I’m sitting outside in my back yard that is overgrown (intentionally) like a jungle. I’m 6 blocks from the chain of lakes. It’s 77° in August and not wearing a shirt. Where are the mosquitoes?

This is weird. It’s 9:30 pm

Edit: Now it’s Tuesday at 9:30.
Im sitting on a bench at Lake of The Isles after finishing my glass of wine and not one single mosquito anywhere. On the lakeshore right after sunset. This is weird.

My favorite band from the Uptown Porchfest today out of the ten or so porches I made it to was called Greater Good from Minneapolis.

I loved the first book but the second book in fairly modern times kinda lost me. I’m starting Amber Spyglass soon but keep putting it off because I’m worried tried I’m going to be disappointed like with the subtle knife.

I like fantasy worlds with armored bears and witch queens. The second was Oliver twistish and I was really looking forward to reading everything in this universe after the GC. And now I’m discouraged. Should I continue or is this just not for me?

If you are out on work comp, and you break your leg or have another injury on your own time that will keep you from being able to do your PT and returning to work in the time your work injury heals, what are you supposed to do? Fmla gets used up at the beginning of a work comp case.

I thought the courts ruled trumps tariffs were unconstitutional. How can he reinstate new ones? He is claiming these dozens of countries use forced labor. He is talking about France, the UK, and Canada. Is he calling them slave owners? Why does this matter?

New to Discworld and I loved Small Gods. How important is order?

Because I’m using Libby for audio I’m at the mercy of holds and returns as to what order to read in if I don’t want to wait several months for a book before I start the next. I know there are a lot of these threads.
I planned on starting with guards guards after small gods but I still have a month or two wait for that and Eric. I have several months wait for reaper man.

I have moving pictures, witches abroad, and lords and ladies on loan now so those would be my next reads. Is moving pictures ok before Eric? Should I read wyrd sisters before witches abroad? Can I move on to men at arms if I still don’t have guards guards? Soul music if I haven’t read mort or reaper?

The later books are much more readily available so rather than reading chronologically, would it maybe be better to read the witches/ night watch series all the way through, rather than waiting for chronological books?

Trey last night during Slave after reminding people that the Orpheum was where Slave was recoded for A Live One in 94. Does anyone have last night’s set list?

Trey was having a blast last night because the crowd was singing along and the Orpheum is an old opera house and was built for sound. It’s too bad the venue was so tough on video.

Rip to my 3 monarch caterpillars. I spent the hour after I found these guys like a caterpillar John Wick with hornet spray taking down all I could see.

I posted a bit ago about getting my first monarch caterpillar 6 years after planting milkweed but he’s in a horrible spot and need advice. He will die where he is at.

This morning we moved a couch out to the alley and while handling it, noticed we set it on top of a milkweed plant and smashed it. We pulled it off and propped up the plant and saw this guy. My first on this property ever. But if I had to pick the worst and most dangerous spot on the property, or the one place I wouldn’t want him, that’s where he’s at. Right next to the trash cans and a parking space. He’s an isolated milkweed plant looking like a bright white meal on a dark leaf for the hundreds of birds that hang out in my lilac bush and the grapevines on my fence.

He will get smashed by the trash guys Thursday.
It turns out all the milkweed in my yard is different from the milkweed in my alley which is just leftover from a garden I turned into a parking space. The red stemmed stuff is what he’s on. It’s soft and spongey where the stuff in my yard is more green and waxy.

There are 3 other of the same milkweed plants nearby and one has been munched on pretty good with no signs of a cat so I suspect a bird already got one. All are in a bad spot. And those are the only of this kind on my property.

So far, I caged the plant he’s on but he’s almost out of leaves to munch on or hide under between the chomping and us breaking off a couple leaves with the couch. Will he roam out of the cage?

I’m thinking I’ll transplant a plant inside my yard but it will sag after the transplant and take 3 days to reestablish roots. Trash guys come Thursday. But he is a sitting duck for predators right now. What can I do?

*Pics of him and his cat poop I didn’t know would be that big.
*Pics of the two types of milkweed leaves in my yard.
*Pic of his environment by the trash. He is the red circle. The other milkweed are the yellow circles.
*Pic of him sunning on his leaf looking like a meal being the brightest thing in 20 sq feet.
* pic of his cage.

A friend in a local Facebook group commented on a post of a man running for state senator. She said she and her friend were groomed and sexually assaulted and raped by this guy. I told her she needs to go public with this. She is in my DMs asking how she can safely do this.

Beyond the political campaign, this man made national news this week for a pro law enforcement motion he made. I don't want to go into too much detail because it's not my story to tell and her accusation is going to make the news too. But I'm a man with no experience in sexual assault. Because of the ongoing law enforcement issue in my city and this man’s relationship with them, I don’t feel like the cops are where she should start. This is something the police and the public should be made aware of. Should she start with media? Should she speak to a lawyer? Maybe with a victims advocacy group?

America First has a long history in the U.S. and it’s not a good one. AF has been the official slogan of the kkk for 130 years. The drawings here are war posters done by Dr Suess while working for the U.S. Army during WW2.

School shooting survivor Shelisa Demuth criticizes her mom, Minnesota House Speaker, Lisa Demuth, for deferring a vote on the MN gun control bill. She says this will be her mother’s legacy.

“[I]magine being the first House Speaker in state history who is also the mother of two school shooting victims and conveniently deferring a gun control bill to the next legislative session,”

The ink is dry and raised but spread if I try to chip it off. I don’t want to start wiping because it will color my whole seat if I don’t have a good method to remove it. Looking for advice please.
