Ovestin was the answer

6 weeks ago I posted about some unexplained irritation I was experiencing on and off since October 2025. There were so many potential causes as so much happened in such a short period of time... I had no long treated Ureaplasma, then developed and treated what I believe was CV and also stopped my contraceptive pill. Using Kirkland toilet paper 6 months later is what made the irritation more severe, frequent and noticeable.

7 weeks ago I had my last appointment where i was given a specialist referral for my irritation as their avenues of treating me had failed. From April to June they first suspected it to be a yeast infection and took a swab test before giving me fluconazole, but tests came back negative so treatment obviously did not help. They also suspected my issue could be lichen sclerosus or lichen planus. I was sent home with a steroid cream which made everything for me so much worse. On this last appointment I had at the end of June, after being told that i will be on a long waiting list for the specialist I decided to make a suggestion to my doctor to try estrogen cream. I had nothing else to lose at that point and luckily she agreed. I was prescribed Ovestin cream to use nightly for 2 weeks, then every other night for 2 weeks. Its been 3 weeks since I last used the cream and I haven't felt even a twinge of irritation since! Honestly I am so happy that the ovestin worked as my specialist appointment has been booked in a year's time! 😮‍💨

My one year anniversary of when I finished taking treatment for Ureaplasma is in two weeks. What a journey it has been, I am still coming up as negative on tests and have not felt any symptoms I felt during Ureaplasma since this time last year.

Despite everything, I am thankful. Ureaplasma helped me see my ex's true nature which saved me from being in a disappointing, sided relationship.

Im also thankful for the support this sub has given to me over the past year, it truly means a lot. This is definitely my last update post for this sub as I feel there's nothing else I can contribute now... I will still linger and comment on other's posts from time to time. Just to share knowledge and experience.

13 month battle with my vagina.

I'm a woman in my mid 20s and as the title says, I've been struggling for 13 months from a series of unfortunate events all stemming from unprotected sex. Buckle up because its a long story, I will summarise it as much as I can

End of June 2025 I had sex with a new partner then early July I developed UTI like symptoms and sex was painful. Spent weeks trying to find an answer as doctor's tests came back negative, new partner quickly became my ex. Mid August I got the results back from a PCR test showing I have both Ureaplasma Urealyticum and Parvum, negative for all other STIs. Took antibiotics until the begging of September, and stopped taking my birth control after finishing the antibiotic course. I got my Ureaplasma clear results 6 weeks later in October. I was now clear of urinary symptoms but had developed vaginal irritation and burning with thick white jelly like discharge. Treated it as CV and used baking soda sitz baths which helped with the discharge and the burning, but the irritation I would feel at my posterior fourchette remained, I put it down to unstable hormones after coming off the pill and thought it will stop on its own. 7 months pass, it's now May 2026. I still feel the irritation at the posterior fourchette and to make things worse, I used Kirkland brand toilet paper and set my whole vulva on fire. GP tells me that it's a yeast infection that I have had for the past 7 months and gave me fluconazole as well as taking a swab sample. I stopped using the toilet paper, took the fluconazole as prescribed, the burning stopped but the redness and irritation stayed, localised to the posterior fourchette. Beginning of June 2026 I go back to the GP and see a different doctor, who proceeds to tell me I did NOT have a yeast infection, that my labs came back negative for yeast and BV. Since I have a history of eczema, she thinks I have lichen sclerosus or planus and gives me a prescription for a steroid ointment to try for a month. 3 weeks in and the burning is back and unbearable, I discontinue use and schedule to see her again.

Beginning of this month, she wants to refer me to a dermatology specialist to get to a diagnosis, but the wait list is months long. I ask her if we could try a topical estrogen in the meantime to which she agreed to try and is also curious to know if it will help me. It's been 3 and a half weeks since I was prescribed and started using the cream, for the first time since October, I have been free from irritation and feel as if I have my situation under control. My intimate skin looks much more healthy and normal, no longer red. I'm only halfway through this trial treatment but I'm already seeing results so I'm hoping to say it is a success.

