Am I the only one that doesn't like Sparking! Zero's combat system?
I feel like there's just too much in this game and they don't explain it well. There's like 6 different counters and I know how to do like two. And it's not about learning them, but that some concepts in this game are never explained, and they're so crucial. Like, I found out that when you're getting comboed by an NPC, you're genuinely better off just button mashing everything on your controller until one of your counters are set off.
Like, comparing the game to something like Xenoverse 2, and I would take Xenoverse 2 every single time. There's no reason to make so many moves and controls, ESPECIALLY if you're barely going to explain them, if at all. You can learn everything in Xenoverse 2, and it's very simplistic controls that you can turn into larger combo strings that are more complex. It's just really frustrating to try and play this game and finding myself doing the same combos over and over again because there's no combo list, no training to discover combos, the hit reg of charge attacks is awful, and even if I learned some moves, I would forget them because there's genuinely too much.
The idea makes sense. If you have a lot of variety, then it feels less like a game and more like an actual fight. But it's so poorly explained and at the end of the day it's just a pain.
