WAW for renounce? Specifically in terms of leaving a church, more particularly a catholic church that you have no intention to return to?

Update: I was way off, it was a verb and definitely did not start with an N. The word was Denounce!

Other: "You go to church on Sunday?" Me: "I denounce the church!" Other: "No, you denounce the church? That's bad, you have to come back." Me: "I won't, and no one can convince me to."

ETA: renounce is the word I am looking for a replacement for, and I'm pretty sure the word is a noun.

For more information, I used a word a few years ago, when speaking to another French Canadian, honestly not sure where the word came from or how it popped out of my own mouth when I can't in any way recall it now.

Maybe it was a French word, maybe it was English, maybe it was a biblical term, I literally can not recall the word and when I google it, it just keeps calling me an Apostate or a Heretic.

This is an example of exactly how the sentence went, minus the one word I can not recall:

Other: "You go to church on Sunday?"

Me: "I ___ the church."

Other: "No, you ___ the church? That's bad, you have to come back."

Me: "I won't, and no one can convince me to."

A question about gloves for public use!

I have Misophonia and sensory over-reactivity. For the Misophonia there are actually several resources, apparently, like noise suppressing earbuds or headphones that still allow me to hear people.

For the sensory over-reactivity, though, I am still struggling to find an option. One that I have come across several times, is actually wearing gloves, which is where this sub comes in.

Can you recommend me any gloves that are very thin, won't get too warm in hot weather, allow me to still interact with devices while working, and maybe even look nice, just because it would be nice to wear something that looks nice while also being an effective tool for one of my disabilities.

I really appreciate any answers, and when I get myself a pair, I will definitely post some pictures of me wearing them in public, since that is majorly what they are for.

Made a list with a reaction guide for all of my triggers and how they impact me for showing to a doctor when I get a chance.

TW: very descriptive explanation of the trigger reactions, which can be a bit visceral.

I only realized this was Misophonia a few weeks ago, it wasn't something I'd ever heard of, so I just assumed it was normal reactions. Now that I know it's not, I am waiting to see a neuropsychologist, and hopeful that showing this list might help them find some sort of proper coping mechanism or proper resource that I can use while working.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
S = This sound makes me feel violently ill or like I might faint if it goes on for too long, and I have to physically cover my ears, I also struggle to breathe and can not function while the sound is active.
T = I get a very visceral feeling that I have to literally rip my teeth out when I hear this noise, I never will, but for some reason this noise make me feel exactly like that is a rational response, and I reflexively cover my mouth with my hands.
M = This noise makes me incredibly, unreasonably frustrated or angry as soon as I hear it, even though most of them are normal noises that every being makes, but my brain hates them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

T - Rough fabrics rubbing together

S - Furniture moving across carpet

S - Shuffling feet against carpet

T - Sand paper scratching against anything

M - People chewing

M - Dog chewing or licking noises

S - Rubbing chalk against chalk

T - Rubbing hands on weird textured fabric like unreasonably feathery soft fabric

M - Burping

M - Mouth breathing

S - Teeth scraping against teeth

What resources can I use to make my APD and Misophonia more bearable when working in a customer service position?

What can I use to make my APD and Misophonia more bearable while at work in a customer service position?

I work at a gas station where I have to constantly run around and be actively communicating with people. I will put here an explanation for how my hearing works.

I am trying to find a device I can wear while working that will help me focus or sort of block out the overwhelming noises. I know I can't pick and choose what noises come and go, or how effective it is, but I was hoping anyone with similar experiences may be able to point me in the right direction or share their own tips for how they manage.

\---------

Hearing:

I struggle with auditory processing, to a point where I genuinely thought for a while I was hard of hearing. I ended up getting my hearing checked by an audiologist, and it turned out, not only was I able to easily pick out my worst ear, but I was within a reasonable range, so not hard of hearing.

