What would you do in my position ?

So I’m at a crossroads career wise and I genuinely don’t know what the smartest move is anymore. I have my master’s in Exercise Science and Wellness: Fitness and Performance along with my ACSM-EP certification. The problem is I don’t really have much experience besides internships from undergrad, and I’m not finding much luck getting into the exercise physiologist field. Most of the EP jobs I do see would probably require me to move states, and honestly I refuse to do that at this point in my life unfortunately.

Originally during undergrad my plan was PT or OT school. But realistically I just couldn’t make it work financially. I’ve always been super independent and had to work full-time plus part-time just to pay bills. During my bachelor’s degree it worked because it was during Covid and I only had like one in-person class a semester. PT or OT school obviously wouldn’t be like that and I don’t think I could survive not working much for multiple years.

And yes, before anyone says it, I know I probably should’ve researched job options better before going for my master’s. I know. I didn’t. And honestly I regret it.

Now I’m considering massage therapist school. The program would only be 4.5 months long from October to February, and the schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:30-5 which would still let me work nights or weekends part-time. Honestly it seems way more realistic financially and lifestyle wise.

Part of me feels bad because I already have a master’s degree, but another part of me feels like I need to be practical. If I ever did go fully back to school it would probably be nursing, not PT/OT. I honestly think doctorate-level schooling would be too much for me and sometimes I don’t think I’m smart enough for it lol.

What do you think ?

Income Approval

Currently unemployed due to a work injury and on workers comp, but I should be cleared to work again within the next month and job hunting has actually been going really well so far. Doing multiple interviews but no offers yet as most of these jobs have a 2-step interview process.

My issue right now is getting approved for an apartment. I have about $17k in savings, a 770 credit score, and 5 years of solid rental history with no issues. The problem is my current workers comp income alone doesn’t meet the typical 2.5x to 3x rent requirement.

I’ve tried offering to show bank statements, provide proof of savings, and even offered to pay a few months upfront, but a lot of places either stop responding or still deny me. I also tried offering a co-signer, but some places said with a co-signer they’d require us to make almost 8x the rent combined, which seems insane to me.

Once I’m cleared to work again, I’ll have 2 jobs lined up, one full-time at $26/hr (40 hrs/week) and one part-time at $22/hr (around 20 hrs/week), so income won’t really be an issue much longer. I just feel stuck in this weird in-between phase right now.

Has anyone dealt with something similar or have advice on how to get around the income requirement temporarily? Smaller landlords? Anything else I should try?

Interview Attire

For one of my practical interviews I was told to show up in athletic professional attire. What should I wear ?

My everyday wardrobe consists of sweatpants and leggings, with sweatshirts and t-shirts, not really trying to buy anything.

edit: I can’t wear shorts due to scarring issues, I’m also a female

just wanted to update you on my recent post, they cancelled the order and are sending a full refund. if this ever happens to you, do NOT immediately dispute with your bank as that will delay the whole process. they also answered me faster in the portal than through email. and to the negative nancy’s who were talking crap, please go outside and touch grass some of you need help😂

Brello Refund ?

Has anyone had success in getting a refund from Brello. I completely forgot to pause my subscription due to me being in the ICU for two months, getting out for a month, and then having a hip surgery a couple days ago. I didn’t need anymore medication because I still have 2 months from my last order due to me needing to stop it while in the hospital and for my hip surgery. They took the money out of my account but then sent an email saying I needed to complete the questionnaire to complete my order. I obviously didn’t not do the questionnaire and sent about 2 emails and 3 other messages letting them know my situation. Also the address I have on file I’m not even at anymore and I don’t have a valid shipping address at the moment. When I log onto the portal it does say that it’s waiting for a practitioner to review and gives me a button to click that says “start visit“ which I’ve been using Brello for over a year and have never seen this message before. I’m hoping they will refund me as I’m drowning in $600,000 of medical bills and did not need to lose this $500 to medicine I’m barely taking anymore.

Had bad HS in armpits got surgery in 2018, gone no reoccurrence. came back full throttle in my groin area about 3 years ago, did everything. diet change, medication, hormones, vitamins. nothing worked so I opted for surgery. had surgery, spent 2 months in the ICU and had 3 procedures. everything heals great I’m released March 19th. I feel like my age again and not in pain. I don’t even need to take pain meds to get through my days. fast forward today I’m putting deorderant on, I notice a small bump (outside surgical area) on my armpit. here we fucking go again. 🙄
