have for them?

does a filter set exist that i could just grab creek water and drink that from it?

I used a life straw before. i kind of thought it was much better than drinking creek water straight, but probably wasn't a perfect solution.

the unit i got looks like it is probably a direct clone of a purewell.

My 11 year old nephew this afternoon

Sitting in my family room, my sister and her kids are visiting from out of state. The 11 year picks up a guitar, he plays a bit, not amazing, but pretty good. My wife asks him to play something, he says "you guys know bertha by the grateful dead?" It was a shocking song to hear from of an 11 year old. It made my evening

2011 Kirkland Malbec - $5.99

This was on the shelf today at my local store. It must have been a return unless they stock 2011 wines. I think i found it listed back in 2015. Im sure it will be terrible, but i bought it anyway

This is shocking! Crossover pipe failed

Edit: my extended warranty told me to f off. they don't replace plastic pieces apparently.

I've done lots of auto repair over the years, how bad of a job is this? How many hours of work?

any weird about doing it? anyone have document on the process?

think im the first RR owner that had a coolant leak. /s

2014 RR sport, could smell the coolant. Brought it in, 5k to replace the pipe. Seems high, but my extended warranty should cover it.

Also the gas tank shield is completely rusted out. Is this a normal thing on these? seems weird it would rust, what would they make a part that constantly gets pelted by water rust? I think they want 3k to replace that.

s'mizza crust recipe help...

im attempting to make a pizza crust out of a graham cracker recipe. im going to make a s'more pizza. Ill use homemade marshmallows and chocolate as a sauce. I can make the marshmallows, but ill have to tinker with the chocolate a bit id suspect.

i'm trying to merge 2 Alton brown recipes

https://altonbrown.com/recipes/graham-crackers/

https://altonbrown.com/recipes/the-last-pizza-dough-recipe/

my first run I did..

537 g - graham flour (i coarsely milled some hard white wheat vs using commercial graham flour)

153 g - ap flour

202 g - brown sugar

5 g - salt

1/4 tsp - cinnamon

202 g - butter

150 g - molasses

115 ml - milk

1.25 tsp - vanilla

400 g - water

9 g - yeast

it was less of a dough, more like a soup. lol. it was really just dumping the chemical leavening and adding more liquid. Clearly i didn't account for the butter and molasses adding so much liquid.

I think the existing ingredients list is probably going to be fine, but i will absolutely need to adjust the hydration.

anyone have any suggestions as to how i can adjust things?

Very golden moment today

was on a family trip, we stopped at a grocery store to use the restroom. My wife got out and went inside, about a minute later i decided to go to since we were there. I was about 50 fee into the store and heard this clanking. I turned around and my golden was running through the store after me. He stepped on the arm rest of the car door and rolled the window down, jumped out and followed me. I bright him outside and my teen had headphones on, was looking at his phone and was completely oblivious to the fact my dog was gone.
