Accepted as a Computer Science (CS) major into UT Austin
Hello everyone!! I got accepted into UT Austin as a transfer student into Computer Science. To give you all a little background about myself: I'm an international student studying in the US and decided to apply to UT Austin as a transfer earlier this year!!
I've always heard that it's almost impossible to externally transfer into CS. It still feels unreal to have been accepted.
I had a few questions that I was confused about. I'd really appreciate if someone could answer them for me.
- When do I get my credit evaluation? I was accepted on the 15th of May and I don't see any credit evaluation been posted to my account yet.
- How strict are they with transferring CS courses? Is there a good chance that I might have to repeat a lot of courses I already took?
- Also my acceptance says entry level. I'd no longer be an entry level CS major if all the introductory courses articulate correct?
- How is the CS department overall? I know UT Austin has an amazing CS program but can someone please give me deeper insights?
Also are any pieces of advice that the current and former CS students have for me? I'd greatly appreciate them, helping me begin my journey at UT Austin.
