College admissions are one thing. Actually going to college is another. And I’m so scared.
I just graduated high school this spring and I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to go to college and meet so many new people and build relationships. But over the months, my perspective has completely flipped.
I was in a relationship w my friend of three yrs which ended because of timing and college distance. This broke me and even tho I came out the other side a better person from it, it hurts. The reality is, going to college also means saying goodbye to your friends in your hometown temporarily until you see them again. They won’t be in the hallways every morning at 8:30 am, you won’t have the same people to laugh in the back of the room with.
I also recently came back from a family trip and realized the pain of not having that familiar comfort of your parents and siblings every day. Sure we have phones to call, but it’s not the same.
I’m so so sad about moving to college this week and I can’t believe it came so soon. Any upperclassmen advice? I’m just hurting a lot even tho ik college is supposed to be an exciting time.
There’s a quote I love even tho I can’t understand it rn. “It’s your perception not your circumstances that shape your experiences and your life.” I just don’t understand how to change my perception having to say goodbye to friends and family and close this chapter of my life.
I (M18) went through my first breakup with someone (F18). What does moving on rly look like?
I recently went through a breakup. It was my first relationship and I rly cared abt this girl bc we were friends for yrs before our relationship naturally escalated before we ended things for various reasons, timing and college being one of them. We ended things on good terms, though. She asked to be friends but I just told her I couldn’t right now because I still had feelings for her and needed time and distance to heal.
It’s been a few weeks since this happened and I feel I’ve relatively healed, but I don’t know what common post-breakup recurring thoughts or feelings are. Some days, I think about her. Other days, she crosses my mind maybe once or twice. But I’m wondering if this is normal or not. Do people think abt their exes? Like, even if they’re in future relationships.
I saw a quote that rly resonated with me. It was, “I’m healed to know that the door is closed, but human enough to look at it sometimes.” I think it has a lot of value. But I don’t know if it’s normal to look back on a chapter of your life with someone you once loved and miss parts of it still, even years down the road. I know I’m young and have (hopefully) so much life ahead of me. I want to experience it all. But I also want to learn along the way.
Going to China, is it worth splurging on LV?
Rain tea, ink mark, moon tale. Ofc I need to like them. But is it rly worth spending like $350 on a 3.4 oz bottle? And which fragrance of those three do u think is best iyo?
i am absolutely heartbroken
i've been with this girl for the past four months. we've been super good friends for the past three years but our relationship naturally escalated. we would hang out multiple times a week for hours, facetime every night, text every day for hours. we did relationship-like things too: kissing, cuddling, etc. we're going to college this fall, so yesterday, i texted her about how she's been feeling lately and whether there's still something between us. and she said she thinks the distance and life circumstances is making a relationship too difficult and that she didn't feel the romantic connection she thought she would.
im absolutely heartbroken. i care about this girl so much and i loved her. even tho we were never official, we did everything together for a third of the year. i thought about her every single day. she asked if we could still be friends. i just probably not yet. not because i don't want to. trust me, there's nothing more than i want than to keep her in my life. i can't imagine my life without her right now. but ik there's a difference between what my heart wants and what my brain knows is necessary.
idk if i made a mistake for pushing the friendship aside for now. bc i do think i wanna reconnect later on. i just don't know how to reach back out. i need time to heal and space to move on. and when i feel the time is right, i do wanna reach back out bc she's meant so much to me for years and i don't want our relationship to just disappear. it's changing shape, i just don't know how to cope with that rn.
how do you think i should go about trying to heal and move on from this? rn, it feels like the world is ending and caving on.

