Any lifestyle recs?

I’m way new to this. In early June i felt some tissue go through my urethra while peeing and it’s been a wild ride up until today when i was told my second TURBT got it all and nothing found in the muscles. My doctor zoom is tomorrow, but i gather i have BCG coming up and lots more testing.

Has anyone done a deep dive on whether there is anything i can do, take, eat or drink (or not do/eat/drink) that could help keep my high grade tumors from returning?

Thanks for any advice!

How do I prove my old residence?

I used to live near the World Trade Center and have recently been diagnosed with an illness that qualifies me for health benefits. I would need to prove my residence in 2001-2002. My personal documents don’t get me what i need. I have tried everything i can think of — credit cards, banks, utilities, landlord, IRS, SS etc. No one keeps documents that old. Any ideas? Is there a resource or service that specializes in “cold case” document searches like this?

Digital contact sheet in NYC?

Hi - i need a digital contact sheet made from a roll of b/w film negative. The issue I’m finding is labs wants to charge me per frame but i don’t need individual scans like that, i just need the whole sleeve of negative scanned as a positive on a flatbed (i am doing this to prove i have the negatives of an old roll of film). Any suggestions of a place that could do this for a reasonable fee? Flatiron/Chelsea area would be ideal.

Need help finding the right adapter for old hard drive - Hitachi HTS541680J9AT00

I'm new to stuff like this. I have an old laptop and am trying to see if I can find some crucial data on the hard drive. Laptop didn't turn on, so I just took the hard drive out. But I'm not sure how to plug it into my modern macbook air. I gather I need a Sata to USB adapter but the pin pattens on the SATA III models look different than the pins on this drive. Do i need a different adapater? Thanks!

Get proof of old address

I need to get confirmation that I lived at an address back in 2002. I was there for 16 years, but I'm finding it really hard because banks, my accountant, credit cards, my employer (still the same), my company's CPA, utilities all delete statements and records after 7 years. I have old drivers licenses and other documents, but all from 2000 and before or 2004 and after.

I have requests in to IRS and my state tax department and DMV, but I have little faith in these (all three required me to mail in the request, so, who even knows if it arrived given the USPS). Social Security said they have no old statements (I have one from 2004). All three credit bureaus were useless because they had my old address from a few years before the target year, but have a few random addresses after, so it doesn't really show the history. Any other ideas?

AITA - For not reporting a leak from my upstairs neighbor to the landlord

I (M59) and my wife (F52) own a brownstone with my wife's family. We live in the Garden apartment, and my brother in law rents out his 3rd floor apartment for a high rent to a tenant couple. I have been forced into the position of super because no one else steps up. It's not that bad -- i deal with the garbage and supervise contractors for any building wide repairs.

Last night, my wife and I were out and got a text from our daughter (F16) that there was a bad leak from the ceiling. Fearing a burst pipe, I call the tenant and he admitted it was a "spill." I asked him to check on the floor between our apartments and if there was any leak, could he deal with it. He sent a text with a full description of the leak in the parlor and his clean up and offered to pay for any damage.

When I got home, we dried our floor. It didn't look too bad, a rug got wet and there was some water on the floor. By morning we saw there were wet stains on our ceiling and some other damp spots in closets. My wife was very upset because the water was brown and yuck, and annoyed at having to deal with this at all. She told me I had to tell my brother in law about the spill and I didn't see why given the tenant had offered to pay for any damage. And also, why couldn't she tell her own brother? (Her answer was, family dynamics). She insisted and got pretty belligerent about it, calling me a coward several times. As a compromise, I told her I would tell the tenant he had to tell his landlord (my BIL), but she continued on me, calling me a coward numerous more times and being quite aggressive.

Now, for context, three weeks ago I received a bladder cancer diagnosis, and have surgery scheduled for next week. I already had tons of blood tests and scary medical reports and a cystoscopy which was the single most invasive thing I've ever experienced (look it up). I think I'm handling it all pretty well, so to call me a coward numerous times, including after I asked her to stop, I think is pretty awful for anyone, let alone a spouse. And more context, ourdaughter was absolutely in earshot of all of this.

I thought my way of dealing with it was fine -- insist the tenant tell his landlord and have the tenant pay for any damage. AITA for not feeling compelled to tell my BIL myself?

QuickDraw question

When i was a kid in the 70s, there was a cartoon episode that absolutely destroyed me (with laughter). I don’t remember much, but i can see an animal character (maybe a hound or a horse, standing upright) and he’s southern and charming. He’s singing a little song about baking a pie maybe. I think he’s ambling along a riverbank with trees. And he does this shuffle walk where he backs a step or two and then continues forward. That little shuffle step is what i loved so much. I’m guessing maybe it was an ep of QuickDraw McGraw or Huckleberry Hound. Does this ring any bells?

Oxford/United Healthcare rate increase question

Hey - I've been with Oxford in NYC for like 20 years most of it seeing a doctor once a year for physical. Barely any medications, just standard stuff like occasional dermatologist looksee, colonoscopy etc. In the last few years, I've had to have some scans and interventions and both times, they were reactions to medications or supplements my Primary recommended. And nothing was found that had to be treated (duh, because I stopped taking the pills). Anyway, I just got a note from Oxford saying my rates are going up 30% next year, I assume because I am suddenly costing them a few bucks. Can this be fought somehow? Thanks for any advice!

Looking for violinist to play with

I’m more of a songwriter than a musician but i have a few originals and covers that I’ve been playing solo acoustic and I’d love to hear how they sound with a violin. Would getting together to work these out interest anyone? I’d be open to playing some open mics later but mainly I’d love to just try some stuff maybe in a rehearsal room or somewhere. My more recent music is not on Spotify but first two EPs are - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7aV9Rc8VqIFfbMp0vuaAkF?si=BsfFqxjDThySq39RJqGf7g&pi=MD-NNV4oR6S73

Doors are 5pm. Show is at 6pm. Any idea if they actually will go on at 6 or more like 7? The venue is fairly early to close, but I think its more like 11pm. Thanks if anyone has inside info.

I am looking to title for a book about masculinity and PT thought more deeply about and wrote the most eloquent songs about the subject than any other lyricist. But all i can come up with is WHAT ABOUT THE BOY? But i think there must be something better. Any other ideas? Can be a longer quote — my favorite book title in years is IN THE DAYS OF MY YOUTH I WAS TOLD WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MAN. Great book, too.
