Makkale, inga vanga paa

I couldn't get over this in my head, so typing it out here.

Today I was traveling in arakkonam fast and I got to listen to two boys speaking among themselves. One of them were said to be working at baby hospital as lab assistant some job and the other boy's wasn't known and both of them were from tiruvallur dist I guess. (I'm not degrading any specific district's people, it's just that few incidents like this puts down the whole reputation)

So one of the boys were loud and speaking with the other one saying, they beat someone and all. Eventually he started saying something constantly, "Aambala na bhayam irukkanum" probably he's saying this in the context of beating the couples who spend time privately in stations where there won't be much crowd. He was constantly mentioning, "adutha vaati bhayam irukkanum" maybe it could be a good thing too. But indulging in other person's private life is no one's concern, I believe. Also, this makes me scared that still there are even young kids who were raised with castist ideologies, even near chennai.

Then the conversation eventually moved into LGBTQ, the boy who was silent was saying about gay and things, and the boy who used to be loud saying, "Ussu nu sollu thala" adha laam paathale angaiye adikkanum, avanungalukku bhayam irukkanum.

All this was happening in a crowded train, and the boys were sitting in their seats as if sitting in a sofa, all cozy. Though they were dressed properly, their words and attitude felt pretty dangerous. But what felt even more dangerous was, no one were bothered about what they were speaking and sensitive it is.

Though there was one uncle who was silently saying to the next person, how bad these boys were speaking and how much of an audacity they must be having to speak about this in public.

Things like these will eventually grow in crime scenes and kids like them were encouraged to do these.

If you were there, what would you've done. I'm extremely ranting over myself saying I couldn't do anything.

I started yap content but feeling stuck

Recently I wanted to start content creation as a way of self expression and I started it. Everything went well and found out content about corporate life was doing good for me and I'm good at speaking about it too. But on certain days I feel stuck about what to post.

Any suggestions on how to plan your yap content and tips for successful yaps.

Need help understanding founder problems/pain points

Hello founders, I'm trying to get myself into freelancing in order to start my business slowly. Since I work a 9-5 and can't give it up right now as I hold a couple of responsibilities.

I'm a designer, writer, video editor, personal branding strategist and a website developer. I've been working on these verticals for almost 4 years in 9-5 and worked with a couple of freelance clients as well.

Now with AI doing almost everything. I genuinely wanted to understand what are a couple of problems you're facing that's bothering you a ton. This would help me understand how I should upskill myself to help you better.

Giving an elaborate answer of what would you potentially expect from a freelancer and everything would help me. Also if you've worked with freelancers before, how's your experience and what would love to have a change in. TIA

Looking for advice from brand managers working in SaaS

I am a designer with a decent years of experience. I have 2 questions now.

  1. I am quite interested in how branding working in SaaS space. So your knowledge and experience would be helpful
  2. Is moving to branding a good move for a designer? Currently I feel burnout in design, I don't know why. I am a person who cares more about generating money and i think i am good at influencing people's perceptions. So I feel like branding would be a good way for me. But I am confused

This overthinking hurts!

So a few years back during my university days, I used to be someone who motivates and inspires people to be their best. But looking at myself today, I'm not where I really wanted to be, even worse I'm not even at the level I used to be during my university days. This makes me constantly think about the people who were inspired to be like me. When I think about creating content or present myself in public spaces, I'm ashamed of the kind of person I've become.

So if you're crossed this path somehow and something worked for you, please let me know how you did it. I would love to listen to everything now.

Career confusion!

I work as a graphic designer at a SaaS company in Chennai. Previously I worked at an agency for 3 years. But then I made a switch to SaaS and went from 3.6lpa to 5lpa, which I don't feel comfortable right now. I'm not sure if it's industry standards or something. Recently when I spoke to my old friend. We both started our career in design in similar timelines. Today he's making around 16lpa with the same experience, but one difference between both of us is he made around 4 switches and currently working in a consulting setup as senior visual designer. I'm thinking about my decisions right now. I don't want to shift to a new company with the same designation. Confused about everything now.

I don't get the point of working from office!

It feels so stupid to carry the same laptop we work at office, but we travel all the way to work there. I don't really get the point of it anymore.

When govt announced every other employee wants WFH, so no one is enjoying it.

But apart from everything, what's the real point of it. I feel we are wasting so much productivity in commute.
