The place where I started as hospitalist 6 years ago still offers same base compensation for new hires, of course you can make more if you make “more rvus” but that is basically more work

Why do physicians salaries remain same despite increasing inflation and cost of living? And what physicians can do to change it ?

Why is that ?

I take care of all the expenses at home, my wife has no idea how much is for bills etc, she is totally tension free.
She is now working and I still give her her monthly pocket money but now she is earning and wants me to use her money to fill petrol in car because she doesn’t like to go to petrol station lol and I understand her.
I have already got her the car and paying for it for a 2 years and really don’t mind paying for its petrol in it but now she is insisting that I should keep her debit card to put petrol and anything related to car?
I told her how much I loved her gesture to contribute but its really not necessary but she is insisting
What would you do?

Is it over? I feel like it is but I want you to ask the world if anyone here who has failed step 1 and passed on second attempt and was able to get into residency? Or should i give up?

I don’t know what is the reason behind this and how to overcome this. I am able to eat good in morning, lunch and even afternoon. But, after dinner there is constant desire to keep eating. Once i start eating then i want to continue.
I have tried not to buy snacks thinking if there is nothing to binge then I won’t eat that much. But then sometimes order. Then one day becomes two days and then a week realizing i have wasted the progress of last few weeks to eat healthy and lose some weight.
I have tried to eat more in dinner but still the constant desire to keep eating till i go to bed
How to overcome this ?

How are in earth people waiting 20-30 minutes for $7-9 drink ? Whats so special about that place.
Not judging people but trying to understand whats the hype is about?

If anyone living abroad who got property or land in heritage that is in common name for all siblings, how did you get your “hissa” and sell it out. As my family doesn’t want to divide or sell anything ? I know going to court is not a option as the cases can go on till my grandkids become adults lol

In your shop how do you deal with “iv pain medicine demanders?? Who just want IV pain medicine

Eg: comes in, the previous provider had them on IV dialudid that patient is asking and getting on the dot, all workup for acute pain is non revealing. Chart review is supportive of similar previous admissions. Staff seen the patient walking, eating and doing okay but as soon the doctor enters they have the “ worst pain ever” and “refuse to stop iv pain medication” despite reassurance and encouragement to take Po instead.

What is your method to deal with such situations? How do you word your conversations ??

Without any PED how much times does it take to see a noticeable difference with calorie deficit diet and weight lifting exercise. Asking for someone who has 28 percent body fat, active 3-4 days per week and if eats clean consistently

Only if they want to spend the tax money on their own population to do some good, do you think it will ever happen???
