I'd like to get a further idea of what kind of community this is please
Hi, I'm Earthling. I run a few vegan pages and I do lots of work for the animals. Yesterday I posted in here about r/askvegans and how my question "how can we as vegans navigate online hostility/censorship" was removed and I was accused of soapboxing and trolling vegans by the r/askvegans mod. I thought here would be a safe space to post about that story but apparently not. I will say the mods in here haven't yet taken public opinion and ran with it so I respect that and they've allowed me to speak, that means something to me. However, I've witnessed victim blaming, dogpiling, harassment and swearing in this group. Constant trolling and manipulation. I've never been in such a toxic space in my life between here and r/askvegans. Take my advice or leave it. This is a toxic community. I've never claimed to be perfect but I've never sat online and watched someone burn "for their own good". If this is what you want to represent then go ahead and hide the audit. Is this who we are as vegans? To be clear 15 people think I need to take it better when I'm treated poorly. Instead of wondering why a vegan mod would remove my question. Y'all are strange in here. Some exceptions and I love you for that. I don't think the mods need to alter anything, I just think many in here need a lesson on civility and fairness. Thank you.
