Big Bend is in danger.

Big Bend National Park in Texas is protected public lands but the protections have been waived.

Big Bend is located in the largest dark sky region in the entirety of the lower United States.
It is home to over 1,200 plant species, 450 bird species, and rare wildlife like the Mexican black bear. The ecosystem is very fragile because it features a delicate, slow-recovering Chihuahuan Desert ecosystem. Human history in the region spans at least 13,000 years, featuring fragile and rare prehistoric resources like hearths, earth ovens, and petroforms with high structural and historical integrity.

I’ve created these banners, feel free to share, to educate about the park. And the travesty is that is currently happening.

I’ve included photos of the beginning of the devastation and a photo of light pollution levels (it’s that dark spot on Texas).

world’s largest dark sky area is in danger!

Big Bend National Park is the world’s largest dark sky area. The Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve encompasses over 9 million acres across West Texas and parts of Mexico, according to Dark Sky International.
It features the darkest measured night skies in the lower 48 United states, offering naked-eye views of thousands of stars and the Milky Way. The national park is public protected land but the protections have been waived.

There is currently bulldozers inside the park. I made these banners to educate about the park. If you live in Texas, please call & email your reps. This is a travesty.

I’ve included photos of the light pollution map to demonstrate the relevance of this topic to this sub, and also photos at the end of the construction beginning.

This is truly devastating to star lovers everywhere.

Ordered from UK store months ago

Hey! This might be a weird question for this sub but I’m hoping this someone can give me some advice. I placed an order thru the UK store May 6 and have been patiently waiting. The items were sold out in the US store so I figured - no problem. But now I’ve received this email from customs and I’ve never encountered this before, I order frequently from Japan and Korea for skincare. I ordered a CD & the bat fan (my show sold out on bat fans ): ) I can tell this isn’t spam but unsure why I have to consult with customs for a CD. Anyone experienced this before?

Side mirror replacement help

Attempting to replace my passenger side mirror on my Dodge Dart 2014 SE.
do I need to order a new circle piece for the backing? It’s really hard to tell from photos and also the videos online are mostly for entire mirror replacements. Really hoping I don’t have to take my door off for a mirror break. I’ve replaced it in the past but never broken the back circle piece mounting.

Sunlit man questions

Hello! Im really late to the sunlit party! The only books I haven’t read yet in the cosmere: Warbreaker, Elantris, Yumi, & mistborn era 2 (I know I know, I hate Westerns though)
I’m currently reading Sunlit Man.
I haven’t read any cosmere books since WAT & am so lost as to who Sigzil is! The name, aux, even sounds more familiar to me than Sigzil, which is concerning me greatly. Why is he world hopping? How did he get a shard? Why is Hoid not assisting him? What did I miss? I’m very confused by what his actual agenda is? why is his Spren acting robotic? I am very sad lol. I like the mad max vibes of the book but wow, I’m overwhelmed by my own questions reading this.

Is it possible to paddle up river in Guadalupe State Park?

Is it possible to paddle up river in Guadalupe State park? Or do I need a shuttle service? I'm finding conflicting info online about whether it's doable.
Very conflicted about where to paddle tomorrow with all the rain.
Any other recommendations? Was considering Pace Bend as a back up but I prefer rivers, I always end up in San Marcos lol (San Marcos pictured)

Some resources online say to not let the plant flower and when it does, to snip it. Should I? Does this affect the plant reproducing?

First year I’m gonna get to harvest fruit <3

I need advice for my blackberry bush, I’ve had it for 3 years in the ground now, in Houston, Tx. I bought it from a local garden center when it was a singular stick lol I’ve been letting it grow as it pleases without trimming since I planted since it hasn’t produced fruit yet (this year yay) it did produce them last year but they were very small and never ripened.

I’ve been reading online about how I should trim the plant after harvesting but I’ve seen some conflicting info.

Also, should I provide more support?

Any advice? Thank you in advance
