I just found out that after over 30 years on this planet, I've just recently (within the past few weeks) developed a rather inconvenient cherry allergy. What is god's purpose in instantiating a reality in which this can happen? I'm having trouble imagining any intent or purpose that would explain this. If there is a god, he is not good. In deconstructing, many former theists (including myself) can trace back to the single bit of information that brought on the shift in perspective and the eventual arrival at atheism/agnosticism. I'm wondering if this is the same with former atheists

1. Some truths are inherently first-person experiential truths that can only be fully known by the subject having the experience.

Example- I can never personally know how anyone else experiences rocky road ice cream without actually experiencing that from their perspective

2. Fully knowing a first-person experiential truth requires being numerically identical to that subject.

In order to actually know what it feels like to taste and feel rocky road ice cream as Justin, I would actually have to BE Justin

3. By the law of identity, one being cannot be numerically identical to all distinct subjects simultaneously.

I cannot simultaneously be Justin and myself. A=A

Neither can god

4. Therefore, no single being can fully know all first-person experiential truths.

5. Omniscience requires knowing all truths.

6. Therefore, omniscience is logically impossible.

This was my response.

Anarchists and Marxists share end goals with relatively minor disagreement on how to achieve those goals.

These goals are horizontally organized society, decentralization of wealth and power, a stateless ideal future, and rejection of sociopolitical hierarchies.

The rejection of hierarchies is the biggest departure point between anarchists and Marxists/MLs. Anarchists typically favor the decentralized approach across the board (ie-toppling the state without replacing it) and relying on cooperative horizontally organized communities.

Marxists and MLs posit a strategically necessary working class state structured through short term hierarchical leadership, eventually fading to decentralized stateless communities and a "withering of the state"

Both usually reject intellectual property rights enforcement

It's summertime in Anchorage. That means encampments on the greenways. You can complain and call for them to be pushed out, but consider this-

Imagine owning nothing and knowing that if you find somewhere to shelter yourself, you'll soon be forced out and you won't be able to take your stuff with you. Imagine knowing that nothing you have truly "belongs" to you, because you can't actually secure your belongings. Imagine that you must choose between

1. cramped communal conditions without privacy

Or 2. Transient outdoor sheltering with an active eviction notice always floating over your tent

Now- imagine that you could maintain even a semblance of care or responsibility over your belongings under these conditions. If you can actually imagine that last part, then you're fooling yourself. You would not do better.
