Supreme Court must ensure integrity and calibre of the NEET protest panel: CJP's Saurav Das

(CJP) Saurav Das has appealed to the Supreme Court to ensure that members of the proposed independent high-powered panel probing allegations of police excesses during the NEET protest are persons of “unimpeachable integrity” and high calibre.

The Supreme Court has said it will constitute a high-powered committee comprising retired judges, a former DGP, an ex-CBI director and others to examine allegations of police excesses against student protesters.

From temples to cycle tracks — children are not safe anywhere

Two men, 20 and 21, spiked their 16-year-old “friend’s” cold drink with intoxicants and cannabis, then raped her on a cycle track. A third boy, also 16, recorded the entire thing on his phone and later circulated the video on social media.

The girl was so terrified she didn’t tell anyone. The video eventually reached her family. Only then did the case come out. This happened in Mumbai. Not some remote village. Mumbai.

And just yesterday, another animal sexually assaulted a minor inside a temple in Cyberabad.

A child. Inside a temple.

Chemical castration should be on the table. No sympathy. No rehabilitation theatre for predators who target children.
