Ovestin was the answer
6 weeks ago I posted about some unexplained irritation I was experiencing on and off since October 2025. There were so many potential causes as so much happened in such a short period of time... I had no long treated Ureaplasma, then developed and treated what I believe was CV and also stopped my contraceptive pill. Using Kirkland toilet paper 6 months later is what made the irritation more severe, frequent and noticeable.
7 weeks ago I had my last appointment where i was given a specialist referral for my irritation as their avenues of treating me had failed. From April to June they first suspected it to be a yeast infection and took a swab test before giving me fluconazole, but tests came back negative so treatment obviously did not help. They also suspected my issue could be lichen sclerosus or lichen planus. I was sent home with a steroid cream which made everything for me so much worse. On this last appointment I had at the end of June, after being told that i will be on a long waiting list for the specialist I decided to make a suggestion to my doctor to try estrogen cream. I had nothing else to lose at that point and luckily she agreed. I was prescribed Ovestin cream to use nightly for 2 weeks, then every other night for 2 weeks. Its been 3 weeks since I last used the cream and I haven't felt even a twinge of irritation since! Honestly I am so happy that the ovestin worked as my specialist appointment has been booked in a year's time! 😮💨
My one year anniversary of when I finished taking treatment for Ureaplasma is in two weeks. What a journey it has been, I am still coming up as negative on tests and have not felt any symptoms I felt during Ureaplasma since this time last year.
Despite everything, I am thankful. Ureaplasma helped me see my ex's true nature which saved me from being in a disappointing, sided relationship.
Im also thankful for the support this sub has given to me over the past year, it truly means a lot. This is definitely my last update post for this sub as I feel there's nothing else I can contribute now... I will still linger and comment on other's posts from time to time. Just to share knowledge and experience.
