I thought the sub might appreciate a project that I’ve been working on. I love to cosplay, and some of my favorite costumes are ultra-niche, crossover or gag costumes. I go to DragonCon every year and host a photoshoot for fans of the Buc-ee’s gas station. Strange, I know, but I came up with the idea for a Buc-ee’s branded X-Wing helmet (shout out to the Black Series Trapper Wolf bucket) and pilot outfit. After I’ve smoothed out some of the unintentional imperfections, it’ll be time to add some intentional ones. I’ve got a dyed red flight suit, yellow belts, and a chest box that I’ll do a custom paint job for.

This is my first card graded through CGC, and my 4th overall grading submission. I thought it might could be a 10, but I wouldn’t have guessed it would return a pristine. I’m happy that one of my favorite pulls scored so high. Maybe I get another one day, but I doubt it will be a card that I care about as much as I care about this one.

Accomplishments first, questions second. Very excited to see my first resident move into my frog hotel. It’s a small container pond with a dish in the center that I drilled out to be a fountain dish.

My first pass isn’t perfect, as I haven’t quite figured out how I can get the fountain water to water all the plants (the caladium is in a container separate from the rest and gets watered). I can’t seem to manage to balance out the top dish, so the water usually picks a place that it likes to run out. Some of the plants aren’t having the best time because of that. I added some Sphagnum under the small ficus bonsai in the back close to the roots that I hope will keep it alive. If I have a question I guess what I’m asking for ways of keeping aquatic type plants alive when they’re planted on the surface gravel layer without the water being evenly distributed? Should I just keep a jug of spring water handy and just water them regularly?

I have tracked down several other members of the Pokemon Reddit communities that have also fallen victim to this scammer. Do not attempt to buy it. I'm hoping that by continuing to put images out there that can pop up in reverse searches, people will be dissuaded from dealing with this guy.

Where is this scammer active?

Currently they have listings on Craigslist in California, Minneapolis, and the Greater Metro Atlanta area. There may be more that I haven't found.

If you have been scammed by this set of images, the person was likely asking $300 or $400 dollars for the binder, they offered to ship it to you for half now and half later, and they never followed through. If you have been scammed by this person: GOOD NEWS. In collaboration with other members of the Pokemon community, we have tracked down the individual responsible for this scheme. I am hoping that this reaches other victims to encourage them that I will be doing something about this. This person has committed a litany of suspected crimes in furtherance of their scam, including financial crimes, suspected identity theft of a deceased, and mail fraud. I believe that by adding evidence from other people's stories, I can provide a compelling open-and-shut case to investigators.

I spoke with the person via phone, asked for time stamps, and required a tracking number. I still didn't feel entirely comfortable, and I should have listened to that gut feeling. The point of this post is for this to gain visibility, to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else, and to gather the narratives of other folks who have been duped. We are all embarrassed that we fell for this. Our embarrassment is a small price to pay to put other people on notice.

I've received my first grades back (probably my last from PSA given the price hikes), but I'm genuinely excited. I wasn't so delusional to expect 10's, rather, I was really just interested in seeing the process through for some of the cards in my collection that I really like. I'm perfectly content with the grades I received. I know some of the raws would probably outprice some of the grades I received, but I just think they're neat. Anyway, this one hit the higher than I expected, so that's pretty exciting.
