What did the snow elves call Skyrim? Do we actually know?

According to the pocket guide to the empire; "Exactly when the Nords first crossed the ice-choked Sea of Ghosts from Atmora, their original homeland, is uncertain. These first settlers named the land "Mereth", after the Elves that roamed the untamed wilderness which then covered the whole of Tamriel."

Of course this book is biased, because on the snow elves eusp wiki it says they had a civilization that "even rivaled the altmer of the summerset isles".

My best guess (nerd theory alert) is that before they were overthrown, the Nords called the land Mereth and the snelves called the land "Old Kingdom" (from eusp) or something else unknown, then the nords just decided to throw all that out for some reason and call the land "Skyrim" because of Kyne (because why not) (or maybe something else?)

How do I change the resolution on Vortex?

Yes I know this is a really dumb question :-(

I deleted everything to start anew with modding recently, and testing on Vanilla I found out that it still stutters/lags whenever I walk around. It's only outside, not in cities/caves/dungeons but it's still very annoying. It never crashes unlike before I reset everything.

My PC isn't bad by any means, and i'm not running too many mods. None of my mods affect the enviornment at all except for Darker Nights, so i'm pretty sure my resolution is just too high. It's a Victus HP Gaming laptop, 15-fb3xxx.

Thanks!

Question about QPR's (or more than one idk)

I don't understand them, and am personally not interested in them but I do have a question because i'm curious

Let's say that two asexual people (one man and one woman) want to be in a QPR, but neither of them are aromantic. One is a gay man and the other is a lesbian. How would that work? What if one (or both) wants to start dating?

What is the line drawn? What makes a QPR not romantic? What makes a QPR more than best friends? From my understanding of alloromantic society, if the concept is more than friends, then it's romance, but if it's not romantic then it's friendship. So what I'm asking is, what is so unique about QPR's that make it it's own, clearly idientifiable thing outside of friends and romance completely?

Just to be clear, i'm not hating on anyone. I couldn't give less of a shite what other people do i'm just curious about this stuff is all :P

What happened to Mark's friend Zombie? Do they still talk?

Mark used to play with a friend a long time ago which they called Zombie. I'm watching his drunk minecraft playthrough and searching hasn't yielded much results except for his old videos with him and stuff. I know that Yammimash is still around the youtube scene lol

Edit; Rest in Peace Tyson Valdivia aka Zombie or Zombiemold, your legacy will never be forgotten!!

Something still looks off!

I'm not that great at capturing likeness, so I decided to practice by trying to draw my skyrim character :3

I know the colors are off, I'm gonna fix that but i'm asking about his face shape. I think I got pretty close but it doesn't really look like him for some reason....

"By the nine! A Snelf!"

This is probably the most beautiful character I've made in this game tbh. Anyways, his name is Faebora Eredwen. The details are somewhat unclear, but during the early-mid merethic era he was kidnapped by a Master vampire for unknown reasons and used as a thrall/slave. He was under a curse which pretty much made him brain-dead (for a lack of better word) but still capable enough to carry out tasks and make basic decisions. His master died many, many, many decades before the events of Skyrim but his curse still held out for much longer than his master had originally intended. Actually, it was supposed to kill him when it broke but instead it just made him forget quite literally everything... All his memories, experiences, and even his own name just completely forgotten! Now he's trying to figure out what happened to all the Falmer etc. and why he had been "gone" for so long... Or even who he is!

My mods shown in the pictures; Immersive Armors (clothes), Snow Elf SSE (race), Sea Elves Subraces (the earrings he's wearing), Immersive Weapons (shield)

Cupioromantics, how did you find out? (General advice welcome too)

Cupioromantisicm describes me perfectly, yet I feel like i'm "too young" to know.... What if I have a crush eventually? I have never had a crush before despite some people confessing to me, and I could never see myself having a crush with a specific person yet I am absolutely obsessed with romance and desire a romantic relationship with someone!

I haven't found too much info about this specific label, so I'd really like some advice/your experiences. I found out I was asexual last year, so perhaps i'm aro too, who knows. Thank you for the advice

Do the Skaal of have their own language?

I couldn't really find much when googling, so I'd thought i'd ask. I'm writing some fan-work. Any info would be much appreciated :-)

Why do I keep thinking people actually like my work?

A real artist (NOT an ai, I looked) messaged me complimenting my work. A day later they begged me to give them money for commissions.

These are the only people who give my art compliments. I'm just hurt right now. I know my art is shit but come on man, this is just too fucked up

What would you do in this situation? (Art trades / collaborations)

I'm not saying this to be judgmental whatsoever. Please don't misunderstand that.

Occasionally, artists who follow me that are beginners/have a lower skill level will ask me to do an art trade/collaboration with them. Sometimes they even pressure me a little or ask in a way where they're expecting a "yes" from me.

