I think this should be a series
I was thinking about how the movie could have better pacing, and after chatting with a few Redditors, I think that this should be a series. Not like a full season type show, but like 10-11 episodes. That way, it can make more room for character development and more screen time for certain characters while also allowing more worldbuilding. What do you think?
Why is this hard?
22M. Sometimes, I struggle with low self-esteem, and it’s not entirely my fault. I’m autistic and I’m Black. I work a dead-end job at Amazon, struggling to get my film career started, and sometimes, it feels like a toxic environment. I still live at home with my somewhat critical but loving Sagittarius single mother who works a lot of jobs because my dad doesn’t help us. She says that I need to have a different relationship with him that she does with him, but I’m getting off track here. My biggest concern is my own Blackness. I’ve never had any of the typical Black men’s habits, speech patterns, or mannerisms like arguing with Mom, sneaking out, hitting on females, and referring to them as “bitches”, starting fights, etc. I don’t use slang at all like “a’ight,” “boy,” “dope,” or any of those. My Mom wants me to connect with other Black people, but I’ve never fit in with them. The only way I know these traits of a Black person is because I see them in my own family.
Dating is also a hard thing because I don’t understand the mannerisms of women when they are asked out by Black men. Plus, when we get into a relationship, women get fuzzy and complain about almost every freaking thing. They always want attention, to be in control, and want to be right. Those are the relationships within my family that I’ve seen. No woman would ever want to spend their time with a geek like me. Love’s not easy for the men in my family and most times, it’s the woman’s fault, not ours.
I’m different, like I’m Aang from Avatar: the Last Airbender. I’m a bit curious about the world and have principles that I strongly believe, but I feel like I live in a world that’s falling apart. What should I do?
They mentioned Dog with a blog! Wonder if they’ll do any other forgotten Disney shows.
GTA-like worldbuilding
Recently, I’ve been playing GTA 5 on Xbox One (since I don’t have money to get GTA Online) and I was fascinated by all the worldbuilding stuff they put in that game. It’s like a whole different universe with their own restaurants, stores, tv channels, radio stations, gas stations, products, etc.
I can’t imagine how long they must’ve spent on just the world building for that game!
Stadiums and states
I know this is a fictional universe, but something is still baffling me. Where exactly is every city? I have a few ideas on where they can be:
Vineland: Possibly Queens or the Bronx, New York
Lava Coast: California or Hawaii (since concept art shows it’s supposed to be a tropical paradise)
Sunken City: Las Vegas
Arctic City: Alaska (obviously)
Peak City: Colorado
Sandstorm Place: IDK
Echo Gorge: Arizona (possibly)
Driftwood Bay: Possibly Louisiana
These are a few ideas, but I want to hear from you.
Madagascar 2: Volcano rave body paint
I’ve watched the second movie many times, and I noticed that during the volcano scene, nearly every animal dancing on the stands is covered in white ceremonial body paint. The giraffes, elephants, hippos, lions, and a bunch of background animals. I always thought it looked cool, but I don’t think the movie ever explains it, especially since the water hole is all dried up.
Was this supposed to be part of some traditional ritual the animals had been doing for generations? Maybe inspired by real ceremonial body paint? Or was it just DreamWorks adding visual flair to make the scene stand out?
Has anyone else ever wondered about this? The amount of detail they put into it is kind of impressive.

Expanding Lava Coast
If the Magmas were treated like real dominant villains, we would need to see more of their home city. We’ve already seen the Inferno, the gym (or Mane’s personal gym, I don’t know), and the Barbershop, but what other places could we see in Lava Coast?
I would suggest seeing Mane’s penthouse/mansion and maybe a restaurant similar to Whisker’s but with a more evil vibe. I want to hear what you think. What other places would you want to see in Lava Coast?

