Am I overreacting over this male colleague?

Hi Ladies, and NBs,

I wanted to post in a women's sub because many men would not understand.

I (35F) have a married colleague (40sM) who I suspected was attracted to me from when I first started working here, but I told myself that it was fine as long as he doesn't act on it. I work hybrid and like to be friendly with colleagues. When I'm in the office, I go around to people's desks to have a chat with them.

I didn't want to seem like I was avoiding him, so a couple of months ago I stopped at this colleague's desk for a friendly chat (but made sure someone else was with me so that it wasn't one on one). However, ever since then, his behaviour has shifted in a way I do not like.

He uses terms of endearment to address me, sends me hearts over Teams (IMO heart reactions aren't the same as sending hearts), calls me beautiful and comments on my dresses, and I'm not sure if I'm going crazy but could swear he suggested inviting himself along one time I told him about plans I had with friends after work. He touches my arm sometimes when he's passing by my desk and today was blowing kisses at me even though I didn't reciprocate. All of these things combined are making me feel rather disgusted. I don't want to be fancied by a married man. If we had a close, banterful work relationship then I wouldn't read into it, but I barely know him.

I want him to go back to more professional behaviour but I don't want to sound crazy and be gaslit if I raise this with him or someone else. Am I overreacting? I know I'm uncomfortable but don't know if there's anything that's concrete enough to raise concerns.

He hasn't had a date from the app yet, it seems.

This app (Breeze) gives you a badge if someone had a positive date with you and another one if you consistently don't flake and show up to dates. This man has neither, and his account isn't new 🤷🏾‍♀️

He also has a very good job, which refutes that tall guys with money can get women no matter what they do.

Pineapple Upside-down Cake

Best with warm custard, but in this weather it had to be vanilla ice cream.

Nutella stuffed cookies

I could have eaten 5+ of these but thankfully, guests finished them before I got the chance 😄

People on Instagram/TikTok calling their bakes lemon or strawberry "brownies"

The key is in the name. A brownie is a brown, chocolatey dessert. We all know that a blondie is not a brownie, and the same applies to whatever it is that they're baking. Why not call them lemonies, strawberry bars, are something more accurate?

Is anyone else being bitten by mosquitoes?

I don't recall ever being bitten by mosquitoes in London before this. Yet, I went to a family BBQ last Saturday wearing a summer dress and came back with bites all over my legs. It's horrible! Anyone find that they've been particularly vicious lately?

Sexual assault data is too low, why do you think that is?

I looked up the data in my country and it says 25% of women have been sexually assaulted. And yet, the majority of women I know have a story. Is it because people don't like to view themselves as victims? Or maybe they compare themselves to other victims, and think that what happened to them wasn't as bad? Or is it something else?

Things have happened to me multiple times in my life that were upsetting, but I wouldn't say traumatising. I am teaching myself to still acknowledge that these things would still be classed as SA. For an example: a random man walked up and kissed me on a night out abroad a couple of months ago and I was very angry at the time, but am OK now. This was SA, but I wonder if some people wouldn't acknowledge it as such if it happened to them, because it wasn't as violent as the things we stereotypically class as SA.

Suddenly, egg smells disgusting

Hi all,

I had my meals planned for the week and got myself a nice sourdough loaf for the breakfasts. Made avocado on toast this morning with sunnyside up eggs and some chilli flakes. I normally really enjoy this breakfast but today it left a horrible aftertaste. Now, the whole room smells strongly of eggs and it's making me feel nauseous.

I keep discovering new PMS symptoms as the years go by. Apparently you can get a heightened sense of smell. I did not need this 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Although I don't buy that everything bad happening in the West is due to Russian influence, Russia is no friend

I think it's a response to liberals basically calling every far-right politician a Russian asset (even though Western politicians are more than capable of doing fascism of their own accord), or maybe it's because of Western governments pretending to be morally superior when they're not, but I have seen certain leftists downplay how bad Russia is. This is still a country that supports far-right political parties, figures and movements throughout Europe and the rest of the West. For an example: I have just seen Yaxley-Lennon meeting up with members of the fascist Musk family in Moscow.

The US and Russian governments are both imperialists that hate each other because they both want to dominate. And while they have differing economic ideologies, both love White supremacy.

One of the strangest profiles I've had in my likes.

A clearly hurt individual seeking comfort, but he's liking the profiles of people who want something serious.

Dude needs a therapist, not dating apps. Yikes 😣. Also, I don't see anyone volunteering to give a stranger free therapy and affirmation.

Can't get enough of this bolognese.

Did a lot of research on how to make it authentic, and I think I've perfected my bolognese recipe. The soffritto at the start, the herbs, the wine, and adding milk to reduce tomato acidity. So good, especially with pappardelle or paccheri.

Looking for chocolatey chocolate cake (by the slice).

Hi Londoners 😊

I love cake and know how to bake a great chocolate cake. However, I can't just bake one whenever I feel like it because that's too much dessert for one person. I tend to bake when I have guests or am bringing it to a social/work event. I prefer to buy slices of cake when I'm on my own and have cravings.

I used to love going to Flavourtown Bakery for its chocolate cake slices. They were moist and decadent, but unfortunately the store has shut down permanently. Can anyone recommend an alternative?
