Can we get a new rule limiting the "can I carry a plush/ is it OK to have a plush at x age?"

These questions come up every day and it's always the same premise of "I'm 13, can I have a plush still?" Yes yes you can. "I'm 19 and I sleep with my baby plush, is that ok?" Yes why wouldn't it be. "I'm an adult and I want to carry my plush. Can I?" You're an adult, you can do what you want. "Is it OK for me as a 29 year old to have something I like?" Come on yall.

Like I know that some people just want reassurance, but I feel like the questions and responses are always the same thing. There's only so many different ways we can state "yes." That having a rule against these types of questions-> into "Yes plushes are for anyone and everyone! Feel free to bring your friend out in public If it is something that will bring you joy." Would just work.

Edit since it seems as if some people are confused as to what I mean. I'm not stating that we should just ban all posts regarding these questions and just leave it as that. What I mean is to have a rule removing those posts and or directing them to an overall post that reassures and answers all of their questions regarding it. Having a main post of "here's how to be comfortable carrying a plush in public." With little notes of getting used to it, keeping the plush safe, keeping it clean, ideas of decorating it or adding collars for safety, etc.

How to make egg hole for tattletail?

I've been a fan of tattletail ever since the game released and recently I've remembered these dumb furby things existed so I wanted to try to make one given there's only 1 official plush and it was a limited release 🥲. With that though the official plush has an egg hole which I thought was hilarious so I wanted to incorporate it into my own plush. For those unaware, the creatures above, tattletails, are furby like robot toys that will "eat" the food and then lay it out in an egg.

Above is the picture from the game, then a fan/sellers version of them, and then the last two are from the official plush.

Polka dot lamb made with glue

Pattern by 10x2 Studio. I wanted to make a white lamb but my white was too thick so I ended up using the polka dots. I thought it would look nice with the purple.

Looking for this fabric! Can anyone help?

This isn't my plush but I have one exactly like it. I just pulled this one because my plush is worn down way more than that one is. I know that it's a Minecraft Jazwares Enderman plush, whether or not it's official is up for debate. But anyways, I'm looking to make/remake My plush and I need the fabric to be the exact same texture. I've tried asking in like 3 other subs and I've came back empty handed every time. Please can someone help?

Message to younger therians - Stranger Danger!

Hi. I'm not that old but this has happened to me one too many times so I feel like this needs to be reminded. Stranger danger!! If you see someone in public wearing a mask, tail, symbol, whatever, Just admire them from afar! You do not know this person or how they will react to people coming up to them. I know it is exciting to see someone similar in the wild but PLEASE don't come up to them without any previous notion that they're looking to interact. And If you do interact then make sure that you have an adult or a supervisor nearby.

Yes even If they look "safe" or "welcoming" or "friendly". I'm not saying that the person is dangerous to you but they may not be looking to be interacted with.

I have have and wear bright colors. I usually have a plush with me as well. I know I look like a safe person and I will help if someone needs help. However, I also really do not like crowds, can not deal with lights, sounds, noises, and especially unplanned events. I have been in public with my partner and have been circled by excited young therians and furries 3 times. And have had an unsupervised person come directly to my face, touch my tail or plush, or try to give me their socials multiple times.

You could be putting yourself in danger being with a stranger, you do not know If that person will hurt you. You also will draw attention to that stranger and make them look bad, and you do not know how they will react.

You do not know how they will react!

Every time this happens it makes me never want to wear any of my outfits ever again because I know I will get an unexpected encounter. I try my hardest to stay away because it makes me feel queasy and causes me to shut down. So please please please! Consider stranger danger.

Is it OK to mix different peoples patterns? NOT SELLING!

So I've bought some patterns and I tried looking through the artists TOS regarding Frankenstein-ing patterns but I couldn't find anything for either of them. Both of their TOS just say not to redistribute/resell the pattern and either don't sell the plush or just credit the maker.

I am NOT selling these plushes! I just make plushes for myself and sometimes a friend. I also have no interest to ever sell these plushes either, this is just for me as as hobby.

However, if I were to get a pattern from someone and use part of it for limbs, but take another pattern and use that for a head, and then a third one for a tail, etc. Is that alright? I'm only asking because I don't know how I would give credit once I show the final product off or if I would get lynched by other plush makers. Some who are very strict on plush making it seems 😓.

[Hiring] 40$ maximum. Looking to hire an artist that specializes in monstrous hands.

I'm looking for an artist to draw some hands. Front, back, in poses, whatever they're able to do. I have a character who's hands are something I can never draw right and I just want to be able to see them. The hands are humanoid, 5 fingered, normal palm size, but the fingers are unnaturally long and curved claws start about ¾ up the fingers. The hands are VERY thin and spindly. Think of Other Mother but with skin.

Whenever I try to get someone to make his hands it usually ends up human sized, short, etc.

I would like at least one drawing to be colored and shaded but the rest can be black and white If price needed. I would also like WIPs just for 1 sketch to make sure that the hands are how I pictured them.

