Lufthansa looks like will refuse earlier Boeing 777X jets

Looks like Lufthansa will follow Emirates and don't take the first 777-9X already built and sitting at Everett

Taking that in count, the first delivery will be further delayed?

Silkway 747-8F going to Dallas instead of Houston with only 6 tons of fuel remaining

So I came across this on Twitter and had to read it several times to believe it

It looks like this crew programmed the FMC to fly from NLU to DAL, and the flight plan was filed the same way, but the scheduled route was NLU to IAH

They only realized it when they were at around 11,000 ft and about to be vectored to DAL, while running low on fuel, with around 6,000 kg remaining (if it's 6,000 lbs, it's even worse). One Atlas Air pilot pointed out that this is only enough for around 36 minutes of flight, so the aircraft would have had to land well before reaching Houston

In the end they landed in DFW, just after request for a "shortcut" to IAH. Yes, you read correctly.

Very interesting (and shocking) to listen to all the ATC audio

Twitter embeds stopped working after forced update, any clue?

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue where most of the tweets I embed on my WordPress website aren't working, especially in new posts. This started happening after an update made by Cloudways to our application. The update included many improvements, but it also introduced this issue. However, I'm not sure which part of the update caused it.

I've already tried flushing the cache and checking for even newer updates, but without success.

The issue only occurs on mobile devices, not on desktop, which makes it even stranger to me. The screenshot shows how it looks on mobile, but it only affects posts I published after the update.

I've really tried everything I could find so far, but I'm still not sure what's causing the issue.

Interim and Final Report on the Voepass ATR crash in Brazil in 2024

The ATR 72 crash that happened in Brazil back in August of 2024 had a recent update by the local investigation board (CENIPA) and one newspaper got access to the Final Report that was sent to BEA and TC

Looks like the pilots didn't react to low-speed warnings that flashed up many times before the aircraft started a turn (following the FMS route) and then got a right-wing stall.

Going from GA to the A320, and asking for help with the sim test (VOR DME ARC)

Hello everyone, I'm about to take a major step and go from being a Cessna pilot (from the 172 to the 208) to an Airbus. I'm a WMU graduate, but I'm from another country.

I'm in the process of doing the final tests (I just went through an ATP-style test, and the Prepware app helped me a lot).

The next step will be next week, when I have to fly the A320 simulator (FTD) with the AP engaged, but only relying on HDG, V/S, and A/T, no NAV (LNAV/VNAV) mode allowed to use.

I really like the Airbus, and I'm just glad to have this job opportunity, but I have flown mostly on Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024*, and I've had some difficulties trying to replicate what the test at the airline next week will be like, so I'm willing to take any tips. Here's what I should expect from the simulator part of the test:

  1. Takeoff with an OMNI departure
  2. Fly to a VOR
  3. Do a reverse-course procedure turn
  4. Fly a VOR/DME arc and then an ILS to final
  5. Turn off the AP on short final and perform a manual landing

From what I tested today, I'm having trouble managing when I should start the turn on the A320 to be in the correct position on the arc when joining it. I tried flying at 220 knots and started the turn 1.0 NM before the arc, and I ended up too far from it. I tried again at the same speed but started turning 0.5 NM before the arc, and I overshot it.

I don't have any difficulties when doing this approach in the Cessnas since I can manage my turn rate, but on the Airbus, flying in a more manual mode (HDG mode only), it's kind of hard. If anyone has a video tutorial or tips to share, I would be thankful.

I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask, but I'm just trying to do my best and succeed on the test.

Thanks in advance, and safe flights, everyone!

Brand new E195-E2 landing in a very short airport in Brazil, training for YTZ?

Hello, yesterday and today an Embraer E195-E2 from the factory was seen doing landings and take-offs from Santos Dumont Airport in the scenic Rio de Janeiro.

The airport is known for its very short runway (1.323 meters x 42 meters) and sits right beside Guanabara Bay. The E195-E2 flies there on a daily basis with Azul Airlines, so maybe they are doing some kind of training for Porter pilots to land at Bishop with a 1.219 x 46 m runway?

And yes, I know that Bishop has a jet ban as of today, but it doesn't make sense to make 4 flights straight before delivery with a Porter crew (you can hear them on the radio) with a Porter airplane.

Any thoughts?

Why SCL-MAD will have a fuel stop in Rio de Janeiro for september till november?

Not sure if I should be writing in english or spanish, but that's very weird that only one of the two flights on the SCL-MAD route will be doing a tech stop in GIG during many weeks between september and november

LATAM flights remain nonstop and also the night flight of IB. Also Iberia can't sell tickets just for SCL-GIG.

Any clue?

SimWorks Studios PC-12 v1.7.14

They released yesterday (18th) with improvements:

>This release marks a major step forward for the aircraft, introducing the SWS tablet directly into the cockpit, complete with integrated checklists, documentation, and full avionics hot-swapping. The EFIS50 weather radar is also now included, alongside a range of refinements across systems and usability.

>The update is now being distributed to our resellers and should begin rolling out across their platforms throughout the day tomorrow.

Before someone asks, the airplane it's for the 2020 but it's compatible with the 2024 with some limitations. Full version for the 2024 will be releasing soon but no date yet.

Reports of two RAF F-35B stuck in Lajes AFB

Looks like that two F-35B that were on delivery flight got some issues related to refuelling probes (?) and were unable to connect to the A330 MRTT Voyager tanker after departing from Lajes, on Portuguese Azores Island

But I didn't see any picture of those birds parked at Azores, even if the reports points to a 60+ day long stay