reddit.comScrew life and screw me!
22M who identifies as autistic and Black/African American. My life for a whole damn year had been inherently challenging. This weekend alone really made me want to end it all.
Friday morning, I woke up to my brother already at work and my mom chiding me about my film career. She suggested I do micro dramas, but I suggested my friend could be in it, but she declined, saying I needed good actors. Before I went out, I was told to wash the dishes. I remembered my car was behind hers, so I decided to go and move it quickly. Then, she claimed I was too slow with the dishes, which hurt because I’m autistic. I was put in a rage-full state, not caring how aggressive I was. The worst part was when I went to get my emissions test because of a stupid tag left by Carvana!
Today was even worse. When I went with her to get the tag taken off at Midas, we were sent to another emissions place and we couldn’t do it there because thanks to the first failed test, the car was officially locked. I tried being funny when my mom told me not to talk while in there and when we drove back, I still played the joke. But instead of laughing, she scolded me by saying that I’m not being logical, which again hurt me.
I’m the oldest and I feel she puts the most pressure and expectations onto me because I’m supposed to be “the chosen one” or some shit. I’ve been at home for a year trying to find some way to achieve my dreams while working a shitty job, but all she sees is a lazy man (guess she’s still deeply traumatized by the shit my dad did).
I’ve had a terrible week, and so has my mom. She was coming down with a sickness and was cranky and yell-bound. I understand she’s a single parent because my dad doesn’t help, but I feel like she’s taking all her negative energy and bad mood shit out on us because to her, we’re so controllable! Can’t wait to see how this shit story is gonna end.
What’s playing at the theater in my mall world.
Lots of summer blockbusters playing at my theater. Which one are you going to see?
Stuck in career crisis mode
Hey guys, I really need advice on something.
For a year, I’ve struggled with my filmmaking career. Despite attending film school at ASU, it was unfulfilling. In my junior year, I had a terrible professor who nearly made me suicidal. I received a D and later a C in that class. In my senior year, I didn’t even work on a film, just two episodes of a potential TV show that I now find difficult to write.
The film was rewritten multiple times, and finding collaborators was challenging. I shot it for a day in spring, but it wasn’t a serious feature. After graduation, the editor who agreed to the project left. Finding a Fiverr editor was difficult due to financial constraints and the editor’s incompetence. It’s been a year since I finished shooting the movie, and it’s still unedited.
I tried writing a treatment for a real feature, but got stuck. I’m starting to doubt my career choice and don’t know what else to do. If I can’t make it as a filmmaker, then I don’t have a point to living. This has been my dream since I was a little boy growing up with divorced parents with nothing but an old camcorder, my toys, and iMovie to edit. Now as an adult, everything is more complex and nothing is free anymore. What should I do?
Why does the world shit on me?
I’ve got a pile of issues in my life right now. Let’s start with the most important thing to note: I’m Black, I’m autistic, and I live with a single mother and a careless younger, adult-but-still-a-teen brother who seems to be better at being a human being than I am. Second thing: I hate adulthood!
This isn’t how I imagined adulthood would go for me. A year after college, nothing’s changed. I still live at home with my crazy family, work a grueling warehouse job, which my mom still wishes I didn’t get because she wants me to work film jobs, which are hard to get right now, and haven’t advanced my filmmaking, although I try to, but my mom just brushes it off like it’s not enough in her eyes. Saving money is hard because of groceries for the house, car payments, and other expenses. I can’t open a high-yield savings account due to ID issues. I barely have money for myself. I try to find other ways to make a little extra cash like finding valuable old toys to playing the lottery (with a small budget) to trying to use AI to open up new revenue streams for me.
I’m a curious person who is still figuring out what the world and life is all about. I want to have a big life, but everything feels so limited. Everything that I used to find joy and happiness suddenly doesn’t make me feel anything anymore. Was Inside Out 2 right? Is this what happens when you grow up, you feel less joy or anything?
Uninvited guests (rough cut)
This is a rough cut of my very first film. The film follows two college students whose house party is interrupted by a couple of ghosts. It was meant to be a school project. Then I would do more serious works, but then things happened and so that was that. This is the first real film I have ever worked on and I know I need to have it edited a whole lot more. Anyways, here’s the rough cut. Enjoy!
I hate adulthood!
This is not how I imagined my adulthood was going to be. It’s been a year since I graduated from college, and so far, nothing has really changed. I still live at home, I work a grueling job at a warehouse, and I haven’t gone far with my filmmaking stuff. When I try to save money, it always ends up going because of groceries for Mom, my car payment, and other stuff. I can’t really open up a high-yield savings account because of ID troubles. I always have little to spend on myself. I try playing the lottery only on weekends when I don’t have any plans, other than work. I’ve tried cracking the code to winning, but nothing works.
Sometimes, I watch cartoons to relive my childhood (aka the only time I was truly free). I don’t really have a love life or try to talk about any sexual type of things. I dream of a life where I can fulfill my dream and live a life of luxury.

I know it looks like Diego, but I did put a reference photo of Soto in the chat as I made this.
