28M | UK | Golden retriever nerd looking for genuine connections

Apparently today is the hottest day in the UK… which is great if you’re into sunshine, less great if you’re built for 12°C and overcast skies like the rest of us. So naturally, I’ll probably spend part of it hiding indoors with a fan, pretending I’m saving the Imperium instead.

Life’s actually going pretty well on paper. I’ve recently had a promotion and a pay rise, which has been a huge confidence boost. But it’s also made me realise that achievements don’t mean as much if you haven’t got good people to celebrate them with.

I’m 28, from the UK, pretty easygoing, and I’ve been told I have serious golden retriever energy. I like keeping active and usually start my weekdays in the gym it’s as much for my head as it is for my body.

Outside of that, I’m a fullon nerd. Gaming is easily my biggest hobby, especially anything with amazing lore or worlds you can disappear into. Halo, Mass Effect, Destiny 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Baldur’s Gate 3, Age of Empires IV, Crusader Kings, Elden Ring… and lately Kingdom Come: Deliverance, where I’m regularly getting humbled by peasants who somehow become master swordsmen the moment they spot me.

I’m also a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Warhammer 40K. I watched the latest Star Wars film recently and absolutely loved it, so I’m always happy to chat about galaxies far, far away. I also collect helmets and other nerdy memorabilia that’s gradually taken over my shelves. At this point, I think the collection owns the room.

On a more personal note, I’ve dealt with depression a couple of times in my life. It’s given me a real appreciation for genuine friendships and people who actually stick around. I try to be that person too—someone who’s happy to listen, check in, or just send you a completely unnecessary meme in the middle of the day.

I’m mainly looking for people who want actual friendships rather than conversations that disappear after a few messages. Whether that’s gaming together, voice chats, sharing memes, talking nonsense throughout the day, or somehow ending up in one of those random 1am conversations about life, the universe, and why we keep buying games we swear we’ll finish.

If you’re kind, easy to talk to, a little nerdy (or a lot), and looking for a genuine connection, I’d love to hear from you.

28M Looking for genuine friendships and good conversations

I’ve realised recently that life can be going really well on paper and you can still feel like something’s missing.

Work has been great lately. I’ve had a promotion, a pay rise, and things are generally moving in the right direction. But it also made me realise I’d like more genuine people to share life with. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve come to value real friendships and meaningful connections.

I’m 28, from the UK, and I’d describe myself as easygoing, loyal, and probably possessing an unhealthy amount of golden retriever energy.

Most weekdays start in the gym. Fitness has become a huge part of my life, not just physically but mentally too. It’s one of the things that helps keep me grounded and focused.

Outside of that, I’m a massive nerd.

Gaming is probably my biggest hobby, especially anything with great world-building, lore, and storytelling. Some of my all-time favourites are Halo, Mass Effect, Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Crusader Kings, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Dragon Age, Red Dead Redemption 2, and pretty much anything that lets me disappear into another world for a few hours.

When I’m not gaming, you’ll usually find me watching something equally nerdy. I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan (extended editions, obviously), love Star Wars, and can happily spend hours talking about fantasy and sci-fi. Whether it’s epic battles, deep lore, great characters, or ridiculous fan theories, I’m probably interested.

I’m also into Warhammer 40k and have slowly accumulated a collection of helmets, collectibles, and nerd memorabilia that’s beginning to take over my shelves.

On a more personal note, I’ve dealt with depression a couple of times in my life. One thing it taught me is how important good people are. Having someone who checks in, listens, remembers the little things, and genuinely cares can make a bigger difference than most people realise. Because of that, I try to be that kind of friend too.

What I’m looking for is pretty simple: genuine friendships with people who want to stick around. Whether that’s gaming together, voice chats, sharing memes, talking throughout the day, debating which sci-fi universe would win in a war, or ending up in one of those random 1am conversations about life.

If you’re kind, easy to talk to, a fellow nerd, a gamer, or just someone looking for a genuine connection, I’d love to hear from you.

[28/M] East England, Golden Retriever nerd Looking for real connections

Recently had one of those moments where you realise life’s going well on paper, but you don’t really have people around to share it with. Work’s been good, promotion, pay rise, things moving forward, and it made me realise I want actual friendships in my life again instead of just keeping to myself.

I’m 28, based in the UK. Big build, laid-back personality, usually running on positive/golden retriever energy. I’m in the gym every weekday morning before work, partly for discipline, partly because it keeps my head straight.

Outside of that, I spend a lot of time gaming, getting lost in lore rabbit holes, or ending up in those random late-night conversations that somehow turn philosophical.

I’ve come through depression twice, which honestly changed how I look at people and friendships. I don’t take good days for granted anymore, and I try to be the kind of person who genuinely shows up for others.

Gaming-wise, I grew up on Halo: CE through Reach. Massive fan of Mass Effect, Crusader Kings III, Elden Ring, and Baldur’s Gate 3. Recently started Kingdom Come: Deliverance and I’m getting absolutely humbled by medieval peasants on a regular basis.

Big LOTR fan too. I collect Halo and Star Wars helmets, and I’m currently building a Necron army for Warhammer 40k.

Mainly looking for solid people in the UK to actually build a friendship with, people to talk to regularly, game with, maybe hit the gym, go for hikes, or just share life with a bit. If you’re easygoing, enjoy nerdy depth, and can hold a real conversation, we’ll probably get along well.

I’m 28, from the UK, pretty easygoing, and I’ve been told I have strong golden retriever energy. I’m into fitness and usually start my weekdays at the gym because it’s as good for my head as it is for my body.

Outside of that, I’m a massive nerd. Gaming is probably my biggest hobby, especially games with incredible worlds and stories. Halo, Mass Effect, Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Crusader Kings, and lately Kingdom Come: Deliverance, where I’m spending a lot of time getting humbled by random peasants with sticks.

I’m also into Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Warhammer 40k, and collecting helmets and various bits of nerdy memorabilia that have slowly taken over my shelves.

A little more personally, I’ve dealt with depression a couple of times in my life, and it’s made me appreciate genuine connection a lot more. I know how much it means to have people who check in, listen, and stick around, so I try to be that kind of friend too.

I’m mainly looking for people who want actual friendships rather than a few messages that disappear after a day. Whether that’s gaming together, voice chats, sharing memes, random conversations throughout the day, or those unexpected deep 1am talks about life and everything else.

If you’re kind, easy to talk to, a bit nerdy, or just looking for someone genuine to chat with, send me a message. I’d love to meet some good people.