They suggested I get checked for an APD, and offered to fax my hearing report to the doctor whenever I do. Basically how hearing works for me is if there is too much surrounding noise, like I am speaking directly with one person, and two other people suddenly walk by holding a loud conversation, even if I am looking my conversation partner in the eyes and focusing very hard, their voice begins to sound like it is coming through a vacuum tube. Or a garbage disposal.

If someone tries to speak to me and I am not aware they are trying to speak to me, my hearing often comes in delayed. This creates uncomfortable situations where people ask me a question at work as I am walking by, and by the time my brain sends the words to me, they have already decided I don't want to help them and given up.

Certain sounds also become unreasonably overwhelming, and can cause severe frustration, like scratching on sandpaper, or moving certain items, or cloth rustling together. They make me feel very overwhelmed and like I can not focus on anything else. Sometimes the sounds make me want to literally pull my own teeth out.

Been practicing programming for a while, finally have something I am really excited to share! Very very very very tiny demo of it attached.

I am trying to make a game that is close to OG AltLife, text adventure, Portal type vibes. Something retro and fun, I even plan for when I'm done with it, to burn it to DVDs, print CD labels, and stick em on them then sell a limited number of hard copies of my game. Just to bring back some good nostalgia about when ownership of games in physical forms wasn't a quickly dying concept.

I have a good chunk more already written for this game, but don't want to share any more until I have what feels like a genuine demo, at least a good hour or so of game-time for the player.

Right now the only assets I have drawn are the cards, and my favorite part about them is mixing them up in ways that might make you think one choice is more reasonable than another. Basically color coding choices and coercing you to pick something that may not be entirely 'correct'. But in all, it's a humanity/morality simulator/test, so see how HUMANITY and MORALITY you are! (Please, follow the rules, do not question the robots judgement, the robot is always correct).

I am also logging all of the time spent programming this game, and at the end of each week will begin uploading a devlog sharing how much time I spent that week working on it, and what I did in that time, weather it was just add more story, spend the whole week working on a new game mechanic that is still broken and will take more time to work on, or I just drew silly pictures for it!

I would greatly appreciate people's thoughts on my game, or even if you don't wanna share your thoughts, really, I just wanted to show it off because I am really proud of how it is progressing right now! Thank you for reading!!!

My favorite polish brand is silently going out of business, and I just learned about it.

The brand was KleanColor, and they were genuinely the only brand that had colors like this metallic orange and metallic blue that weren't just a bunch of glitter and labeled metallic. They also were the only brand that looked this vibrant and stayed on well. I am down to my last bottles, and hoping anyone might be able to recommend me any kind of replacement, since they already liquidated the last few bottles of these shades. All they have left is like 4 bottles all in colors I don't want, and if I buy from eBay or something, I'll run out again. Hoping someone can share with me a sustainable replacement.

What products are safe and what color is good for natural ginger hair?

Pictures attached for reference (I am 26 years old.)

I have never dyed my hair before. When I was younger I one time got one streak of my hair dyed light blue, bleaching that one streak enough to make the blue blue and not green took ~ 2 hours. I think if I am going to do my hair proper, I only want to do streaks, tips, or half my head minus the roots. I also want to do a dark color, what color would work best and what brand of dye should I go with?

For more information, my hair is also very heavy/there is a lot more of it than it looks, but the individual hairs are more medium to thin, which I think the pictures show well. My hair also tends to be more on the oily side, not sure if that has any impact on the dyed, but I figured the extra info might be helpful just in case.

I am Demi/Greysexual, but am questioning if I am also Demi/Greyromantic, how can I really tell?

I do not really experience any kind of intimate attraction to anyone, but know that if I genuinely trust someone, I could definitely find myself open to that option, depending as well on certain circumstances. I generally do not experience this attraction at all though. I see people all the time talking about how great it is, or how they couldn't live without it, but I genuinely could. I don't feel really any want to do anything loke that. But as I stated before, I genuinely would not be opposed to it either, but only if I really knew someone and knew I could trust them/that we would actually be staying together. I can not do hookups and while I understand why others may be happy doing that kinda thing, I just know I can't.

