Does this fire safety mascot from the 90s ring a bell for anyone? This isn't EXACTLY what he looked like, as I can't find evidence of him existing. I described him to AI and this is what it gave me (fairly close). Trying to get any info on him at all.

I really did think his name was Humey, but I could be 100% wrong. I just know he was a fire safety mascot in the early to mid 90s. He was in the form of an anthropomorphic smoke cloud that wore a fireman helmet. I'm guessing he must have been with an agency or company local to Augusta, as I assume there would be *something* about him if he was national or even regional. I know he existed, because once as a young teen — a friend's mother had me put on the mascot suit for him. She worked with whatever company used him, but I've lost contact with them at this point. So, no help there. Help!

Looking for career ideas in Augusta for someone burned out on corporate content work

I’ve spent years working in fairly high-paying content creation/writing roles, mostly focused on engagement, headlines, marketing-style writing, etc. It’s been good experience and has paid well, but I’m honestly at a point where I’d rather move toward something I actually enjoy and care about, even if it means making a bit less.

I’m really interested in things like history, archives, museums, antiques, horror/creative stuff, collectibles, media preservation, law, unusual small businesses, art/event work, emergency management, and generally anything less “corporate.” I also have strong writing, research, social media, and creative skills and an MPA.

I feel like Augusta probably has jobs/businesses/opportunities I’m not even thinking of, so I figured I’d ask here. Does anyone know of places, industries, or local businesses around Augusta/North Augusta that might fit someone with that kind of background/interests?

Not necessarily asking for job openings specifically — even just ideas for companies, organizations, or paths I should look into would help a lot.

I've heard a lot of people complain about folks who just gladly let crowd surfers fall, but I don't think I've seen one around me while in the crowd. Not that I didn't believe they existed, just never saw one. But this one was bragging on Facebook about it.

Did anyone get video of the folks dropping popcorn from the 3rd floor of the grandstands down to folks on the ground catching it in their mouths during the Day 4 evacuation?

There were some awesome catches, and it was crazy fun to watch. Kept us preoccupied while waiting to get back inside.

There's a way to maintain communication with your folks even w/ no service at the festival.

This isn't an advertisement, but rather an attempt to help us maintain communication with our people even when there's no service at the festival. I downloaded this app for emergency management stuff, but it works no matter what when cell service is down. The app "bitchat" is on my Android, and my wife downloaded it on her iPhone. It creates a "mesh" network that uses your phone's Bluetooth to communicate even when cell service is down from being overloaded.

I turned off our Wi-Fi and put our phones on airplane mode, and we were still able to send messages back and forth. Point being, if we get enough people with this app at the festival, shoddy cell service won't mean anything. You'll be able to communicate with anyone from clear across the festival (as long as there's enough people between you and them for the message to keep passing along).

The messages are all encrypted, so only the person you're sending them to will see them. You and all your friends should download before the festival, then open the app to find each other. Send messages to identify who is who, and hit the "favorite" button on your folks. This will ensure you can find them at the festival (because everyone's screen name will pop up when you open the app there).

Even if we just get a few hundred people doing this, all of us could still stay in touch (via messaging) by essentially helping each other out!

For over a year, I've stopped looking into taking Ayahuasca because I worried I might discuss certain things I don't want others to know during my experience. But it dawned on me today: why would there be any talking? Have I been concerned for no reason? I've been looking at it like a potential "truth serum," but I'm feeling like my concerns may have all been ridiculous.
