Worth applying?

I recently graduated college with a bachelors degree. I am looking to enter the field, but I have an interesting issue in my background. I am from
NY and our public records law is referred to FOIL (think FOIA if you have ever heard of it).

I made a request to a police department for disciplinary records for an officer who is notorious in the area for having many complaints. The records were denied under an “unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. I filed an administrative appeal and it was denied under the same exemption.

I then hired an attorney and sued the police department, which shall remain nameless. I won. The judge ordered the records be released to me and the village pay reasonable attorneys fees to me. This was two months ago. Is it worth applying to become an LE officer. No im not applying to the place I sued.

Is it normal for my fiance (22F) to constantly search my (22M) phone and purge my socials?

I recently got engaged. My now fiance has been going through my phone regularly. I do not have any opposition to this and I have nothing to hide. I have been nothing but faithful to her and have never cheated. She did early in our relationship (October 2024) but I forgave that (she did take a year to confess as she only told me in January 2026). We both just graduated college. About a week after I graduated, she went through my Snapchat and Instagram (only two socials I really use) and removed any woman I had on snap. Two were friends of mine that I met in school and planned on staying in touch with. Another one was the girlfriend of another male friend of mine whom she despises. I am not permitted to be friends with that man anymore apparently. She removed anyone who was not a relative or her. Mind you, one of them was a reference for a background check I have coming up (I work for the government). I now have no way of communicating with that person. If I add her back it will be WW3. Then my instagram was the target. Anyone who was not a relative and was a girl was removed "because I do not need to follow other girls" and it is cheating to do so.

All of my friends think I am nuts for staying with her.

Lawsuit?

Can I be a trooper in New York (or really a law enforcement officer in general) if I have sued a City government over a FOIL request. I hired an attorney over denied law enforcement records. A city police department denied my request, but the Court overturned it. Will this screw me out of an LE career?

No im not applying to said agency I sued.

CST info changes

Just wanted to say to everyone currently at CST that information will change a lot! I went last year and a bunch of stuff changes from 1st-10th regiment. I was told that if you are missing just one item you’d be sent home. Then it went to losing accessions points then to absolutely nothing happening. Same with the AFT (I’m aware it’s send home criteria for this year).

Just reminding MS3s that changes happen.

Test?

My girlfriend has been on BC since April. She thinks she may be pregnant as she took St John’s Wort for a few days around the time we had unprotected sex (May 14-18). She has tested negative a few times but last night she claimed to have seen a line on a blue test. I didn’t see one but she swears up and down there was one. She is also claiming to have symptoms for the past week. What is the chance here?

Two tickets in one

I recently rolled through a stop sign. The officer wrote me for 1172 and 1180a. One is blowing the stop sign and the other for speed not reasonable/prudent. I personally think the 1180a is total BS as I wasn’t even speeding. Oh well. Hired an attorney to help me with it.

Can I do this trip?

I am planning a trip overseas for July. I recently commissioned as an active duty 2LT in ADA. I have not received any BOLC orders or anything whatsoever. My HRA told me I tentatively have a BOLC date for January but it could change at any moment.

Am I good to book this as it is nonrefundable and is a book within the next week or lose it type of deal (found flights for dirt cheap). I’m worried about getting an email with orders to report in July.

Don’t get me wrong I’d love to start my active duty time ASAP but if it isn’t going to happen until January I’d love to book now. Sort of annoying that I don’t know for sure by now as I’m already commissioned.

Commissioning as an active-duty ADA officer in two weeks. Why is there a lot of doom and gloom associated with ADA?

Sent a large envelope certified return receipt on April 23 to Seattle, WA. It made it to Seattle and instead went to Kansas? Huh?

Edit: Redacted my home post office
