What is wrong with my AC?

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. It’s an oldie, but it still gets me to work and back, knock on wood. But for probably four years, I find that I always bring my car to the mechanic to get the AC fixed. They tell me that there is a leak, that they cannot detect and then put Freon into my car that only lasts about a month. They said to bring it back when the Freon is done so that they can see where the leak is.

I now have a different mechanic to look at my car next week. Years ago, they told me that it needs two new parts. But one of the parts they need to order and that it would take weeks to get there. They told me it would cost $1,300 and at the time I did not want to spend the money. But now, I will be taking the L and going to spend the money. My commute is 45 minutes and driving in 85+ weather is dreadful. I am hoping to get a new car by the end of this year but saving as much money as I can for a good down payment.

How can I (30F) support my boyfriend (32M)?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 4 years now. We are in our early thirties and just moved in together in September.

Our relationship is fine. We don’t ever fight and still go on date nights, vacations, and always enjoy each others company. Although I am unsure if this is a red flag or not, I find that he has very little motivation to find a better paying job with benefits. And one where he is happy or at least satisfied. He currently works at a liquor store doing stocking and the register and he’s unhappy where he is. He has applied to jobs but will sometimes not hear back after the first interview. He has no health and dental and hasn’t seen a doctor and dentist in probably seven years.

I am a teacher that makes about $65,000 + an extra $10,000 for working the summer. This salary only really supports myself and even with rent, bills, loans, I’m still a bit tight. He makes less than I do. Although money isnt necessarily everything, he says he won’t propose to me until he has a better job.

I find that when his family asks about how his job search is going or offer him some sort of advice, he becomes stressed and doesn’t really listen to them. They do ask him quite a bit, so I understand the annoyance. I find that he won’t listen to people, not even to me. He feels that since he’s in his thirties, he feels that it is too late. I am not sure how to support him without him getting too stressed out and overwhelmed. I find that he tends to spiral. If something goes wrong such as, breaking a dish or something, he relates to how he sucks and can’t find a job.

Should I not attend my friends wedding?

Hello! I got invited to my friends wedding who I have not seen in probably five years. She lives about 4 hours away and although that is not too far, we barely keep in touch anymore. We met through mutual friends and I feel bad not going because she really likes me.

I’ve said no the engagement party, the bridal shower, and the bachelorette party. But I feel somewhat obligated to go the wedding. I have a feeling I will go the wedding and then probably never see her again. Considering I haven’t seen her in five years. What should I do? My other friends will be there.

What are the benefits of Bikram yoga?

Yesterday I did my first Bikram yoga class and I thought it was quite interesting. I prefer hot vinyasa more because I tend to feel like I’ve gotten more of a “workout” in. I’m curious, what are the benefits of Bikram yoga? What kind of results do you see after consistently doing it? Does Bikram help tone the body?

District 11?

I’m looking to get out of my private school in the Bronx and work for the DOE. My friend told me to look into district 11. What schools do you recommend for K-2 positions?

What are good public schools in the Bronx?

I currently live in Westchester and I commute to my private school in Bronx (45 min drive). I’ve been applying to Westchester schools but I’m not hearing back. I’m looking for an elementary school position in the Bronx, as I do not think my current preschool position looks marketable and I’d also like to make more in salary. My friend told me that Westchester doesn’t necessarily like charter schools, unsure why.

What are good public schools in the Bronx that are in a good neighborhood and also a good school generally? I’d like to keep the commute to less than an hour. Ideally looking for a K-2 position.

What to eat before yoga?

I work until 4:00 on the weekdays and find that I am starving afterwards. I want to start an evening Bikram class once a week but I don’t want to over eat and eat nothing at all. What is something to eat that is good before Bikram that will fulfill my appetite a little and not make me too full? Also how much water should I drink?

Hello! Been doing yoga and hot yoga for a year now, I love it! I love hot vinyasa, power vinyasa and hot HIIT, but I am tempted to try Bikram. I’m quite hesitant because I’ve never done Bikram and the thought of the room being even more hotter than what I’m getting used to, makes me cautious. I’ve thought about doing a 60 min Bikram class just to see how I feel.

What are the benefits of Bikram? Can Bikram be dangerous? What are some things I need to know? Is Bikram good for strength your body and core?

I am a teacher applying for another job. I can’t help but feel reluctant to apply for jobs because I get extremely nervous during interviews. I feel that mind sometimes will go blank or that sometimes I have too much in my mind to figure out how to communicate it.

How can I prepare?
