Mercedes Electric Flagship Sedan - My Take

Mercedes Electric Flagship Sedan - My Take

The Flagship Sedan reimagines Mercedes-Benz prestige for the electric era.

Rather than chasing aggression or nostalgia from a single era, it expresses confidence through proportion, restraint and respect for Mercedes proportions, quiet surfaces and architectural simplicity.

Finally got a worthwhile Porsche

And I love it! It drives so well. I hope this signals the end of my Porsche drought.

Private sale process

Hey everyone

I am weighing up selling a vehicle and have googled and seen the dealers, WBCs and Weelees of this world.

I'm not in a particular rush so I was wondering what the actual process of selling and transferring privately looks like.

I'm not talking about listing on marketplaces but moreso what I could typically expect if I got a buyer and we started going through admin of the thing. Those steps typically.

I thank you in anticipation of the education and illumination.

Torture is watching a show with someone who needs to talk-along to it

Being immersed in a movie or series that's been artfully sculpted is such a joy. Their creators often take very deliberate aims to achieve immersion through choices in sound design, frameless storytelling and visual treatments.

For most of us, it's also a rare occasion to momentarily escape from the usual pressures and realities of life and to fully engage in the unfolding narrative of a story instead.

Those of you who get it and allow people this tiny reprieve are not appreciated enough, even if said story is not to your personal liking, you'll have the decency to allow them to get away from their own real-world worries.

But then sometimes you find the others. Oh the others. For reasons unexplained, these others feel they need to strongly pepper a viewing with unending commentary, reaction and incessant predictions that no one asked for. It's like they live life like it's an audition for a Reacts YouTube channel.

If you're one of these "others". I must tell you on behalf of the people in your life that we hate you a little bit. You destroy immersion, disengage people from the material and just generally ruin the viewing experience for the people around you.

Stop it. Get some help. Or maybe go start a channel and earn your audience. Either way, stop imposing your gib on people who didn't ask for it.

You had to be there

June 2026. McLarens falling out of the sky like snow in Alaska. McLaren challenges and McLaren rewards.

This was a momentous time to be on AR.

Is the McLaren F1 the best car to learn in?

I don't think there's another car that rewards throttle control as much as this car does. It's on another level.

What's an interesting fact about your country's national anthem?

South Africa's national anthem is actually two separate songs made into one.

The first part comes from a South African church hymn that South Africa wasn't even the first country to use as a national anthem.

The second part comes from the national anthem before 1994.

The idea was to bridge the old with the new for the sake of unity after the end of Apartheid.

A recent realisation from decades of depression

I always assumed my depression made me fragile and would get to me first. But then life kept taking people around me instead.

That's it.

I've acted with impunity and carelessness at times under the assumption that I'll probably crack under the load sooner or later. Only to still be here and attending funerals for people who I thought would attend mine.

Took me longer than it should have

This was an emotional one.

I got silver after posting a gold time because I had 2 seconds worth of penalties.

Then I missed gold by 0:00:012 on another lap before finally clocking a good time.

Which manufacturer to replace McLaren with?

McLaren is leaving. Very unfortunate but the Assoluto folk have ended things off quite legendarily by allowing us all to experience a slice of McLaren ownership in some way.

If you could choose, which manufacturer would you replace McLaren with? No limit. No rules. This is just for fun so let's keep it light.

What happened when I stopped trying

Struggled a bit and then this happened on a lap where I wasn't thinking about it. A little bit proud actually.

Oddly got this time where I allowed the car to slip in some corners compared to previous attempts where I tried to keep the car compliant.

Alfa Romeo 148 (2029)

Found this on an article about Alfa Romeo's new hatchback. I don't believe it's official and didn't generate it myself but it's probably safe to assume it's AI art.

Hope it's not tuna this time

Got the confidence to post another steak after a very delicious but embarrassing last post here.

Reverse seared to a medium rare and finished in a cast iron.

Toasted and crushed black pepper and coriander seeds and generously dusted it over the steak with a coriander/cilantro "chimmichurri" with lemon.

Served with a side of buttered air-fried baby potatoes and sauteed mushrooms.

Why shake left-and-right on straights?

I sometimes race other's track recordings. I noticed some guys shake the car left and right on straights and this seems to make their cars faster? Am I imagining this? Or is there another explanation?

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking.
