Endoscopy results, how soon?

I finally am going to do my first endoscopy. I’m so nervous for the results. Terrified of having something scary. Been like 2 months of chest pain and it’s not fun at all.

How long does it take to hear the results?

Black mold from shower cause chest tightness?

I’ll try to be brief here. I had some gross mold in my bathtub and shower for months. Under my bath Matt was especially gnarly. I tracked the start of symptoms to when we cleaned my bathroom, to the same week.

Chest ct scan shows my heart and lungs are good and healthy. Doctors say GERD which it probably is but want to hear some stories maybe here. Going to doctor again soon.

Could this cause chest tightness for like 8 weeks? Before cleaning the bathroom I had weekly headaches too and runny noses a lot like allergies. Throat was fine and no cough. I’ll ask my doctor too but for now I guess I’ll go with GERD even though I barely ever had symptoms or heartburn in my life.

Thank you for any advice or stories

Weight loss on PPI medication?

I started PPI medication pantoprazol and have had to change my diet for GERD. I’m used to drinking a Starbucks large peppermint mocha every morning and a lot of bad foods. Now I’m still so hungry during the day but scared to eat snacks or things that can trigger the reflux. Ive truly been eating a lot healthier and I’m starting to notice improvement for GERD the past few days.

I’m asking if losing weight from the medicine or my diet is possible. I’ll definitely tell my doctor in 2 weeks when I go but I’m worried. I’ve been stressed so much the past 2 months.

I went from 145 in middle July to 134 today when I checked. Bloodwork is good from a week ago

Daily chest pain for 2 months

Hey all,

I’ve been having chest pain almost constantly for maybe 8 weeks now. Did 14 days of Prilosec otc and I was feeling good by day 6 but then day 11 I started having some coffee and orange juice in the morning.

That’s my only main symptom is dead center in the chest between my pecs. Sometimes in the back too but that’s rare. I made a gastrointestinal appointment to talk to a doctor but this shit is making me so depressed

Anyway now I have Pantoprazol after going to the ER this weekend for chest pains. It’s dull and in the middle of my chest and sometimes my back or armpits.

They did a CT chest scan with contrast to rule out lung issues. They didn’t find anything else concerning. Blood work was good.

My question is how long do I need to be on medication to hopefully feel better? I was super stressed also the past few months and was taking Advil probably every other day for a headache but I’ve been taking it like that since probably almost a year. My diet was also very bad, burgers, fried chicken, pizza, peppermint mocha every morning before breakfast for maybe 2 years?

Thanks for any advice!

Is 1 hour and 30 minutes enough to catch my next flight at Gatwick?

I “should” be landing at 13:30 and my next plane leaves at 15:30

Is that enough time? Flying in from Montenegro and flying out to Iceland

EDIT: Thank you all! Appreciate the peace of mind!

How long to heal?

Hi friends,

This chest pain all started from weight lifting I believe. 5 weeks ago my skinny ass started lifting free weights again.

Basically my chest in the middle mostly but sometimes more up and right hurt like an aching feeling all day. My armpits too and sometimes my middle back. Some days are worse, some days my chest won’t even hurt, just my back. Anxiety isn’t helping I’ve been stressing out over a Europe trip. It peaked last week going through 4 countries in 3 days. One day I stayed awake 36 hours straight

Doctor did bloodwork and said it’s GERD. I’ve been taking Prilosec for 5 days now. I’m not convinced it’s that internal though. I don’t feel lymph nodes on my armpits.

I’m wondering if it’s costo? I’m skinny af 145 lbs at 6’ usually feels like someone is sitting on my chest

Thanks for any help!

Gastritis or possible ulcer

Hey friends

I went to a clinic and was given Prilosec OTC (omeprazole) from my doctor for 2 weeks. Blood test was normal.