13 months of issues stemming from a mistake I made with a man who wasn't worth the time... Though I will count my blessings, if this issue didn't start then I wouldn't have seen his true nature so early. Just glad to now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Post plasma life + new unrelated(?) issue

Around this time last year is when I thought I had a freak test-evading UTI. I was searching endlessly online for a name I could pin to my symptoms. I thought I was going crazy until I tested for Ureaplasma and found that I was positive for both strains.

Its been nearly 11 months since I treated, 9 months since the first negative TOC, 6 months since the second and 3 months since the third. It has not come back, I remain negative and symptom free.

Some time after my first negative TOC I got in a new relationship, I decided not to go through testing him because of how much more unreliable male testing can be, but I feel it's now safe to assume he is also negative. Our relationship is still growing strong and we now live together! This man came to me at a low point in my life, showed me how it feels to be loved, and stuck around since. The no good ex who gave me Ureaplasma could never match this energy, even if he tried.

This ex reached out to me months after being no contact, saying he missed "us." This man literally chose to go no contact with me and would avoid ever seeing me because I said I wouldnt have sex with him until we had both taken treatment, it was his fault there was no more "us."

Petty me posted a status of me and my current boyfriend with a quote on how I will always and forever choose him, made sure my ex viewed it before blocking him on everything.

New unrelated(?) issue

I have had one vaginal issue since treating ureaplasma. No idea if it has any correlation with Ureaplasma, but I have put my current situation below if anyone is interested.

A 9 month long chain reaction of unfortunate events has landed me a new yet to be diagnosed problem. 9 months ago I stopped taking my contraceptive pill and my body never really returned to baseline. My periods are somewhat regular but I always have very little discharge at all points of my cycle, it never changed consistency. I always seem... dry. I saw so many people saying it can take up to 6 months for hormones to readjust so I've just ignored it since.

About 2 months ago whist staying at my boyfriend's place I used Kirkland brand toilet paper unknowingly. I've read posts on the problems it can cause for women and thought I was safe as it seemed to be a US brand only... Nope! Somewhere at the outskirts of London, there is a Costco and my partner's flatmate frequents there. After two days of using this my entire vulva felt as if it was on fire. My GP took a swab, prescribed fluconazole telling me it was a yeast infection and sent me on my way. I made sure to bring my own toilet paper to my boyfriend's place and took the fluconazole. The burning reduced, but I was left with a strange irritating crawling sensation at my posterior fourchette. I wouldn't feel it constantly, but I would definitely feel it daily, sometimes multiple times in a day. I went back to my GP with this issue and saw a different person. When reading my past medical history, it came to our attention that the culture swab which was taken on my last visit came up negative for everything, yeast included, so the fluconazole didn't do anything for me. This GP examined me, and said that everything looks fine other than some redness at the area I said I feel the most irritation. She asked about my skin in general, if I have ever suffered with eczema, which I do. I told her I don't use any soap products on my skin because I end up with dry scaly patches on my hands and arms. After I said that, her diagnosis for me was possible lichen sclerosus or lichen planus. She sent me on my way with a month trial of steroid ointment to use. After only a week it made my vulval burning return with vengeance. I tried to persevere but stopped using it halfway through the third week. I took to reddit again in search of related symptoms hoping to find an answer and found something I could relate all too well to. I returned to my GP and luckily got to see the same practitioner again. She suggested a referral to a specialist, but said that I can be on a waiting list which could take over a month. I asked if I could trial something as my symptoms aligned with a post I had seen on another reddit sub talking about hormonally mediated vestibulodynia. I showed her the thread filled with women my age all suffering similar symptoms talk about the relief that localised estrogen cream gave them. Luckily she was on board with my idea and gave me the prescription to try for another month. She still put through the specialist referral just in case but its something I can easily cancel if I don't need it.

Its been a week since I started using the localised estrogen cream, its still too early to say for certain if this is my cure, but I can say that the crawling sensation has drastically reduced. I'm hopeful that reddit has again sourced my diagnosis.

I have been working on disconnecting the link in my brain that tells me everything I feel is Ureaplasma. I still can't help but think "what if" even with this new issue now. Ureaplasma was definitely a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. I know treatment will be hard to get a second time as I have exhausted all online pharmacies, they won't prescribe antibiotics again.

