Daily Song #126: Haunted

Haunted… god where to sound with this song? Probably one of the unique song of Taylor’s discography production wise, this is definitely her most rockish song. Taking elements from orchestral music, goth rock and arena rock, Haunted sounds like a song that Paramore, Evanescence or even Nightwish could release. I really wish this song got a music video cause the atmosphere of this song transports you into a world where everything felt dark and depressed but in a beautiful way.

I do have to admit while I do like the production (at least in the OG version. The TV production kinda sucks) the lyrics are kinda basic for a Taylor Swift song especially for a Speak Now era Taylor song. However I think the lyrics “I thought I had you figured out/Something's gone terribly wrong/You're all I wanted” does pack a punch.

Some people theorize that this song was written for Twilight and while I don’t believe that theory I could totally see it lmao.

What do you think of this song? Do you prefer the TV or OG? And do you think Taylor should make an entire album filled with songs like this?

Rating: 9/10

Taylor’s 2026 Looks as of May 17th

What do you think of her looks so far? Do you think she could be hinting something and what could she possibly be hinting?

I personally love how chic all these looks are

11 years ago Taylor released Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar) as a single

On May 17, 2015 Taylor released Bad Blood, the fourth single off of the iconic 1989, and probably one of the most divisive songs in Taylor’s discography. It definitely is one of Taylor’s pettiest songs and a lot of people think that the lyrics are weak. Others love the bad girl energy and how it is a precursor to Reputation. Even the music video is divisive as some love the celebrity cameos and the badass vibes while others think that it is overblown.

I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of the song but I rewatched the music video and while I do agree that it isn’t as good as some of the other 1989 music videos I found it to be a nostalgic mid 2010s throwback. The music video was strongly connected with Taylor’s “girl squad” (a topic that deserves it own post) and while that does sour the music video for some I find it kind of iconic that Zendaya, Gigi Hadid and Hayley Williams were all in a Taylor MV. As a kid I loved watching this MV and pretending I was Taylor and my sister was Selena so maybe I have some bias haha.

I don’t mind Taylor writing petty lyrics but I don’t really think this has her best writing even compare to other songs from 1989. “Now we got problems/And I don't think we can solve 'em/You made a really deep cut” just doesn’t have the same punch as “When the butterflies turned to dust that covered my whole room” or even “Heartbreak is the national anthem/We sing it proudly”

But what do you think of the song? Do you prefer the album track or the single version with Kendrick rapping? Do you think Kendrick and Taylor should collab again? And what do you think of the music video?

What other lyrics fit this theme of Taylor wanting someone who sees her as an equal?

Credit to @drewgirlevil for this idea and for their tweet.

Taylor in New York with Ashley Avignone (May 12, 2026)

So many new looks lately :0 anyway I love this outfit even if it isn’t my favorite look from her. It’s very chic and preppy and I love the coral lipstick. I’m just someone who prefers a bit of colors over plain white 😅 still really cute outfit!

What is it with people pretending that Taylor is trying to make her self seem like a “little girl”

I saw this thumbnail and saw this Vogue article title and I just don’t think that this is an actual problem that Taylor is going through? Are people just inventing new problems because Taylor’s last album was very much not her trying to “act like a baby”

The photoshoot for Showgirl was sexy but definitely in a mature way. The outfit she is wearing recently has nothing to do with “baby doll fashion”. The songs on her last album were about mature topics. Whether you think the songs were handle maturely or not that’s a different topic but songs like The Fate Of Ophelia and Honey is about adult love, Ruin The Friendship is about grief, Wood is a mixture of sex and superstition, and Eldest Daughter is literally about how much the internet sucks (okay it’s more then that but I don’t think someone who is “stuck in arrested development” would even have a song like Eldest Daughter even if i don’t like that song)

Taylor is a grown woman and she presents herself as a grown woman. I don’t know where this discussion is coming from?

Blake's lawyer Michael Gottlieb confirms Wayfarer sent process server to TS as PR distraction

Gottlieb confirms Taylor Swift was just used as a distraction by Freedman. We all knew it. A sad and obvious tactic which so many fell for.

Songs from artist that doesn't sound like the rest of their discography?

I thought this was an interesting discussion idea.

What are some songs that doesn't sound like the rest of the artists discography. I picked these songs for my example:

Temporary Secretary by Paul McCartney: I got inspired to make this post cause I saw someone in the Beatles circlejerk saying that this song sounded like a Talking Head song and people were unironically agreeing. I know a lot of people don’t like this song but I personally like it for its uniqueness.

Don’t Hurt Yourself by Beyoncé (ft. Jack White): This song takes heavy influences from hard rock and psychedelic rock, genres that Beyoncé never did before and unless Act III is an acid rock record she hasn’t done anything like this since. Not to mention the Jack White feature.

Haunted by Taylor Swift: The Speak Now album has a lot of rock influences on some of the songs but those songs are still mostly pop punk or county rock. Haunted is the only one which I would say is pure rock and the production could easily be in an Evanescence or Nightwish song.

My Song 5 by HAIM: The production on this one doesn’t sound like most HAIM songs and it is very grungy.

Put It To Rest by Carly Rae Jepsen: This is probably the most experimental song in Carly’s discography, especially the build up to the chorus. Kollage has a similar vibe but I still think the production of Kollage isn’t as experimental as Put It To Rest (even though I like Kollage more). It isn’t synth pop or disco like most of her songs from E•MO•TION to The Loveliest Time.

What are some examples you would include?

(Also as a sidenote artist can have multiple songs that doesn't sound like the rest of their discography.

For example I included Don’t Hurt Yourself by Bey but she also has That's Why You're Beautiful which has a production that sounds like a midwestern emo song even though it was in the same album as Halo and Single Ladies)

Taylor in London Today (with Travis)

What do you guys think about the outfit? I personally think it looks great but I think it would look better with a nude or dusty rose lipstick

Hey everyone! I recently did a “Outfits I Think Zara Larsson can pull off” thread and I decided to make a post for other pop girlies, first starting with Olivia cause I been streaming Drop Dead nonstop.

Most of these dresses feel very Sour/Guts era to me but I wanted to include some that I feel like fits the aesthetic of her new album so far (such as number 2)

Feel free to show your own pics!

Sorry if this is the wrong flair but I had a Pinterest board called “Zara Larsson Should Wear This” plus reblog some outfits on Tumblr that i thought Zara could pull off so I wanted to make this Reddit post showcasing some of the outfits I think Zara can pull off; especially outfits that give me the vibe of her recent album.

Edit: I just realize that someone did a post like this a few hours ago 🥲 hopefully you guys like my post as well though