I don't do art trades/collaborations with anyone, no matter their skill level but I feel bad for rejecting them. I have extreme social anxiety so I just end up ghosting them instead of saying "no". I can't ever think of a proper response that's not too rude or too condenscending

I knew it would be a waste of time, but I did it anyway

I tried going onto the ace space app. None of the "men" in my ENTIRE state are in their 20's..... They're all 50+. I put men in air quotes, because all of them have every gender option assigned to them for some reason (male female nonbinary transgender genderfluid etc. Real pictures & they all look like sweaty country-grandpas so they're not bots) so IDK if they're men or not, but I only put men in my filter.

Idk what I expected, I at least thought I was going to find one or two people but zero? Kinda surprising.

Anyways, time to go be alone forever...

Warning; graphic topics mentioned (no detail)

I'm 24. All the people who had wanted to be my friend previously either wanted something from me or were just gross. Or both.

The last person (2 weeks ago) asked if I did meth. The one before that made fun of me and expected me to like it. The one before that was a necrophile, and got mad at me for not supporting her. The one before that just wanted to have sex with me because I'm an adult who looks like a pre-pubescent kid. The one before that just wanted free artwork. The one before that wanted me to transition into a woman because she couldn't make any friends who were women (???) . And so on and so forth.

It goes like that for a while. I haven't had a friend since I was in elementary school. I live in a red state so as a kid everyone else like hunting animals, fishing and playing sports but I didn't have any interest in that. There was no one like me, so I didn't make any friends.

I live in a fairly big city, but still. i've looked online & at my libraries and there are no meet-ups for any of my interests nearby, only ones for like veteran and amnesia support groups. Only hobbies I could find were like before, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, football etc. which I am not into. I am 100% sober, and I don't own a car.

I'm mainly into art, writing, reading, cooking, baking, and playing video games. I did find some cooking and baking classes but they were only for children. No book clubs. No art groups. Nada.

What do I even do at this point? There is literally no one like me unless they're mean or morally apprehensible. I don't want it to be like this.

I've been trying to find this bandit shack for an hour now. In the second picture i've been to every square inch of that place but only found the drethen ancestral tomb & the dwemer ruins nearby. Does this place even exist? There is no information about it online aside from EUSP.

It says it's east of Rotheran, but I can't find that either.... I'm trying to murder a murderer and it's so frustrating

As i've been getting into character design lately and putting my work out there for critique, i've noticed a pattern. Not everyone has this mindset of course (and i'm NOT saying they do) but I find that it's extremely common;

If the character is not sexually attractive, the viewer will dismiss the piece as bad art/bad character design. Some will even go as far as to say the artist has no skill and should even just quit.

I base my art and character designs on what is visually interesting, not based on sex at all. However, whenever I say this a lot of people are confused because they think interesting means "sexually attractive" no matter what. Even in the context of something like Salvador Dali's work they'd put some sexual motif on it.

I posted a character asking about his body type, and I got a lot of comments on his face. He is a skinny, pale, sickly looking 51 year old man yet most people were confused as to why he wasn't wearing makeup or why I didn't draw him in a provacative way. In my mind, his face was supposed to be read like he's surprised and caught off guard. I didn't think anyone would care that a face like that isn't considered fuckable. Because why would a sickly, pale middle aged man be like that in the first place?

Someone even drew over it, giving him an ahego facial expression wearing makeup, which wasn't even close to what it was supposed to be...

That example is probably not the best, because he is wearing a bunny suit. No matter what I say or my intentions, people would probably assume he's supposed to be docile and sexual. Tbh I just wanted to practice drawing different clothing material. Let's give another example, then.

I asked for critique on a female character of mine. She is a very masculine cat woman who's also middle aged (she looks a little younger though). She often wears a mask and is very modest, wears lots of layers. Shows almost no skin, not even her hands most of the time. She is also a chronic alcoholic and smoker with PTSD, tbh I think she looks and sounds great for someone like that but I digress... Everyone was fine with all of that, but when I showed her, they were confused as to why I didn't make her extremely curvy, have big breasts, and give her some weird face expression.

You may argue that this is the internet... And yeah that's true too. But whenever I read articles and critique pieces for art as well, like in museums and magazines and stuff, whenever the critiquer doesn't like something I often find their complaints align with the design not being sexually attractive OR the design lacking some sort of sexual meaning behind it. I'm not crazy, go out there and look at some acclaimed critiques and and I'll guarantee you'll find some like that every once in a while!

And yes, obviously not everyone sees art like that. I mean people do like my character designs, and they don't hold any sexual importance to it at all (my evidence? Skinny old man in a wizard outfit. At least I don't think they do anyway.)

My point is not to complain, but i'm just wondering if asexuals see art differently than most allosexuals. Do you think they do? Idk, I'd just like some insight on this from other asexuals.

I know these are all varying degrees of detail, but they all have similar features. As a kid I was really inspired by Lucky Star but wanted to learn anatomy etc first, and then I just never went back to anime I guess.