This is where the actual question comes into play though, I am very aware of my sexuality and do not feel a need to question it much beond that. My question is regarding my romantic attractions.

I always saw myself as panromantic, but recently, while trying to reach out and meet people, I've been wondering if I'm actually closer to demi/grey romantic, but much more in line with demi than grey, while in terms of sexuality I'm closer to grey than demi.

This came about when I started having people genuinely become interested in me, and every time, I just become uncomfortable, like, I wouldn't be opposed to a relationship, but it feels like everything and everyone just wants to move so fast. A few weeks of talking and people already want to go on dates, while I still want to chat. I do 100% feel romantic attraction, I know that. Mostly in terms of, if I meet someone with certain personality traits or who takes a genuine interest in my hobbies, I tend to find them very attractive and can definitely see a potential for a relationship. But when they start actually reaching for one, or trying to flirt/become more romantic I just become immediately uncomfortable and begin to loose that attraction, because it all just feels too quick, and honestly slightly frightening.

I suffer from anxiety/depression as well as OCD and autism, if any of that helps at all, but I'm really not sure if I'm just afraid of relationships, or if I'm aromantic. Hoping someone in this sub can explain to me better how it feels to be aro, or can help me confirm if I'm just being unreasonably anxious and that's whats ending my attractions. Thank you in advance for any information y'all can share!

Co-Consciousness and Functional Multiplicity, A Personal Example, and a Request For a More In Depth Explaination?

I am not 100% sure how any of these things work, and google keeps giving me it's obnoxious AI examples, not a fan of the stuff. Basically, I'm going to explain how my brain processes things in a 'multiple' sense, and do NOT want a diagnosis. I want someone to explain to me properly what both of those terms properly mean wothout AI, and generally why some brains do stuff like this. (Not seeking medical advice, literally just want an educated explaination cause I am genuinely interested in the psychology behind it, and this does not cause me any distress.)

~~~~~~~~~
In my mind, there are 3 beings, two as shadows, and myself, they are all me, and I am the only one with control over myself. In person, when communicating, I am always I/me/myself, in my mind, I am always us/we/ourself.
One of these mind portions is very rational and quick to tell me when I'm 'being an idiot' or doing something reckless, and can quite literally pull up vivid images/memories explaining exactly why/how it is that way.
The other one is slightly more emotional and irrational, and gets scolded by both myself and the more rational one quite often. These happen in the form of actual full on mental conversions, where I am also able to physically hold unrelated conversations with actual people in my day-to-day. I do not lose track of time or memories in any way.
They are also capable of pulling up essentially snap-shots of memories when I myself can not remember answers to questions, or think I do not know how to solve a problem, and they tell me how to solve it properly.
I do not consider them seperate beings, I consider them both a part of my brain and thought process, as this is how I have always processed thought, and believed the same for everyone else, but was always confused when people still acted irrationally. I learned several years ago that not everyone thinks like this, and have become more and more curious.
Can someone explain to me how this works/why some brains function in such a way?
DOUBLE CHECK THE UPDATED PRICES THAT HAPPEN THE DAY AFTER!!
(If you see it twice its cause I posted it in the wrong sub first 😭)
I ordered DD a few days ago, as a treat. I do it maybe once a month, but it had been a few months, so I decided to cave and do it. I add all my tips as full upfront, I do not add an additional one at the end. The next day I see 'order price updated' on my cashapp, with no email telling me why.
I opened doordash and looked at the price update, and apparently now doordash will just ADD dashpass to your last order if you don't sign up for it! So if you happen to be getting any pass benefits without paying, and randomly see your payment go up, take a look and see.
I called and managed to get them to cancel and refund that $9.99, but wth. If I don't subscribe to something, and don't pay for it, I do not want you to just tack it on. This has to be illegal or smn, but I can garuntee I won't be the only one!