Symptoms are chest pain in the middle and eating hurts and then my stomach feels full fast. Sometimes in my back too. Taking very small bites and struggling to eat but I know I’m hungry. Also I was having some bad bowel movements maybe 3 daily, not diarrhea but like soft and fast just coming out and kinda yellow

My question is should I stay with this medication or do an endoscopy? She suggested I should for gastrointestinal issues but I’d rather wait and see because I’m obviously nervous they find something super scary and I would freak out. Today is my first day taking the pill and I’m wondering when it usually works to improve my stomach and make my appetite back to normal.

Some more info, been super stressed the past few weeks about a big Europe trip. I take Advil almost daily and coffee each morning. I’ve since stopped both since 4 days ago. Like really stressed out, doctor said this can definitely cause issues with stomach lining. My diet the past few months has been Chick Fil A, Jimmy John’s, burgers and fries, etc.

Any advice? I just want to feel better. Thanks!

Chest pain and back pain with bad anxiety

Hey all I’ve had GERD for over 10 years now. I’m 32 male and most of the time my symptoms are under control. If I don’t eat too late I’m good but sometimes I get this stomach ache in my abdomen but drinking sprite or something to burp really helps and I feel better. Happens maybe once a month?

The past 4 weeks I’ve been having chest pain. Sometimes in the morning waking up or walking for a while or during eating. Last night though I felt like a back pain but more inside my back. If I wrap around it’s about the same location to my chest center between nipples. I don’t take medicine for GERD

I’ve had a Europe trip planned since January but the stress these last weeks had been building and with this back pain last night I started believing I could have cancer and was freaking out. So the anxiety is crazy right now.

My question is could the stress about flying and being so far away cause these symptoms? Besides those I get shortness of breath sometimes like i breathe heavier than normal and I’ve been taking gnarly shits the past few mornings. Not diarrhea but like soft serve ice cream sorry TMI. Thank you for any advice

Why is left side slightly bigger? Results in post

Anyone able to answer this please? Left side by mole is a little bigger. I can feel two like balls possibly lymph nodes on each side but the mole side one feels bigger.

CT scan results
SOFT TISSUE NECK WITH CONTRAST

INDICATION: r/o Eagle's syndrome or other abnormality..

TECHNIQUE: During uneventful administration of intravenous contrast,
thin section axial images were obtained of the neck. Coronal and
sagittal reformations performed.

COMPARISONS: None available.

FINDINGS:
Thin ossification is seen along portions of both stylohyoid ligaments
is partially discontinuous and extends over a longer segment than
typical, measuring 3.9 cm from the base of the styloid process on the
left and 4.1 cm on the right. Nearby carotid and jugular vessels
appear normal. The left internal jugular vein is congenitally small.

No cervical adenopathy or mucosal abnormalities are seen.

The thyroid appears normal. The parotid glands appear normal. The
submandibular glands appear mildly larger than typical but symmetric
and homogeneous appearing. No masses or calcifications. No ductal
dilatation. Most likely normal variation.

Bones appear normal. Mastoid air cells and the visualized paranasal
sinuses are clear. The visualized lung apices are clear.

  1. Thin ossification along portions of both stylohyoid ligaments
extends more caudally and is considered normal. This appearance would
be compatible with mild Eagle syndrome. No associated apparent
vascular compression or other abnormality is within the neck.
  2. The submandibular glands appear mildly prominent but are symmetric
and homogeneous appearing. Likely normal variation.

Adams Apple anatomy?

No medication

No symptoms

I sometimes get hyper focused on feeling my neck after shaving. Is it normal for the Adams apple to have like little balls on each side around the outer center?

I had a neck CT scan years ago and all was well but I’m wondering how the outside area around the Adams Apple should feel? Are there lymph nodes there?

Crazy neighbors

Anyone else have a guy in the building who is schizophrenic ?

Someone around my building is always yelling loud and walking around ready to kill somebody it seems like. Dude yells the N word and is crazy. Just goes on rants yelling walking around.

Landlord just puts up with it “oh that’s just Rick he’s harmless, wouldn’t hurt a fly!”

I noticed the right side of my Adams apple is bigger. In this picture I am puffing my cheeks with air to try and show it better. I’m a hypochondriac. Should I worry about this?
