How I feel being the only teen at work and all of my coworkers are at least 20.

Hi, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts of 2008ers being scared or rather terrified of being 18 and sometimes they’re the first person to turn 18. But, at my work I’m the youngest out of all my coworkers. I have not met a single teenager our age or younger. It feels interesting and I feel much older than a teen because I’m used to talking and communicating with older people especially since I also have a job.

Rant

I can’t believe the 2026-27 year is my first year where I’m not in school and I’ll be working instead to make money. I’m taking a gap year to reset my mindset and life. My entire K-12 experience was horrible. I almost didn’t graduate highschool. But now I’m out of that school system and in a new phase of life.

How it feels that my older sibling’s age are all college class of 26 or 27.

Hi, I saw that all of us are either highschool class of 26 or 27 and it made me think of our older peers. I have an older sibling who is born in 2004 and is part of the 2003-2004 group and it made me realize that they’re all graduating college this year or next year. I still remember when they graduated highschool back in 2022. Now they’re all turning 23 this year or next year and it sounds unreal to me. I still remember when they first turned 18 back in late 2021 to 2022.

Do grandparents height matter that much?

Hi, I’m a 5’11 Asian guy and I learned that my grandfather on my dad’s side was only 5’4 which is extremely short for a man. My grandmother on my dad’s side is also 5’4 but it’s normal since she’s a woman. I feel like I got lucky but my mom’s side is tall, I feel like I got my height from my mom’s side.

Are there people waiting for the November 25th 2030 total solar eclipse?

This might be early but just wondering if there’s people who are waiting until this event gets closer. The totality of this total solar eclipse is visible in South Africa & Australia.

Everyday I dream that I’ll have a girlfriend one day.

Hi, I’m an 18 year old guy and I never had a girlfriend or a first kiss before. Everyday before I go to sleep or take a nap I talk to myself and just picture myself being with a very pretty girl. I have been seeing posts on this sub for some time and it gives me hope. I have talked with girls before but it never got romantic. I don’t have a single girl’s phone number on my phone (besides my mom). I just want to talk to a girl all day and face-time her.

Is it weird if I didn’t understand partners or relationships until I was 17?

Hi, I’m 18M and I see posts here about 13-16 year olds either having a crush, have an issue with their bf/gf or even with your ex if it gets to that point, or just want a partner and it got me thinking that when I was that age I was still a kid who would play video games and go to school and just hangout with my friends. I didn’t even have crush on a girl back then. For some reason I kinda regret it but I think it’s definitely way better since obviously teens at that age are too young to get into relationships but now since I’m quite a bit older I think about myself having a gf everyday.

It feels weird being the younger sibling and done with highschool.

Hi, I’m the younger sibling and I was class of ‘26 and my older sibling was class of ‘22. It gives an interesting idea knowing that from now on we’re on our own lives past highschool. I feel young being the younger sibling but feel old because I’m done with highschool. I feel like an era has definitely ended and a new one has started.

In 2036, if life is somehow good then how will you look back at your highschool years 10 years ago?

Hi, I’m sure a majority of us are highschool class of 2026 besides a small group of people and I saw on the graduation post that there were much older people who were highschool class of 2015, 2016, and 2017 that commented on that post. It got me thinking that they graduated roughly 10-ish years ago. It got me wondering that about 10 years later in 2036 then we will be at the same position as them. I wonder what stage of life we’ll be in at that point and how much we will reflect and remember our past?

Highschoolers, do you have a time capsule that you made in kindergarten and it’s been many years but it’s not the time to open it yet?

Hi, I’m a highschool senior who finally graduates in 2 days and I was looking through some of my old stuff and I found a time capsule that I made in kindergarten all the way back in the 2013-14 school year. I saw it and it said “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2027” so I didn’t open it obviously since it’s not 2027. But, I got a bit confused about why it’s set for 2027 and not 2026 because I’m highschool class of 2026. Normally for time capsules you make in kindergarten the open date is usually set to be around the end of your senior year of highschool. Anyways, it also got me thinking that I should open it on January 1, 2027. I wonder if anyone else also has time capsules that are in right now but it’s not time to open it yet.

Seniors who graduated last month or this month, are your school emails gone?

Hi, I’m a highschool senior who finally graduates this week and I got an email saying that on June 30th the last day of this month, my school email will no longer be available since I’m no longer a highschool student. Also, it said that anyone wants to save information from their school emails then they should save it before June 30th so that they don’t lose it. I wonder if anyone else also got similar information about their school emails?

How I felt hearing from a coworker of mine at work who is also a senior in highschool and that her graduation is on MONDAY, JUNE 29TH…

And I thought my June 25th graduation was very late.

How long are your summer breaks?

Hi, I’m a senior who’s graduating in 8 days and looking back my summer breaks are usually between 70-75 days mostly like 73 or 74 days. However, I saw the school calendar for next school year even if I’m not there anymore and I saw that the first day of school is on September 3rd. Also, our last day of school is on June 25th. If you do the math, then this coming summer break for the current freshman-juniors is only 68 days. That’s the shortest summer break I’ve seen by far. I’ve never seen a summer break that’s less than 70 days.

Do you have any teachers that are retiring the next school year or fairly soon?

Hi, I’m a highschool senior and my finance teacher is retiring soon possibly the next school year. At first I was surprised but then I realized it makes total sense after I discovered that 1960 is her birth year. But, I wonder if anyone else also has some teachers that are going to retire?
