Thinking about what it looks like if they don't try to recreate Hogan and just let Luger have a longer heel run. Lot of potentially good stuff against Bret, Undertaker, Razor, and others that just never got explored.

Bret - Guy that prides himself on doing things the right way vs the guy that knocks people out with the metal plate in his arm.

Undertaker - Guy who's seemingly impossible to hurt now has to deal with someone with an implanted foreign object. Great opportunity for Lex to be a 🐔 💩 heel too.

Razor - "You walk around, thinking you're all that, chico? I've been there, I've done that, mang, and that's no kinda life."

1-2-3 Kid - Plucky up-and-comer gets in some good offense before being cut down with the forearm, and even put in the Rack for extra heat.

Shawn and Diesel further down the line, if he's happy with his spot and stays through 1995 and beyond. Then maybe you see what you can get out of him as a babyface.

I know it's a lot of woulda-coulda-shoulda, but I like thinking about this kind of stuff.

[This rewrites 1991 to assume health for both Piper and Undertaker, and assumes Piper's willingness to put Undertaker over, which I acknowledge is a lot to assume.]

Piper's Pit: Piper conducts an interview with The Rockers.

They declare themselves the best tag team in the world today, and issue a challenge to anyone who will step in the ring with them. The segment is interrupted by Paul Bearer.

Bearer: Ohhh, yesss...

Piper: What do YOU want?!

Jannetty: Hey, we're doin' an interview here!

Michaels: What're you doing?!

Bearer: I've come with a message from my Undertaker... for YOU, Roddy Piper!

Piper: Me?! Whaddya mean me?!

Bearer: Your days are numbered, Roddy Piper! It's only a matter of time before my Undertaker gets his hands on you! Ohhh, yes!

The segment ends as Bearer retreats to the back. Piper, Michaels, and Jannetty are left wondering what that was all about, as is the commentary team.

Roddy Piper vs The Brooklyn Brawler

Piper defeats Brawler in an enhancement match. After Piper is announced as the winner, his music fades out prematurely. He looks puzzled for several seconds until a bagpipe rendition of "Amazing Grace" begins to play over the sound system, as Paul Bearer rolls out a plaid-covered casket. Piper looks disturbed and angry, and Bearer is seen saying "Ohhh, yes" to himself repeatedly to end the show.

Okerlund: Joining me, at this time, is "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and Hot Rod, I've gotta ask you, what in the WORLD are you doing dressed as a Ghostbuster?!

Piper: You wanna know why I'm dressed like a Ghostbuster, Gene?! I'll tell ya why, 'cause I ain't afraid of no ghosts! Undertaker! You do not "send a message" to Roddy Piper! You have no idea who you're dealing with! You wanna try sending a message to me, pal?! I'll show ya how it's done!

The Undertaker vs Jim Powers

As the opening bell rings, Piper walks out with a steel chair and parks himself right where the aisle way meets ringside, so he can get the best seat in the house for the match. Undertaker quickly dispatches of Powers, and stares Piper down as the fall is counted.

Piper gets up, takes the chair in hand, and begins measuring Undertaker as if he's going to enter the ring and attack, but officials and a few babyface wrestlers come down and escort Piper to the back.

Wrestling Challenge

Funeral Parlor: Bearer conducts an interview with Mr. Perfect, promoting his Intercontinental Title defense against Bret Hart.

Once Perfect has sufficiently promoted the match, Piper emerges from behind Bearer and measures the edge of a steel chair against his neck. Once he realizes he has Bearer's attention, he says, "You get the picture now?! I'M the monster under YOUR bed!"

When Undertaker emerges from the stood-up coffin, Piper pushes Bearer toward him, backs away and says "Don't even think about it, big man! I'll see you at SummerSlam!", and points the chair to ward off Undertaker and Perfect as he retreats. The commentary team puts over the challenge issued.

Later in the show, it's announced that President Jack Tunney has ordered that the match be contested inside a steel cage, in order to keep the violence contained.

(This is also to protect Piper from having to take a pinfall loss.)

I figure, if there's any babyface that can get away with being a little heelish, it's Roddy Piper (or Jake Roberts).

SummerSlam 1991

Steel Cage Match - Roddy Piper vs The Undertaker

Coming up with a finish is what I struggled with the most in this scenario.

Piper gets a lot of the early match, more than most guys get on Undertaker, heat, comeback, then Undertaker all but chokes Piper out, ties him up in the ropes (with Bearer's help, if he can reach), and makes the escape for the win.

Ric Flair arriving in the WWF shortly after gives Piper an excuse not to pursue retribution. Piper may start to cut another promo on Undertaker, but Flair cuts him off, saying, "You can forget about your so-called 'unfinished business', pal, because the real World's Champion has arrived, and now you've got to deal with Ric Flair!

Mucking about and creating goofy matchups like this.

I knew that thing was way gone when it hit the bat, but dang. She got all of that and then some.

Maybe not the best team I've ever drafted, but it has character. I've done seasons with about half the teams in the league over the last 20 years. I try to draft players that I've never used in a season before, but that's getting harder to do so I've relaxed a little, especially with relievers and backups.

I'm not a habitual grabber, but don't dish out what you can't take.

If you had your pick of any intro, two middle events, and finale, what would you want to see?

For me: Big Fans, Skyline Stumble, Bubbling Brook, and Circle O' Slime.

Always had it turned off before, but I decided this time I'd purposely play nice with everyone and use the escape hatch as soon as I could.

It's my lowest scoring Warlord victory and barely clears my top Chieftain score lol.

Even on Warlord and with the AI aggression as low as possible, the Iroquois still attacked me three times. Plus China and the Zulu once apiece.

But money talks, so I bought military alliances with the rest of the continent to deal with Hiawatha and Shaka, and was able to beat back Mao on my own and take several cities, because they didn't have iron.

I guess I just really enjoy playing the peaceful side of the game, as much as it can be helped.

I love seeing all the different-colored chameleons on the boards. Been trying it out with a few different color schemes, but Bumblebee seems to work nicely.

The "Block Out" pattern is so cool.

It looks slick in any color scheme, but especially Infrared.