Thanks!

Bunny I made for my partner using hot glue.

I took a break from working on my own plush to make a surprise gift for My partner. He commented on the bunny plush from 10x2 Studio, so I got it for him and made the plush in between his working hours. I wanted a messier sock-monkey type appearance for it and had to quickly finish it today.

Evil hot glue rabbit

The other day I made a meme post talking about how I get shit for making my plushes with hot glue. Today I completed a bunny for my partner. He looks a little scrunkly on purpose because I wanted him to have the same feeling as a sock monkey. (And I had to be done with him tonight in time for my partner to get off work.)

Didn't realize there was 1 way to make a plush.

"You should call them something else If you don't want people fighting with you!"

It's a plush. It's fabric. It's squishy. It's stuffed. God forbid I didn't sew it. I don't know why everyone is thinking it will explode on contact. Doesn't matter how I explain or state that it's just for me. I don't understand why using hot glue is controversial.

Edit: I DON'T SELL THESE! These are plushies for myself!! Even though no one here has been rude, I do want to mention that I don't sell them. No one is buying them. They're not for sale. Nor do I ever plan to sell them.

Why are people so weird about plushie making alternatives?

This is a little bit of a vent but also a genuine question!Sorry the title is weird I really have no idea how else to word it without making it super long. What I mean is that if you say you make plushes, people are genuinely happy and curious. Sewing, hand sewing, embroidery, all very good! You say you crochet plushes and there's genuinely more amazement of talent, but less interest of the plush. And if you do it my way then I guess it's just awful and discredits me or something.

I started making plushes when I was 13. I am typically slow and have dexterity problems when doing things with my hands. So things like sewing, cutting, drawing, take me a lot more time, energy, and focus to do. I also didn't know how to sew and no one around to teach me, so instead I just experimented with what I had, and in turn I made plushies with hot glue

And look the beginning ones weren't great, but over time I learned more and got better working with it. Now I'll show a plush to someone and they'll compliment on the stitching, and when I tell them that I didn't sew it but used hot glue, they will drop the plush and just say "well I'll teach you how to sew then."

Like, ok. Ow? First off don't drop my plush, they don't deserve that. Secondly, you were happy about it before so why are you treating it like I said I used AI? Third, I've told people many many times that I don't want to know how to sew for plushes (for fixing things that's fine.) I don't want to sew, I want to use hot glue. I like using it, I think I'm good at it and it's my own method. So why is everyone adamant that I need to learn how to sew immediately?

This has happened 8 different times btw. And also before someone asks, no I don't sell plushes. I just make my own for my own personal collection, and MAYBE might make one for a friend If I know they want one.

Can you post your bear clothes in the comments? (Pattern help)

Hi. I'm trying to make some clothes for my plush so I wanted to look at the seams and how they look folded/unwrapped, etc. I was wondering if yall would be ok with posting your bear clothes so I could see how to make a pattern.

NOTE: I'm not copying or trying to profit off of the clothes, I'm just trying to get the general base down for my own plushes.

I'm looking for a long sleeve shirt (I want to make a sweater), pants, and shoes. Instead of velcro I'm going to use magents to close it.

I'm looking more of the inside/ when it's spread out. But front/side, works too!

Help for Plush Clothes

Does anyone know of a good source, tip, website, person, or just general advice for tackling making clothes for plushes? I was wanting to do something similar to build a bear where there is that velcro piece (I'm instead going to add a magnet but the pattern should be the same.)

I'm just looking to make a turtleneck sweater, pants, and shoes. But really just any long or short sleeve would work, as well with pants and the shoes are looking to be more full/ sneaker like.

When it comes to complexity, just send any and all and I'm sure I can find use with it. Thank you!

Cheap Pillow for Hurting Ears- Side sleeper

I'm so desperate here. I don't know what's wrong with my ears but every time I lay down it's just a slow build of pressure and pain. I'm sure I'm also feeling pressure pain bumps of CHN starting on both sides, but they're on the top curve of the cartilage.

For years my pillow has been flat and firm. I've been sleeping on a mixture of it and a blue shell plush. I haven't had an issue with the "firmness" of it until my ears started hurting.

I've tried great value extra firm and firm. I've tried curved neck support memory foam. I've tried some Amazon pillow with an ear hole in it. I've tried stacking pillows. Every time I lay down it's either pressure on my ear or the pressure just goes all across the side of my face and it hurts.

I'm a college student, I don't have a lot of money but I'll take any suggestions and try to find an affordable alternative.

How Do I Make a pattern?

I've somewhat made plushes before, but I've never did it the "correct " way of making a pattern, measuring, etc. I'm looking to put more effort Into him though. I would like his arms and legs to be thin at the connections but thicker at the bottom, his torso to be a bit slimmer. Head either Squarish or circler. And I was going to add wings similar to image 3. I was also hoping on making him clothes that I would put on like build a bear clothes. I know that this is a lot but any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
