reddit.comA church or mosque or temple or any other religious organisation is ultimately a business and so their ultimate goal shoul all be to recruit Elon Musk and/or Jeff Bezos.
All religions want tithes to keep their building open, pay the parishioners etc. A lot of work is done by charity, reduced rates etc. They tell you that by tithing, you are building your mansion in heaven or paradise or your next incarnation or Mormons believe every male will get his own planet to be king over! Scientology is a little more upfront, the fees aren’t ’optional’ but they must be paid in order for you to ultimately become some space god or something. They want famous rich 🤑 people to join but their numbers are dwindling and the ones they have are getting old. Then there’s faith healers who promise miricles and sell holy water and then people lile Bob Larson who claimes to excorises demonns. Then you have Mother Teressa who did nothing but give dying people a bed to die in and used the charity donationsto build more nunneries. Then there are 77 year old pastors, too old to be part of a large church and rent out the local community hall on a Sunday to earn some extra retirement money, they have some cool stories to tell but that’s about it. The only ‘real’ services they perform and marriages and funerals, both of which now have atheist options. So my contention is that the ultimate goal of any religion is to attract as many ‘billionares’ so they ‘win’ the battle with other religions. That’s it, that is their entire goal and endgame in order to spread their religion. There’s nothing spiritual about that whatsoever in my opinion. A real religion in my opinion should simply charge an attendance fee like seeing a movie as long as it’s entertaining and has a choir and all the bells and whistles. Churches say that the dwindling number of church attendance is good because it means that their target 🎯 is bigger and while this is an optimistic view, it is not exactly a good analogy because the target is also moving further away towards scientific realism and truth. Eventually the church will have to either become liberal and they will add John Spong books to their bookstores or teach self defence classes and theatre 🎭 groups and business 🧑💼 speaking/teaching 👩🏫 lectures on the off days to keep the building afloat.
Edit: Oh yeah, another thing they could do with churches is spit out a God’s Not Dead movie every week using A.I and charge a ticket 🎟️ What are we doing on Saturday mum? We’re going to watch God’s Not Dead GHRL1793 at church tonight dear and eventually Chat GPT will think it’s God.
