Need shoe advice for flat/wide feet after chronic ankle ligament injury

I have wide, flat feet and a previous right ankle injury. MRI showed a chronic low-grade partial ATFL tear, chronic CFL injury with scarring, and chronic deep deltoid ligament injury. I also use custom insoles from my podiatrist.

My podiatrist recommended:

- New Balance 880 / 1080

- Brooks Ghost / Glycerin

- HOKA Clifton / Bondi

I'm mainly deciding between the NB 880v15 Wide and Brooks Glycerin 23 Wide.

Mainly for walking to/from work, cycling and occasional short slow jogs. I prefer something stable and not too high off the ground.

Which would you choose? Also, regular Glycerin or GTS if I'm already using custom insoles?

For the 1000th post like this how does the 42mm HydroConquest look on my wrist?

Picked up the Longines HydroConquest 42mm and thought I’d share a wrist shot for anyone wondering how the 42mm wears on a larger wrist.

My wrist is around 7.48 inches (19cm). Personally, I think the 42mm fits pretty well and has the right amount of wrist presence without looking oversized.

Hopefully this helps anyone deciding between the different HydroConquest sizes.

30 years old, 10+ years in the security industry. What should I do next?

I've been working in the security industry for over 10 years. I only have N-Levels currently, but I'm completing a part-time Polytechnic Diploma(PSS) related to my field and will graduate next year.

I'm honestly sick of my current job, especially the long working hours, and I don't see myself doing uniformed/ground work long term. I also have some shoulder and ankle issues so that ain't fun but its not a limitation at all. so I'm looking for something more office, executive or management based.

The problem is I don't really know what I want to do or what my passion is. I like helping people and animals, but I also want decent pay and progression, ideally around S$4k-S$5k basic eventually.

For further studies, I'm considering:

- Specialist Diploma in Security Technology Management (1 Year but not accredited by MHA)

- Part-time Bachelor of Public Safety & Security at SUSS (About 3 years)

- Finish my current diploma and focus on changing jobs first (Which is what in currently doing but I need a path, a goal you know)

- Take a different course and explore another industry (I NEED ADVICE ON THIS!)

What should I do job wise if I decide to switch? Any advice? Running on fumes tbh.

Blue or Green Longines HydroConquest? Got the black already

I already own the black HydroConquest and can get another color at a discounted price (28% off)

I'm torn between the blue and green

The blue is more versatile but feels very close to my black. The green is more unique, but I'm worried it's too loud and won't pair as well with most outfits.

If you could only pick one, which would you choose and why?

Is this how my Longines HydroConquest 42mm is supposed to fit?

I've had nothing but issues with the bracelet on my Longines HydroConquest 42mm and I'm honestly getting sick of it. Been to like 3 Longines boutique.

I've already had it resized, but I'm still not sure if the fit is right. I've attached a wrist shot and two side photos of the bracelet. Like the bottom of the watch never fully lay flat. And i feel there is that gap there that the bracelet ain't suppose to be there. Also the people from Longines even shifted the clasp of the watch further back. So idk what am I suppose to do now lol.

Help!!

HydroConquest bracelet resize: Uneven screw heads and mixed screw ends?

I just had my HydroConquest bracelet resized at an official Longines boutique in Singapore(Jewel). After getting home, I noticed some of the push pin heads don't sit at the same depth. Some are perfectly flush, while others stick out slightly.

I also noticed that on one side of the bracelet, some links have a slotted pin head while the other have a smooth, non-slotted end, so the pattern isn't consistent.

Is this normal for the HydroConquest bracelet, or was something reassembled incorrectly during the resize?

P.S. This was my third visit to a Longines boutique, and it has felt cold and unwelcoming every time. They don't respond to emails too. Smh..

HydroConquest 42mm bracelet fit issue after resizing. Normal?

I recently had my HydroConquest 42mm bracelet resized (crown side down btw) at a Longines boutique, and I've noticed a couple of issues since then (photos attached).

  1. There is now a gap between the bracelet and the clasp, and the gaps on both sides where the bracelet meets the clasp look different than before.

  2. The watch leans to one side on my wrist, leaving a larger gap between the case and my wrist. It also moves around quite a bit, and I can't seem to find a comfortable fit.

Is this normal for the HydroConquest, or could the bracelet have been configured differently during resizing? Would taking it back to have the bracelet rebalanced or adjusted help?

Buying My First Tudor Black Bay 41 Burgundy from a Grey Dealer. Any Advice?

I'm considering buying a brand new Tudor Black Bay 41 Burgundy (Ref. M7941A1A0RU-0003) from a grey dealer in Singapore.

Price: S$4,550 (≈ US$3,523)

Full box & papers/Dated February 2026/Tudor warranty until February 2031

I currently own a Longines HydroConquest 42mm and a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm.

This will be my first grey market purchase. Any advice on what I should check before buying, or any red flags to look out for?

Tudor Royal 40 vs Black Bay 41, Which Would You Choose?

I'm deciding between these two, both brand new from the grey market:

Tudor Royal 40 (Blue), S$3,550 (≈US$2,749)

Tudor Black Bay 41 (Blue), S$4,000 (≈US$3,097)

I currently own a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 (40mm) and a Longines HydroConquest (42mm).

I love the Royal's blue dial, fluted bezel, and integrated bracelet. Both have Tudor's latest in-house movements with a 70-hour power reserve, COSC, silicon hairspring, and a 5-year warranty.

I'll mainly wear it, but resale still matters.

