So that we're all on the same page, Waftability is a signature Rolls-Royce term that describes the effortless, smooth and near-silent sensation of gliding along the road as if floating on a magic carpet.

What other car Makes (and specific models if it helps) can you get into if you're looking for waftability without the Rolls Royce part?

Weird question. Forgive me.

Assume a car has just not been run. For maybe 4 years. It's not broken. It just literally has sat, under a cover, tyres deflated, no servicing, no liquids replaced. Battery has died now. So it can't start. But it used to start.

What is a list of items one has to look at/replace/fix (safely) get the car back on the road?

I'm trying to understand gap cover better after recently discovering that my understanding of it was way too simplistic.

I always thought it basically worked like this:

Hospital procedure costs R100k.

Medical aid pays R80k.

Gap cover potentially helps with the R20k.

But apparently why the medical aid only paid R80k matters a lot.

For example, say your medical aid will pay up to R30k for a certain type of equipment during an authorised operation. The hospital uses R40k worth. Medical aid disburses/cascades the first R30k amongst the first few equipment line items and then pays R0 on the remaining R10k worth of equipment items.

Some gap policies, as I now understand them, may not cover that R10k at all because the medical aid paid nothing towards those particular line items even though they covered R30k out of R40k for that group of items.

Looking at it differently, if the medical aid had disbursed the amounts such that each line item got a piece of the R30k (instead of cascading it), then the gap cover would then have to cover the remaining line items up to the percentage above medical aid risk that they pay.

So to my questions now....

1. Is this generally how gap cover works in SA?

2. Are there gap policies that would cover the first example too?

3. What other common gaps (lol) are there that people only discover when they actually claim?

4. What wording or benefits should I specifically look for when comparing providers?

I'm not really interested in which company advertises 300% vs 500% etc. I'm trying to understand what risks are actually covered and which ones I'm still carrying myself.

EDIT - To further explain the scenario:

1. There are, say, 8 items each costing R5k. Total R40k.
2. Each of those items are lumped under a single equipment benefit of R30k.
3. So therefore 2 items receive R0 from the R30K.
4. Insurance did pay the R30k. But the amount was cascaded to only 6 items.
5. I would expect gap cover would consider those two items a gap because medical paid R30k but...
6. ... because those two items got R0, gap cover doesn't consider them a gap. And that you're fully liable for them.

They are an absolute mess to drive on track. Both Nissan and Nismo. I get nauseous if I have to drive them.

They understeer then become unstable when you pick up speed? The brakes are whack and they feel heavy.

I would enjoy a feature where I could store different tunes on my vehicles. This would allow someone to switch over to a different tune very quickly, and try different variations without having to memorize or write anything down.

I am weighing up selling a vehicle and have googled and seen the dealers, WBCs and Weelees of this world.

I'm not in a particular rush so I was wondering what the actual process of selling and transferring privately looks like.

I'm not talking about listing on marketplaces but moreso what I could typically expect if I got a buyer and we started going through admin of the thing. Those steps typically.

I thank you in anticipation of the education and illumination.

Being immersed in a movie or series that's been artfully sculpted is such a joy. Their creators often take very deliberate aims to achieve immersion through choices in sound design, frameless storytelling and visual treatments.

​ For most of us, it's also a rare occasion to momentarily escape from the usual pressures and realities of life and to fully engage in the unfolding narrative of a story instead.

​ Those of you who get it and allow people this tiny reprieve are not appreciated enough, even if said story is not to your personal liking, you'll have the decency to allow them to get away from their own real-world worries.

​ But then sometimes you find the others. Oh the others. For reasons unexplained, these others feel they need to strongly pepper a viewing with unending commentary, reaction and incessant predictions that no one asked for. It's like they live life like it's an audition for a Reacts YouTube channel.

​ If you're one of these "others". I must tell you on behalf of the people in your life that we hate you a little bit. You destroy immersion, disengage people from the material and just generally ruin the viewing experience for the people around you.

​ Stop it. Get some help. Or maybe go start a channel and earn your audience. Either way, stop imposing your gib on people who didn't ask for it.
