can someone help explain what is happening in my house?

I live in Yorkshire in the UK in an old house dating back to the 1800s. we moved in around 9 years ago and there is me, my mum, dad and sister. Over the years i and my family have noticed things happening that shouldn’t really be happening. the first thing i ever noticed was i was once sat in the living room when i was home alone (around 2019ish) and i heard one of the wardrobe doors upstairs slam open. assuming that someone was in the house i took the dog and hid in the downstairs bathroom as my parents were coming home in 10 mintues. no one was in the house and when i went upstairs the wardrobe door was shut again but the noise of it opening was clear as day. A few years later my brother was staying over and slept in our dining room downstairs on a pull out bed. he said at around 3am he heard footsteps slowly walk down the stairs and stop halfway down (our stairs going up are in the dining room) and he didn’t hear any more movement for another 30-45 mintues until he got up to go to the bathroom and heard the footsteps sprint away. no one in our house is a sleepwalker and no one else heard anything. Our bedroom doors are old and if one had been opened or closed it would have been heard as there’s no way to open or close them without making noise. A few months ago when everyone was asleep (my sister moved out at this point so it’s just me, dad, mum) We were awoken at around 4am to the sound of the radio blaring downstairs. To turn on our radio you have to press multiple buttons and tune it so i doubt it could have been an accident, especially since it happened 3 more times after that.

There hasn’t been many instances considering we’ve been here 9 years but none of these have any rational explanation i can think of. The wardrobe door couldn’t have been the wind as no doors or windows were open so there was no moving air in the house. the dog sleeps in my room and like i say no doors opened or closed when my brother heard those footsteps, and the chances of the radio accidentally malfunctioning how it did is slim to none. can anyone help?

i’ve found that just not caring about stuff is so much easier!

Since i was about 16 and started studying politics for my A-levels i’ve been obsessed with politics since (im now 21). i was Hard left leaning all the way in a family of hard right winged people so political topics or conversations often got heated. i went on to study it at university but had to drop out due to some unrelated mental health issues.

up until about a week ago i was heavily involved in politics; activism, campaigning, awareness, joining debate clubs and stuff like that. however last week i was scrolling X and found so many people who i share political views with people hypocritical and i just thought well who i am doing all this for? for my one voice there’s going to be 100 opposing ones and i don’t think im going to make that much of a difference.

So i decided that i will no longer be following or be actively involved in politics and instead will only concern myself when an election is up and coming. When i tell you i’ve not been this relaxed in a while i mean. when i was balancing my work with my political hobbies i was so tired and hated the constant back and forth between the left and right. now i genuinely feel free for the first time in a long while to just move on and just focus on something that isn’t constantly hostile. Not asking for people to debate the morality of being political or who to vote for but just to say that sometimes just stepping back from something that a big part of your life can change your life for the better.

I feel like i’ve hit a dead end in dating. can anyone offer some advice?

I (20M) have really struggled with relationships. i know im still young and have plenty of time but i feel like in the time since i started taking an interest in dating (when i was about 13) things have only really gotten worse and worse going down the line. in high school my whole friend group were in relationships so it meant that i was often left out of events or chosen last as everyone went to things in pairs. in sixth form i struggled with my weight alot which has still carried on to this day. When i left sixth form i went to University for a year and hooked up with several guys. the first guy i hooked up with (24M / i was 18 at the time.) i fell for him hard but with him it was purley just a hookup and he didn’t want a relationship at all. The other guys i hooked up with weren’t really my type and by this point i was very depressed and used sex more as a coping method. Since i left University a year ago this month ive only ever spoken to this one guy who is also 20M but he doesn’t seem intrested in me. me have frank conversations about sex and have flirtatious conversations but that’s the extent of it he does not like me like that im pretty sure. i feel like i’ve really a stomp in life which is affecting everything around me in a cycle (relationships affecting work, work affecting relationships) and im really burnt out.I understand being in a relationship doesn’t solve problems but i feel like closeness with someone is something i crave a lot in my life and im not close with anyone anymore really. has anyone any advice? i’m not looking for judgement maybe just someone who can help me find something to do with my life. i’m really stuck and will take on any input.

TL:DR
My dating life is not going well and i feel like im missing out on so many experiences in life and don’t know how to get out of a vicious cycle.

why did i get 4 calls all at once on UK numbers?

is this like a known scam? i rang them all back, one said i dialed an incorrect number, another forwarded to voicemail, another said the call couldn’t be connected and the last one picked up and said she’d never called me then hung up.

something always goes wrong

Had a really good day today felt like things were going well i just finished work for 12 days before going on holiday on friday. i’ve been talking to this guy since september and we’ve been going steady but not rushed into anything. i went to check my snapchat to see if he had text and ive been blocked on everything. we weren’t talking about anything that would give him reason to do it we were just talking about our dogs and suddenly he’s gone on everything. i just don’t see the point in even trying with people everytime i get my hopes up or think things are going okay i get a punch to the gut.

Why do i suddenly really want to get married?

I’m a 20 year old gay man who’s only ever had hookups with guys and never been in a proper relationship. recently i’ve had this bad want for kids and Marriage. I keep thinking about my wedding day in my head and everytime there’s a wedding at the hotel i work at it makes me sad as it reminds me i’m still single and aren’t even close to it. I’ve been looking for a relationship for as long as i can remember but i’ve just not had any look any guys who’s liked me i haven’t liked back and feel like i’m at a loose end. will this urge for marriage go away? as i know im still young and have a long while before it.

why do we live the way we do?

I understand social norms and how they’re people above and below by why do we just accept that’s how life is? working endless hours for terrible pay just to not be able to afford rent. i know this isn’t the case for a lot of people but for a lot it is. why don’t we ever do something about it? i just feel like i’ve hit a dead-end in my career and don’t understand why it’s socially accepted that some people just live in poverty while some people take private jets for 5 mintue trips. can someone help me understand here?

i only have these two screenshots as it came up as a short clip on tiktok. it was bassicly about a woman who walks into her bedroom with a guy (guy in red) but she’s on the bed and TV her boyfriend is proposing to her. she gets the guy in red to hide and then acts surprised for the boyfriend. However the boyfriend recorded it and so she had to try recreate it without drawing suspicion. In the end she gets exposed for cheating infront of everyone.
