Where to start

Hello! I am asking for general advice and guidance for starting my first harness. I know a lot about armor, as well as modern armorers, very little about armored fencing, and the process of arming. What I am asking for is help on starting my own harness intended for general combat both on foot and mounted, I do know this will not be cheap in any way shape or form. I just want to know where to start with my armor and clothing, this means arming doublets, maille, arms and armor. For reference I live in America, and I am looking to make a harness from the 15th Century, maybe 14th, like the pictures above. I know this won’t be easy, especially considering my location but as long as I have somewhere to start that is enough for me. I am excited to see what yall recommend and thank you all for your support.

What’s your favorite suit/piece of armor?

Here’s some of mine, kinda bored and looking for stuff to draw. For clarification I’m looking for your favorite specific piece of armor.

Which episode does Hunter start talking about clubbing Tugboat on the back of the head and sacrificing him?

Legit hardest I’ve laughed this month was after hearing that, and I might even want to draw that later.

Looking to learn more about the lore

Hello! I have been a fan of the Crimson Fists for a little while now, and I am overjoyed to finally be able to paint and play them, however I would like to know more about their lore, aside from what takes place on Rynn’s world, that I already know. I’m welcome to any book recommendations and just whatever yall consider interesting enough for others to know. Thanks!

Watching your hb pull up to the joust wearing a birdcage

Quick doodle based off that Thanos YT thumbnail, I like this one cuz it can be used both negatively and positively

Question regarding the gap between the breastplate and helmet

Why is there a gap between the breastplate and helmet on some jousting harnesses? Is there a specific purpose that it serves, mistake of the armor smith, or something else entirely? I feel like this would be an opening for splinters if not even a lance to enter the throat.

Looking for help with painting

Hello! I was wondering if I could find some tips and tricks for painting my new Armageddon box in the style of the second image. I would like to stick with Citadel and Army Painter paints, but anything to get the armor looking right will help a ton. As a side note is there any way to color yellow over the black on the transfers to achieve that rogue trader look? Anything helps, thanks!

Underrated examples of arms and armor

I was looking for pieces of arms and armor that are really underrated today, I tend to see the same pieces such as the Avant armor, Wallace A69, etc. I mean underrated by a unique aspect to them or simply a piece that lacks the recognition it deserves.

Where to find custom space marine bits

First post here! I can only guess how many times this question has been asked before, but I was wondering about any places where I can buy high quality space marine parts, for example firstborn helmets and historical helmets like sallets and great helms for primaris marines. I know that Etsy and Ebay are good sources of high quality parts, but I’m asking for more specific sellers and websites.