What do you do to keep entertained on a wake night shift?

I work for a healthcare company with a strict no phone policy during work hours. At night with no management around, people have bent the rules, but some a little too much and they have now been caught. I have a feeling that they will do a surprise check in upcoming days.

What is a socially acceptable pass time to do between hourly checks and care calls that wont land me in trouble with management?

First time switch modding, please help (are there benefits to it?)

I've just bought a faulty unpatched V1 switch which I'm fully capable of fixing and I'm planning on modding it.

I just want to ask what the benefits are of modding a switch, is it similar to the 3DS in the likes that I can get paid games downloaded for free?

Also, is there a switch version of PKSM? There are quite a few event pokemon I missed out on with sword and shield which I would like to get "legally"

Any guidance is greatly appreciated, or links to YouTube how to's

Vulval burning

Ive been using clob twice daily for over a week now for suspected LS. I had itching and a crawling sensation to the posterior fourchette which has got me my "diagnosis"

My ENTIRE vulva is now on fire. Its something that has started and increased since using the steroid cream, and I'm going to assume its not normal, so now I'm going to ask a stupid question...

Do I continue using the treatment or do I stop? I have a review in 3 to 5 weeks time.

Could I be pregnant?

My period is generally pretty regular with cycles lasting 30 - 35 days. (I track it on flo) Im now on day 42 and there has been no sign of my period at all. I had some brown spotting last week around when I expected my period to start which then changed to watery pink before disappearing entirely. Me and my partner have had sex a few times around ovulation and at other points of the cycle. We used the pull out method, which I know is not very protective but hey. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests, one the day after spotting and one today. Both came back negative. My discharge after spotting was extremely thick white/cream in colour, now its very watery white.

I don't have any PMS or pregnancy symptoms to my knowledge. Ive never been pregnant before so I don't know what to expect really

ETA both tests were clear blue ultra early tests and not done on first urine of the day.

Sun/moon is boring me 😭

Like the title says, Pokemon sun and moon (US/UM included) are boring to me. Every 5 steps is an unnecessary cutscene but I'm trying to get a full living dex in my pokemon home... is there any way I can skip this game entirely and get all the pokemon in the games released afterwards? I know sword and shield are no better when it comes to endless cutscenes, but I would prefer to go through one annoying game instead of two

When should symptoms improve?

I just want to start by saying my Doctor and I are not 100% sure that I have LS, I have not had a biopsy done, we are treating based solely on symptoms alone.

I have had what I can only describe as either itching or a crawling sensation at the posterior fourchette. Its intermittent, doesnt have a defined trigger or pattern. Changes in severity. Sometimes it can last for days, Sometimes I can go days where I dont feel it.

ANYWAY- I have been prescribed the steroid cream to apply daily to the area, but I've not yet felt any improvement at all. Ive been using it for the best part of a week now and there's been no change to my symptoms.

Anyone with similar symptoms to me, how long did it take for the cream to make a difference to the irritation?

Please help

Ive just come back from the GP for posterior fourchette irritation. I went in suspecting hormone imbalance, left being told its possible lichen sclerosus.

I have irritation and redness to the posterior fourchette, but it is mostly noticeable around ovulation, then goes away around my period, and has been like this since I stopped my birth control in October.

Has anyone else had symptoms like this? When I look at symptoms online, honestly I don't feel they align with what I'm feeling. I'm being prescribed a steroid cream to use for 4 to 6 weeks to see if it helps. If it doesn't I will be sent to a specialist.

I feel im going crazy.

For a few months now I've been feeling what I can only describe as a bubble leaving my vagina which then gets stuck in this "pocket" area I have between the perineum and vaginal entrance. It then irritates that area until the bubble "pops" then I feel fine. It happens randomly throughout my cycle though I feel it less on my period.

I cannot think of a cause, I'm negative for everything, no yeast infection, no BV infection, No STIs (including ureaplasma and mycoplasma)

Can anyone shed some light into what could be the cause? It's begging to get annoying 🥲
