Check out this new Indie animated short film!! - THE BOULDER THEORY 🪨

I follow the creator on Instagram, and helping them by liking and spreading the video will be great for it. They put a lot of time into it and it’s great to see more Paleo themed Indie animated projects.

Here’s a link to their Insta too!: https://www.instagram.com/thebouldertheory_film?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Also the director name is Quinn Tisdale (I DIDN’T MAKE THIS, I’m just sharing his work)

Does anyone wonder how beautiful and clean the world must’ve have been during the Pleistocene 🤔

(Sorry for the studio ghibli nature images, I didn’t knew what to put but I really love how those movies portray the wilderness)

Whenever I go hiking, it really makes me appreciate the world my ancestors. Even in the woods I still hear airplanes, cars etc. being alone in nature really humiliates a modern person because it removes the external stuff like money, cars, school etc. it’s just you and the wild.

There were times when hiking I’ve find a spot and I’m like whoa imagine how that would look during the Pleistocene, how lush and beautiful the world would’ve had been with how humans didn’t had a major impact on the environment, YET.

I really want to capture this beauty in my indie show I’m making “Hominin tales” portraying nature as like another character like what ghibli did sort of. It makes sense too since the Pleistocene was the most alive and untamed time in human history ever.

You can argue that humans evolved and came from nature we inherently have “Biophilia” within us aka the love of nature which in studies it shows that our stress levels tend to lower in it.

Also this is not saying things were better back then certainly not, many humans died due to predators, climate and etc. but in this wild world they once lived in I bet they found a sense of solitude and beauty in the same time.

Best pencil brush to use for 2D animation for my Indie animated pilot?

Hey guys, quick question for people who animate in ToonSquid

What brushes do you usually use for smooth/fluid 2D animation?

I’m still trying to find a brush setup that feels good for frame-by-frame animation without the lines looking stiff or messy. I mostly do rough animation and animatics right now, but I also want something that could work for cleaner shots later.

The 2B pencil is pretty good so far.

Also wondering what stabilization settings people use because sometimes my lines feel too shaky or too slow.

Would love to hear what works for you guys 🙏

Also if you’re curious about my indie animated pilot you can check out the channel here if you’re curious:

The Continuation of My Carnivores Reboot Series — Reimagining the Tatem Dinosaurs (OC)

As D.H.C expanded its influence across FMM-UV-32, the corporation slowly shifted from a simple hunting organization into the largest xenobiological research institution in human history. While hunters continued to arrive for sport, research divisions began studying the planet’s wildlife in unprecedented detail.

What initially appeared to be alien animals merely resembling Earth dinosaurs soon revealed something far stranger.

D.H.C researchers discovered that every known species on FMM-UV-32 shared traces of a distant common ancestor a small six-eyed organism possessing segmented anatomy, spiracles, and a chitin-like exoskeleton similar to insects. Fossil evidence suggests these primitive creatures inhabited the planet’s ancient swamp systems millions of years before the emergence of the modern “dinosaurs.”

Over time, evolution on FMM-UV-32 repeatedly converged toward a single successful body plan: large terrestrial vertebrate-like predators and herbivores resembling Earth dinosaurs. D.H.C scientists coined this phenomenon “Dinoinization,” comparing it to the concept of carcinization on Earth, where unrelated crustaceans repeatedly evolve crab-like forms.

According to the hypothesis, the dinosaurian body plan may represent an ideal evolutionary solution for high-oxygen environments with intense competition between xenofauna. Bipedal posture, powerful tails, elevated skulls, and reinforced respiratory systems allowed these organisms to dominate nearly every ecosystem on the planet.

Some species still retain traits from their ancient segmented ancestors. The Troodon in particular possesses partially fused compound eyes. Other species retain vestigial abdominal segmentation beneath their skin, while embryonic scans reveal temporary exoskeletal growths during development.

Among all discovered species, Coelophysis is believed to be the most primitive surviving theropod lineage on the planet. Its lightweight frame, elongated body, and simpler respiratory structures suggest it diverged early from the ancestors of larger predatory forms. D.H.C researchers often refer to it as a “living transitional fossil.”

