First, I just wanna point out the obvious: if the Conflict never existed, humanity would be wiped out by the 2012 catastrophe and, if they survive, have to start all over again, only to be at risk of future catastrophes and no way to stop them (from what I gather from Layla’s laptop in Valhalla).

But back to the main topic, I was thinking about how in AC, most, if not all of the events of human history has been as a result of the Conflict. That makes me wonder what humanity would look like if the Conflict never existed. Or maybe, just by the nature of people being people and a-holes being a-holes, nothing would change much; there would still be wars and massive loss of innocent life.

I’m reading the Yokai illustrations in Nioh 2 and I get to the Lightning Gods of Yomi entry. From the entry and the fact that they are puppeting a tall rotting corpse (of what I’m assuming is the corpse of Izanami), this is evidence to me that the Japanese pantheon did/do exist in some capacity within Nioh’s world.

But then that makes me wonder about William’s and Yasuke’s Guardian Spirits - Saoirse and the Atlas Bear, respectively - and the nature of Guardian Spirits as a whole

1. if most Guardian Spirits are, as stated in their bios, “messengers of the gods”, then does that mean that the pantheon of other cultures and religions around the Nioh world exist as well?

2. Are Guardian Spirits essentially just “human fabrications,” entities given form through humans observing and giving meaning to inherently meaningless phenomena in nature?

3. If Saoirse has been with William since he was a child and one of the her abilities is to sense and locate Amrita, then does Amrita exist all throughout the world, not just in Japan?

I can’t remember where exactly I’ve heard this (probably from Ezio in Revelations), but there is the “suffering” that comes with being a member of the Assassins/Templars. I know there definitely is, but I just can’t find the words to properly articulate it. I don’t necessarily mean having to cut off a finger or experiencing bodily injuries; I mean the emotional, psychological, or even spiritual kind of suffering. Can anyone help me out please and give some examples if possible? Thank you in advance.

Essentially all of the duels between human bosses end with the boss saying something like “You’re strong. I gave it my all and I still lost… Oh well. I’ll just have to train harder.” And then show respect towards you.

I can’t help but imagine how funny it would be if there was a particular human boss in a duel, that boss is just spiteful and salty. Like you beat them and they’re like “F**k you, Anjin/Hidechiyo-dono/Takechiyo-dono…”

I recently found out about companion voice mods (specifically the Xelzaz and Remiel additional dialogue mods) and I’m just so envious of the players that are able to download mods like that. My hat is off to them.

I have Skyrim on PS5, but because (from what I understand) Sony restricts mods like that, I’ll always be so close, yet so far away.

I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m maulding, I’m just disappointed at PS for anything else. Seeing mods like that, among others, really makes me wanna download the game and play through it all over again after so many years away, just to see what my companions would say. Oh well. 😅
