am I losing ?

I'm 23 years old, a software developer with about 4 years of experience. I started freelancing at 16, remote work at 18, and my first corporate job at 19.

Right now I have a full-time job, plus freelance and contract work. In a good month I make around 17k–20k MAD. I also have savings and investments (crypto + stock market) worth around 30 million centimes (300,000 MAD).

I have a Master's degree, I was always first in my class, and some of my university professors even trusted me to teach advanced topics to other students. I speak English and a bit of French. I go to the gym, train boxing, and play chess.

From the outside, it sounds like I'm doing okay. But inside, I feel like a complete loser.

I constantly feel like everything I've achieved is fake, like I fooled everyone. I compare myself with people all over the world and always feel behind. It feels like I only work hard, not smart, and that I should have become much more by now.

I'm religious. I stay away from haram, never had relationships, and I truly believe that rizq is in Allah's hands while we still have to work for it. I even wonder if planning to get married in the next few years is the cause, or if it's just my mind making me think I'm not enough.

These feelings are affecting my family too. They always see me looking sad or lost, like something is missing from my life.

My family isn't rich, but Alhamdulillah we have our own house, food, and clothes. If I wanted anything extra, I had to earn it myself. I bought my first laptop, paid for the internet at home, paid my university tuition, paid for my driving lessons, and I help my family whenever they need me.

I also had a difficult childhood. I was very sick for months. I barely ate anything except very thin slices of apple, I kept vomiting, and doctors couldn't find anything physically wrong. I also experienced very strange hallucinations and sensations that terrified me. Alhamdulillah, Allah healed me without medication. I don't know if any of that has anything to do with how I think today.

Another thing I've always noticed is that I'm extremely competitive. Even during easy exams, instead of focusing on my own paper, I'd keep looking at where everyone else was, afraid they would finish before me. That anxiety would actually make me slower.

So my question is: What is this?

Am I setting impossible expectations for myself? Is this impostor syndrome? Am I comparing myself to the entire world instead of my own journey? Or is there something deeper going on?

I genuinely don't understand why, despite everything, I still feel like I'm failing at life.

Genuine question for women: What do you consider a "stable" man for marriage?

I'm curious to hear different perspectives, especially from women.

When you think of a man in his mid to late 20s who's looking to get married, what does "stable" actually mean to you?

For example, financially:

  • Does he need to own a house?
  • Own a car?
  • Have his own business?
  • Earn a high salary (for example, 20,000+ MAD/month), or is a steady income enough?

In terms of personality:

  • What qualities matter the most?
  • Are there any deal-breakers besides the obvious ones?

Socially:

  • Does he need to be outgoing and well-connected, or is it perfectly fine if he's more introverted and prefers spending time with family and close friends?

One thing I'm particularly curious about is housing. Given today's economy, buying a home in your 20s can be very difficult. Is owning a house something you genuinely expect before marriage, or is it enough for a man to have a stable plan and be working toward that goal?

For those who managed to become financially established at a young age, what advice would you give? And for women, how important is owning a home compared to other aspects of stability?

Message to the Mods of This Sub

I know this sub is for dating, and everyone has different reasons for being here. Some are dating for marriage, some just want something casual, and some are just wasting each other's time or following their lust.

But I think the moderators should really check posts like the one where a guy was promoting a prostitution website, talking about his experience, and trying to romanticize it. There are different types of people here, including teenagers, and some of them could be influenced in a bad way.

Please don't take this message as me trying to judge anyone. I'm only saying this because I want to help keep the community safe. We all make mistakes, and I'm not in a position to judge anyone. T9ablo morori, but I just wanted to share my concern.

Seeking advice from brothers and sisters who waited for marriage

This is my first time posting here.

I'm male with a stable job. I have been saving for marriage, mainly to buy an apartment or build a house one day.

There is a girl I studied with at university. Her mother used to ask me to take care of her when we were going back home from university, so that's how I got to know her. I first developed feelings for her. She is very kind, very sensitive, doesn't really have friends, doesn't like crowded places, and she wears hijab.

Back in school I used to help her study, and by the end I graduated first in my school. As time passed, my feelings became stronger. I eventually told her how I felt, but I also asked her to forget about it until the day I come properly to her parents' house , and she agreed. That was a long time ago.

The reason I still haven't gone is because her family is richer than mine. Alhamdulillah, my family is doing fine, but not at the same level as hers. I also wanted to own a home first, but with today's economy that feels almost impossible. I work a full-time job as a software developer, do freelance work, and also take contract jobs. Between my savings and investments I've managed to save around $40k, but nowadays that doesn't really get you very far.

The point is that lately I've been feeling overwhelmed. I'm afraid that lust might eventually push me toward something haram. Not with this girl, of course, but I'm afraid of falling into sins like visiting a bad places or something similar. The strange thing is that I really try to stay firm in my deen. I spend a lot of time reading and learning about Islam, and honestly I don't know why these feelings are becoming so overwhelming.

I try not to stay alone too much. I only go outside when I need to. I avoid looking at other women and try my best to lower my gaze. Even when I go out, I finish what I need to do and come straight back home. I don't watch movies or anything that shows women unnecessarily. Yet despite all of that, I still feel overwhelmed.

I know it's probably normal because of my age and hormones, but I'm honestly tired. How do I deal with this?

I really want to marry this girl, take care of her in a halal way, and stay faithful. Sometimes these feelings become so strong that I cry because I feel like I'm losing control. I even stopped spending time with some of my friends because they constantly talked about women's and objectified them, and I didn't want that to influence me.

In my free time I cook, take care of my plants, play chess, and do boxing. I also go to the gym from time to time. Most of the time I keep myself busy. I'm trying to start a business as well. I read books about fiqh and about how our Prophet ﷺ and the Sahabah treated their families. I also do charity work whenever I can.

Please make du'a that Allah keeps me firm. I really love who I'm becoming. I want to give my love to one person only and keep becoming a better version of myself for her.

There is no contact between me and the girl. I only have her parents' phone number and I know where they live.

The only thing holding me back is wanting to become a little more stable financially. I'm also afraid that everything could collapse, that I could lose everything I've worked for, and that it would affect her life. I don't want to bring her into a situation where I can't provide for her or give her the kind of life and security that her father has given her.

Jazakum Allahu khayran for reading, and may Allah make things easy for everyone seeking marriage.