Meanwhile, Yaroslav Kravchenko oversaw humanity’s first truly successful colony on FMM-UV-32: Nibelungen Paradise, a heavily fortified settlement built along a tectonically stable coastal region. Unlike previous failed colonies, Nibelungen Paradise rapidly expanded into a permanent human foothold on the planet.

Its success brought new problems.

The discovery of petroleum-like resources beneath several islands attracted the attention of Earth governments and megacorporations eager to begin oil extraction. Human colonization also introduced plastics, industrial waste, and invasive microorganisms into ecosystems that had remained untouched for millions of years.

At the same time, explorers continued uncovering entirely new dinosaur species across isolated islands, suggesting the planet’s biodiversity is far greater than previously believed.

As D.H.C’s influence grew, legal controversy followed. Multiple nations challenged the corporation’s claim over FMM-UV-32, arguing that no private entity should possess control over an entire habitable world. However, due to D.H.C’s infrastructure, military presence, and economic influence, enforcement proved nearly impossible.

Despite humanity’s growing presence, the worst has yet to come. They weren’t the first sapient species to rule the planet and all their memories are in ruins.

I’m working on an Indie animated series about different human species “Hominin Tales” What are common mistakes media makes when portraying early humans that I should avoid?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working on an indie animated series called Hominin Tales. It’s an anthology focused on the lives of ancient human species, and I’ve just finished storyboarding the first

The core message of the show is:
“We are all human, no matter the species.”

Kind of similar to what Prehistoric Planet did for dinosaurs showing them as real animals instead of monsters but applied to other humans species, who are often portrayed as brutish or unintelligent.
One thing I’ve noticed (even without watching walking with cavemen fully) is that a lot of documentaries focus more on human evolution as a process, rather than the lived experiences of the humans themselves like their emotions, relationships, and daily struggles.

So here are my two questions:
What are common mistakes media makes when portraying early humans and also

What would you like to see done more accurately or differently?

Could these Murals from cityscape confirm the existence of these animals in the carnivores canon

Sorry for the poor quality but TIL, that these murals have some animals that never appeared in a carnivores game before. We see a large pterosaur maybe quetz perhaps and a styracosaurus dueling with some kind of tyrannosaur.

I like to imagine these of dinosaurs we’ve never seen in the game but are canon, IDK if dino hunt corp would just make random dinosaurs in-universe.

Honestly whenever I do cityscape for my reboot art series, I’ll love to draw these guys. Add some variety to the small roster.

“Sacrifice to the Sky Reaper” a clan of Ghouls, perform an ritual to appease their Azhdarchid God (OC)

“They bound my wrists with trembling hands, ropes biting deeper than their faith.”

I can feel it within them, these ghouls had no devotion but fear pretending to be holy.”

“Mother always told me to never leave, Listening to her would’ve had prevented this”
“But I see it now”

“Their god, a mere beasts worshipped by the savages
“A scream in the sky, Beak sharpen to indulge in its feasts”

“In my final breath, there is no god here only the hunger of a beasts, and the sadistic minds of the monsters followers.”

“The Mind adapted” a beautiful music animation about evolution on earth, made by Gutsick Gibbon

I’m not sure it would be considered paleoart per se, but I consider animation a art form so why not.

Savage By Heart (OC)

The real problem of humanity is the following: we have Paleolithic emotions; medieval institutions; and god-like Technology - (Edward O. Wilson)

u/EmronRazaqi69 — 15 days ago

After some consideration I’m deciding to go back into making another entry to my Carnivores reboot art series. Next in-line is the Dino’s from the Tatem Games, again I’m only make these out of genuine passion and inspiration I don’t want to cause burn out or have nothing special to offer.

Latest post: https://www.reddit.com/r/CarnivoresLodge/comments/1ro8d11/how_id_redesign_the_huntable_dinosaurs_from/

The first Dino here is Coelophysis the reason it has six eyes instead of four is it’s the most primitive/less evolved compared to the others. And even has a segmented body like an insect.
