Your experience with clomiphene citrate?

My husband is getting varicocele microsurgery on June 12th (which his amazing urologist stated he needed) which he believes is affecting his motility, morphology and vitality:

Current Sperm Analysis-

Total Sperm: 93.53 million
Total Motile: 10%
Motility Progressive: 5%
Vitality: 24%
Morphology: 1%

He is currently taking a prenatal that has carnitine, COQ10, Vitamin B6 B9 C E and Zinc (this is one just prenatal that was prescribed by his urologist)

I was wondering what was you all’s results when you had to use this. His count isn’t the issue, but every other number is below normal, so he is hoping that this will be the saving grace. We do have a suspicion he has DNA fragmentation but my country won’t test for it because they don’t see it as essential. His urologist wants him to use clomiphene citrate starting the day of his surgery.

Varicocele surgery

31M

First Opinion: Grade 1 varicocele and shouldn’t affect fertility - asymptomatic

Second opinion (3 years later as we still haven’t been able to get pregnant): 3.6mm vein, still asymptomatic, high sperm count, T levels are normal, low motility and low morphology ( 5% and 1%)

We tried an embolization in December and they couldn’t perform it hence us seeing a second opinion. He wants to go ahead and do the surgery.

Any success stories or just appreciating some opinions on this to talk to him about next week before my surgery the 12th.

Anyone taking a break from OPK and BBT?

My husband is getting varicocele surgery in June, and since I have this cycle before it, we felt it might be better to just avoid doing any testing this whole cycle.

We have been trying for almost 3 years, and 3 failed transfers (via IVF) under our belt, we figured tracking wouldn’t make any difference this cycle. And for my June cycle, the urologist has already told us we will be on a at minimum 2 week break from any sexual activity - 3 weeks max if he is still in pain.

How did not tracking go for everyone else?

What’s going on?

To explain:

I started having brown spotting May 8th
Full period: May 9th - May 11th (but the weird part is it was lighter then usual - like it filled a pad, but not the way it usually does)
May 11th when I wiped, I had a big blood clot - not huge, but bigger than a quarter - but then my period tapered off - I called my gyno who stated that although it can be a cause for concern, in this instant, she doesn’t believe there’s any concern
May 12th - no period in sight at all, used the bathroom in the afternoon and when I wiped I saw bright red/pink , then have intercourse with my husband and boom, I use the bathroom and see bright red
May 13th have another fun time with my husband and this time when I wiped it was dark red

I have never had this happened before. None of these are enough to fill a pad at all, like they aren’t even getting on the pad. It only shows up when I wipe. I haven’t had any pain at all except for the 8th where I had intense back pain, but other than that I haven’t felt anything.

My husband was told he had grade 1 varicocele years ago, and was told it wouldn’t affect his fertility - and since he had no symptoms, they should leave it.

Well, almost 3 years of trying and no baby. We did 3 different sperm analysis and although he has a decent count (68 million, 90 million and 116 million) his motility, vitalité and morphology aren’t good at all. (Motility 13% progressive, 11% progressive and now 5% progressive - Morphology was 3% and then the other two were 1% - vitalité was 30%, 28% and now 23%)

We have been told we had to do IVF by our RE and that was the only way we would ever have kids. If we wanted to continue naturally, we would have less than a 3% chance of it happening (we did an IVF cycle - 3 failed implantations). Well, we met with a urologist (a second one) because my husband went for an embolization and apparently it failed. The second urologist we ended up meeting with said he was a bit shocked by the push for IVF and the fact they failed to do the embolization. So, we are going in for a surgery to help remove the vein as it isn’t grade 1, it’s grade 2, and they should’ve done the proper research beforehand. They went off documents from his very first exam (4 years ago).

Well, my husband has been cleared for surgery on the 12th of June and I was genuinely wondering what to expect.