How do I (M18) tell her (F18) how I really feel about our relationship?
In the past two weeks, she's been so distant. We used to FaceTime every night, text for hours every day, hang out every week. But we haven't in almost a month. She and I were on separate family trips for two of the weeks so we couldn't, but we both got back last week but haven't made plans to see each other. I called her a few days ago and she never picked up nor acknowledged the call. And then a few days ago I texted her to check in because I felt we were pretty distant and she just said she's been busy with her job and all that. So I don't know what to really think.
Also, on snap, we used to snap each other regularly. But recently, she's been leaving me on delivered for days and then snapping me back and then disappearing again. And on Instagram and TikTok I've been left on delivered for almost three weeks.
Maybe she's busy and doesn't have time. But like, it takes 5 seconds to just say that. To acknowledge a FaceTime call. To reply to a video. To send a snap. I don't really know how to tell her what I'm feeling right now. I still care about her so much but I just don't know where her head is at.
How do I tell her and explain how I'm feeling? I don't want to come off on the wrong note or end on bad terms. I just want her to understand and I want to understand how she's been feeling recently.
My friend (F18) and I (M18) kissed and now idk what to do...
I've always liked her but I just never had the courage to tell her, mainly because I was scared how she would react and that it would impact our friendship. Last week, we just talked because I wanted to be honest about how I feel. She said she felt the same, and we kissed.
The thing is, I don't know what to do anymore. Both of us have said that since we're going to college it's unwise to start a relationship, but I can see it in her eyes (and I think she can see it in mine) that that's a painful reality.
Do LDRs ever workout or at least end on at mutual and good terms? Our concern is that we're going to end on bad terms. I'm going to see her for another month before I go to college so I want to talk to her about the potential for a relationship because that's what my heart wants, but I also will respect her decision regardless of where she stands.
Do any of you have any advice as to what you think I should do here? I'm going to be honest with her but honestly I am scared as to what she'll say. We just escalated our relationship recently so I probably wouldn't talk with her like tomorrow or next week, but I'll see how our relationship plays out now that we're in different contexts other than friends.

I (18M) care about her (18F) SO much but the timing is just...
Last month was my senior prom. I wasn't going with anyone, but I changed my mind and asked my friend who's a junior to go with me. She said yes, and we went as friends.
In the following weeks, we've hung out a lot. More with each other than anyone else for hours on end too. We do things friends do: eat together, sing together, joke together. But also, more "intimate" things: watch movies together, lay on the beach together, be playfully physical with each other, text each other more than anyone else in each others' lives, and facetime each other almost every day. And I can't lie - I'm falling for her, and I think she might feel the same. Her friend told me she is because she talks with her a lot about our relationship.
I want to talk to her next week about this because I just want to be transparent. And I'm wondering how feasible long distance relationships are. The timing is just so unideal and obviously we both have so much to learn since neither of us have ever been in a relationship before. But I care about her so much, and I'm realizing that now. I wake up thinking about her. I stare at my phone waiting to text her. I sing and think about her. She's just such a big part of my life now, and I don't know what to do.
The thing is, my parents think it's a bad idea since I'm about to go off to college and they worry that I'm going to be constrained in who I can meet and such. It obviously is a tradeoff and I can tell if I make a decision they might not be happy with it could strain our relationship. I don't know what to do. I've had a talk with them about how I feel but if our relationship does escalate to putting names on things, then I think that's room for another conversation. I also don't know if I'm ready for a long-distance relationship. But we just have so much in common and I've never met anyone I'm so compatible with in my life.
I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice just hearing about this? I don't want to throw away something this meaningful, and if we ever were in a relationship, I highly doubt that it would end badly and our friendship would be impacted.

how do I (M18) tell my friend (F18) that I like her?
So we've been friends for a little over a year now and we hang out so much that people think we're in a relationship even though we aren't. I knew we were defined as friends because we both knew that a few months ago, but recently, I feel like our dynamic has shifted. We text a lot more, facetime for hours on end, hang out several times a week for hours, share food and meals together, sing together, and are just so emotionally and physically close with each other now more than ever. We are also extremely vulnerable and honest and that only feeds into our relationship.
The thing is, I don't know how to tell her how I feel because I don't want to lose our friendship. She's literally my best friend and I don't know how to tell her I want to be more than just friends because I'm scared of losing what we have right now. Her friend told me they were talking and she also said that my friend is also unsure about what to do regarding our relationship right now since she doesn't want to lose our friendship either.
The thing is, we are both going off to college next year. I know people always say "oh, long distance never works," or "it takes so much energy." I completely get that. I've watched my friends lose relationships over time because of this, but I've also seen ones flourish as a result of both parties consistently picking each other no matter the moment or situation. I know with confidence that both of us are the latter.
The thing is, I'm worried she might not feel the same way and then our friendship dynamic is damaged because of it. Obviously, there's no guarantee it will be, but knowing us, it probably will have a knick in it, and I don't want to lose her. Any advice? My friends recommended I just rip the bandaid off and talk to her about it because everyone (my friends and her friends included) have noticed our dynamic shift a lot in the past few weeks.
