The Bishop of Urgell and co-Prince of Andorra Juan Benlloch i Vivó with members of the Andorra parliament (extra trivia in the description)
As co-Prince of Andorra he composed the text for Andorra's national anthem "El gran Carlemany" (The Great Charlemagne) which was adopted on the 8th of September 1921, which is also the national day of Andorra, the music was composed by a man named Enric Marfany Bons, The lyrics make reference to several key aspects of Andorran culture, history, its patron saint Our Lady of Meritxell, and their heritage of the Carolingian Empire.
He was co-Prince from 1907-1919 where he later became Archbishop of Burgos and as such he lost the title of co-Prince to his successor Justí Guitart i Vilardebó. His reign saw Andorra enter WW1 on the side of the allies, Andorra declared war on Germany but did not directly participate but it did send THREE volunteers (Valentí Naudi, Josep Estany, and René Huguet) to fight alongside the French army, here's the thing, the allies forgot Andorra and wasn't included in the Treaty of Versailles, as such Andorra remained in a state of war with Germany for the next 44 years until a peace treaty was signed in 1958.
His French co-princes were Armand Fallières and his WW1 compatriot Raymond Poincaré.
The second image is a bronze statue of him located in Andorra's capital Andorra la Vella, in front of the historic Church of Sant Esteve.
