i've been using Premiere Pro for editing for around 5–6 years, while Resolve has mainly been my color grading software.

the problem is that for smaller/quick projects, i'll often just do the basic grade in Premiere because sending the timeline to Resolve feels like extra hassle. and i've started noticing that this friction actually affects the quality of my work.

so i'm thinking of biting the bullet and learning Resolve properly as my main NLE instead of constantly jumping between the two.

the problem is... i'm basically a beginner when it comes to the editing side of Resolve. i'm already comfortable with the Color page, but the rest is a different story. i'm noticeably slower than i am in Premiere.

would you recommend:

doing the official Blackmagic beginner training from scratch?

learning Resolve by translating my existing Premiere workflow into it? (shortcuts, presets etc)

or just switching and figuring things out through actual projects?

also, what are the biggest blind spots people have when moving from Premiere to Resolve? what features/workflows do you miss from Premiere, and what does Resolve genuinely do better?

and one of the biggest things holding me back is my huge library of SFX, transitions, assets and other editing stuff. how does that whole ecosystem translate to Resolve? can i bring most of it over or am i basically rebuilding my library?

if you've made the Premiere → Resolve switch, i'd love to hear what you wish you knew beforehand, especially the stuff tutorials don't really tell you.

looking for a proper pair of wired headphones for editing on PC. i'll be wearing them for long sessions, so comfort is a big priority.

not really looking for gaming headphones or anything with that big call centre mic attached lol. preferably just normal studio/monitoring headphones.

mainly need:

neutral/natural sound for editing and basic mixing

good detail and separation

comfortable for 4–8 hour sessions

•detachable cable would be nice

doesn't need a mic

under 10k PKR

used or new is fine

what models should i look for locally? also open to older studio headphones if they're better value used.

got my learner's license a while ago and now trying to get my permanent motorcycle license ASAP.

i've heard the actual test can vary a lot depending on the center/officer, so i don't want to walk in completely clueless.

- and honestly... do you need a reference/bribe or is the test actually straightforward if you can ride properly? don't wanna waste time in this garmi 😭

- what exactly do they make you do?

- do i need to bring my own CD 70?

- do i need my own helmet?

- how strict are they about small mistakes?

- how long does the whole process usually take?

I’m a video editor, and I’m between jobs rn but even when working from home, it gets pretty isolating. WFH sounds great until you realize you spend most of your day alone.

I recently found out about the “third place” idea from the book 'The Great Good Place' (I watched a video about it actually, I'm not the kind who reads books). Basically, it means a regular place outside your home and work where you can hang out, meet people, and slowly build a community.

What are the actual third places in Karachi? I want somewhere affordable where I can meet filmmakers, artists, musicians, designers, writers, or just interesting people.

Not another expensive cafe where everyone sits on their laptop.

Looking for something decent/reliable with replacement brush heads actually available in Pakistan.

Prefer rechargeable, good battery life, and ideally something from Oral-B/Philips or another reputable brand.

Is 5–10k a good budget or should I stretch it?

No matter what sunscreen or moisturizer I use, my face gets extremely oily, shiny, and even looks darker after a while.

I've tried:

Skin Aqua Clear White

Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel (blue bottle, Japanese)

Diligence Sunsative SC

Jenpharm Dermive Oil-Free Moisturizer

No matter what I use, within an hour or two (sometimes immediately) my face turns into an oily, shiny mess and somehow looks a shade darker.

Anyone else experienced this? Is it my skin, the products, or am I missing something?

1. 30K for mouse + keyboard (mechanical + media keys would be nice)
2. 15K for headphones? (comfortable for long sessions) No RGB/gamery stuff. What’s the best combo?