Would you pay the extra S$450 (≈US$348) for the Black Bay, or choose the Royal? Which fits my collection better and is likely to hold its value better?

Is this clasp gap normal on my Longines HydroConquest after bracelet resizing?

I didnt notice this before but I had my Longines HydroConquest 42mm bracelet resized at the Longines boutique. After that, I noticed this gap on the clasp (left photo). If I press up on it slightly, it sits much more flush (right photo).

The clasp locks securely and functions normally.

Is this gap normal, or should it sit flush without me pressing on it? Worth bringing it back to the boutique? Thanks!

Is this the correct bracelet fit, or should I add a link?

I've been wearing my new Longines HydroConquest 42mm for the past 2 days, and I'm still trying to figure out if the bracelet is sized correctly.

Based on the attached photos, does it look too tight? Most of the time it feels fine, but occasionally it feels a bit tight depending on the time of day. I've already maxed out the clasp's micro-adjustment, so I can't make it any looser without adding links.

If you think it's too tight, should I add 1 link or 2? If the consensus is that it's too tight, I'll head back to the AD and have them resize it.

Thanks in advance!

Do you'll get your watches insured?

Might be a dumb question but I just got the Longines HydroConquest 42mm. Was wondering if any of you got it insured?

Thanks!

Looking for a 40–42mm automatic microbrand with a Jubilee/5-link bracelet

Hi guys, I'm looking for a 40–42mm automatic from a microbrand that comes with a Jubilee, Consort, or other 5-link bracelet.

I've checked out Christopher Ward and Henry Archer, but neither really clicked with me. Looking for something with a bit more personality or a design that stands out.

I'd prefer a blue, Tiffany/light blue, or white dial.

My current collection is a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 (40mm), Longines HydroConquest (42mm), and Orient Triton (43.4mm), so I'm hoping to add something that feels different rather than overlapping with what I already own.

No set budget, just interested in seeing what brands or models I might have overlooked.

Just bought a HydroConquest 42mm... and then Longines goes and releases this 😅

Picked up a HydroConquest 42mm yesterday, and now this new Master Collection is calling my name.

The white textured dial, blue hands, and Arabic numerals just look incredible. Didn't expect to be tempted this soon.

Would this be a good first Tudor?

I'm looking to buy my first Tudor and came across this Tudor Royal 41mm (ref. 28600) with the black Roman numeral dial.

Details:

> Price: S$2,700 (≈ US$2,090)

> Mint condition

> Full set

> Dated June 2025

> Manufacturer's warranty until June 2030

> 41mm, stainless steel

For context, I currently own:

Longines HydroConquest 42mm & Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm, both with black dial.

I have a 19 cm wrist, I'm 6 ft tall and around 240 lbs, so I think the 41mm should fit well.

Does this seem like a good deal at this price, or would you save up for a Black Bay instead? I'm also curious how the Tudor Royal has held up for those who've owned one. I don't see many discussions about it, but the integrated bracelet and fluted bezel really caught my eye.

[Longines HydroConquest] 39mm or 42mm based on how my 40mm PRX fits?

I'll be picking up a Longines HydroConquest tomorrow and I'm torn between the 39mm and 42mm.

For reference, these photos show how my 40mm Tissot PRX fits on my wrist. My wrist measures 18.5 to 19cm below the wrist bone (towards the elbow).

If it matters, I'm 6ft (183cm) and 245 lbs.

Based on these photos, would you go with the 39mm or 42mm HydroConquest? I'm after the size that has the best proportions while still having good wrist presence.

I'd especially love to hear from anyone who has tried both sizes and has similar wrist measurements to mine. What made you choose one over the other?

u/ElPunitore — 1 month ago

Longines HydroConquest 39mm Boutique offered me these options. Which would you pick?

Called my local Longines boutique today and these are the 39mm HydroConquest variants they currently have available. I'm probably going to end up with the black dial hahaha, but if you think one of the one of the other colours is the better choice, convince me why 🤣

[Longines or Christopher Ward] HydroConquest 39mm vs The Twelve 40mm?

Looking for some opinions from those who've owned either.

Current collection:

Orient Triton (black dial)

Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm (black dial)

I'm deciding between the Longines HydroConquest 39mm and the Christopher Ward The Twelve 40mm. The Longines is about S$800 more.

The HydroConquest seems like the stronger watch overall in terms of heritage, movement, and brand recognition. The CW would add a white dial and more variety to my collection.

Which would you choose in my position, and why?

u/ElPunitore — 1 month ago

Help me choose my CW12

I usually gravitate towards black dial watches, but I'm looking at the Christopher Ward The Twelve and can't decide between Blue, White, or Glacier Blue which are the only colours available in 40mm(Stainless Steel).

I'm 6 ft, around 250 lbs (113 kg), with a 19 cm wrist, and this will be my daily watch. I also do fairly rugged work, so it'll see more than just office wear.

Which colour would you pick and why? Would you stick with the versatile blue, go for the clean white, or choose the Glacier Blue for something more unique?

Interested to hear from owners, especially those who've lived with these colours for a while.

Tissot PRX 40mm fits me well — should I get the Christopher Ward The Twelve in 40mm or 38mm?

The Tissot PRX 40mm fits my wrist well (photo attached). Based on how it wears on me, would you recommend the Christopher Ward The Twelve in 40mm or 38mm?

I'm interested in which size you think would have the better proportions on my wrist and why. Would love to hear from anyone who's tried both sizes.
