I'm looking for sneakers that I can look casual-cool wearing outside, while also being good for a casual office.

I'd prefer something simplistic, with minimal to no branding. Not chunky looking, and with a wide toe-box. I already have New Balance 990s, and even those are too branded for the office look I want.

My current office shoe are Eccos with a leather upper, but I've heard that the quality has dropped in recent years so I'd like to try a different brand.

I also walk a LOT. I'll go on walks after work, or just meet friends after. So I need a shoe that's comfortable for walking.

If possible, I'd like to keep the price under $125.

It's a fucking pity-party out here. Every dating post is "woe is me."

It's seriously a cringe-fest. All of you act like God's gift to mankind while complaining about your lack of dating prospects. You spend your time bitching on reddit about how you're single, then get upset when someone tells you to touch grass.

You pretend to be fighting for "men's rights," when in fact you're just fighting for purely selfish reasons. I bet that, if you somehow find a way, the moment you get in a relationship you'll stop "fighting."

Newsflash: You lack social skills. It's not that you're short. It's not that your ugly. It's that you have no experience talking to other humans beings. That's why your vocabulary consists of internet-speak and buzzwords.

If this is you, you deserve to be single. Improving yourself doesn't mean going to the gym and watching pickup artists. It means fixing your self-pitying attitude and learn to have a decent conversation.

If you really want to fight for men's rights, fight for healthier male social spaces.

Seriously. It's the same opinions over and over again:

Pretty much every dating post on here is someone venting about why they can't get laid/get a girlfriend. And then they pass it off as some profound unpopular opinion.

And then you have the same people in the comments acting like they're experts on dating, while also complaining that they can't get a date.

It's pity party central that generally devolves into people just hurling insults.

It doesn't help that there's at least three a day.

TL:DR - All of these dating "unpopular opinions" are just people venting in disguise. They should be banned, or at least reduced.

P.S. - I know it's kind of hypocritical that I'm complaining about venting posts when this is technically one as well

My gf and I really love horror. I wanted to see if there was a horror game we could play together on the couch.

My girlfriend doesn't particularly like shooting games, so Re5 and 6 are sadly out.

In the past 15 years (at least), I've seen an insanely large amount of parents giving their kids smartphones. I've also seen too many parents just drop a tablet in front of their child and then leave them unsupervised.

The negative effects of things like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat reels, on the human psyche are not a secret. Attention spans are reducing. Children are becoming less literate. Behavior is down the fucking drain. It is NOT good to give your kid unfettered access to a smartphone/tablet.

There's no reason your child needs a smartphone. Absolutely none. Parents have given some reasons as to why their child MUST have an iPhone:

"I need to contact my child in case of emergencies."

Get a flip-phone. They're $15 at Walmart.

"I need to track my child."

Get a flip phone and an airtag. If you want to spend more money, get a smartwatch. You can track them, they can make calls, etc. But they don't have unsupervised access to the internet.

"If my child doesn't have a smartphone, they'll get bullied."

This is not something new. People have gotten made fun of for not having the most recent/expensive sneakers. That doesn't mean you need to give in. Real friends won't actually care.

If you want to push further, try talking to other parents about the dangers of the smartphone.

Being a parent often means being tough. If you want your child to develop healthily, you sometimes have to force them to do things they don't want / not give them things they do want. Like making them eat vegetables.

If you can't do that, you're not fit to be a parent.

I have over 150,000 photos in my iCloud (more than enough space for them) and am trying to download them to an external drive. The external drive is set up as the System Photo Library and iCloud is set to "download originals to this mac."

I've been trying for days but I can't get the iCloud photos to show up on my MacBook. It went through the whole "syncing with cloud" thing for days, yet it still says I only have one photo for March after finishing.

I've checked on iCloud.com that the photos are indeed on the cloud.

Is there anything I can do? This is absolutely infuriating, especially since the photos being on iCloud means I can't import them by cable to my MacBook either.

So I'm in an NYC apartment and Fios recently came to our building. We've had what I assume are fiber cables (they go along the ceiling through a hole above the door from hallway) since I moved in, but only recently have they been hooked up to a large Verizon box in the hallway.

I'm switching from Spectrum to Verizon and they sent me the routers, but I can't figure out where to plug it in. They said to follow the cable, but it just leads into the wall. No ONT box or anything.

Their tech can come in three weeks, but I've also heard they wont cut into walls without my landlord's permission (and my landlord never responds to anything. Any thoughts?

So I do a lot of streaming and a good amount of uploading/downloading for my work (not huge files).

I wanted to switch from Spectrum since they increased my 500mbps bill to $60 without notice. I called and they offered 1gig for $50 a month.

I wanted to check in with Verizon since some people swear by them. They offered 500mbps for $55 a month, and 1gig for $65. They'd come with Verizon gift cards of $150 and $300 respectively.

So here are my options: Spectrum: 1000/45 up and down ($50) Verizon: 500/500 ($55) 1000/1000 ($65)

What do yall think? Is it worth paying extra money to switch to Verizon Fios? Even if I just go with the 500, which is what I have now?

I'm trying to sync a large iCloud library (90k photos) with my Mac photos library (on a 16tb external drive).

All the sync to icloud settings are turned on, both on the iPhone and mac, but nothing is showing up. It's only showing 1 photo for the entirety of January because the rest are on iCloud.

I'm not sure what to do. On the bottom it says "Syncing with iCloud" but it has been stuck on "1 item on this mac only" for two hours.

I've tried signing out of iCloud on the mac but it just spins and spins.

Any ideas?

My specs are:

Ryzen 5600x, 32gb DDR4, Rtx 2080s. Running on an SSD

Online performance has never been great. Single player runs 200-300fps easily.

Zombie Survival runs terribly. It shoots anywhere from 130 - 30 fps depending on what's happening. My CPU and GPU aren't really utilized, so my GPU is only reaching 1100hz clocks.

I'm running the 64bit branch. I did the m_core autoexec.cfg file thing (with a bunch of different commands). Nada.

Other people seem to not really have this issue. Any ideas?

I was going to buy an item listed at $200. I offered $150. The guy said "Yes. Meet me today. Here is my address."

I tell him I can come at X time after work. He said sure. I went to the bank and took out cash. Decided to message him 30 min before I left, just in case.

Guy says "yes, come here with the $200." I said "you agreed to $150."

"No."

I'm really glad I checked in beforehand. Had I gotten there and he refused to sell it to me for $150, I'd have been ever more pissed. Just reported the guy and moved on.

Just a rant. FB marketplace is such a mess sometimes.

Edit: He increased the price to $250 after the conversation
