Teriberka, Russia — near Norway border, 2021
It was that spring time when you do not have polar night anymore, but sun not yet visible. We’ve drove there from Khibins Mountains when the weather forecast showed 5+ days no snow window.
Reaching the place, we’ve dropped the car and walked around the coastline ~30km in three days.
Oh, distinctly I remember, how my friend Ivan woke up the last day with: “we gotta get back” (that but more poetic :). That surprised me as the snowfall was only just beginning, so the roads were still clear. Turns out they were not.
We’ve made next 30km by car in 8h. Hopefully we were not alone on the road, it was 5h of pushing and pulling. Then road clearing-rescue machine reached our convoy.. and got stuck as well. But not for long. So we made the rest of the way almost chill.
Love that place, we have then drove back to St. Petersburg through 3 seas in 24h: Northern, White and Baltic seas.
