Parent's keeping receipts for tax purposes?

Nung mga bata pa kami (until HS and college), when we have eat out in restaurants, our parents will always ask and keep the receipt. I thought it is for just in case they need to come back to the resto in case something happens.

But they say it is for "tax purposes." Minsan kahit grocery receipts nakatago. I think I get it now being an adult na but to all bookkeepers and accountants out there can you please enlighten me because I don't think it is a reimbursement. Sorry if it's a stupid question I am just genuinely curious.

Many thanks!

39 year old begginer

Hi everyone!

My wife got me a guitar (just a basic) and I'm trying to learn to play it. I wasn't able to learn back when I was a kid because I wasn't very confident with myself especially when making mistakes.

But now I think I am more confident (sort of) with my mistakes and will try my best to learn and play music for my family.

Best of luck to everyone here trying to learn and those teaching!

Edit: sorry typo on title! *Beginner

We were buying ice cream in Australia and...

One flavor was UBE. We were excited and wanted some nostalgic memories and local cravings activated. I was at the counter and asked for the UBE flavor.

The server then said, "sorry do you want the YOO-BEY flavor one?" I was a bit surprised how she pronounced and said back "yes the UBE flavor" one.

I didn't make a big deal out of it but it was funny.

World Cup plus local sports

Hi mods! Let me know if this post is okay.

Because FIFA and FIBA World Cup are playing, what are your experience in watching\supporting the national team or local sporting events?

Like here in Australia, we all support the Socceroos at World Cup plus go to watch parties. There is also AFL/NRL (Australian football or footie) then there is also Cricket.

Natuwa ako sa local support for teams lalo na for footie. There are always fans cheering and drinking at games plus there will be bus shuttle service at the start and end of the games.

I had to learn the sport, local team, and rules of the game para lang makasama sa mga kwentuhan ng mga colleagues ko. I had to be honest na di ko alam yung sport and they were shocked. lol

Cricket is a bit hard for me to get into sabi ko but local footie is better. There is also Formula 1, winter sports, swimming, etc.

Edit: Just to add, Melbourne Cup was also an experience. The race that stops the Nation!

What are your thoughts?

Tapos sa isang comment sa post niya nag pasalamat sya sa mga inutangan niya pang show money.

Nostalgic memories from Vanguard Bandits - PS1

A bit of nostalgia. Mods, let me know if this post belongs here.

Currently playing Vanguard Bandits on emulator.

Love this game when I first played it on the original PS1 and now relieving memories of good old times.

Bata pa ang internet. Wala pa smart phones, CRT ang mga TV, antenna, cable, VHS, CD player pa ang entertainment sa TV. Physical CDs pa ang games at di pa uso ang pay to win/freemium.

Enjoyed playing it with my brother and sister and if just triggered good old memories of simple days.

Any game like this for you guys? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Why international student visa holders, particularly those taking early childhood education, go to designated regional area (like Mackay, Townsville) even though they are not yet on finished?

As the title says, please enlightened me because I really do not know why. We noticed some of our international student friends are moving to designated regional areas to continue their studies. They are enrolled and also working in Brisbane area.

They are not yet on their 485 but their school said they are helping them in going to regional area to finish their studies. Imagine Education is the provider if that helps.

Sorry if this question doesn't belong here. It's just for my own curiosity.

What is the most embarrassing thing a politician has done in your country?

Recently for the Philippines, Senator Dela Rosa (aka Bato) has caught the attention of everyone with his running video. He is trying to escape prosecution for being involve with former president Duterte in their extra judicial killings of allegedly drug addicts.

And now this video of him running and stumbling on the stairwell is going across the social media and news outlets.

Would like to know if there are any embarrassing moments has done in your country? Could be funny, awkward or just humiliating to them or the nation itself.

Nearly ran into the web of this guy on our evening run. Google says it's a Garden Orb Weaver but would like to confirm with the experts.

Looks like there will be less trains l, and i would imagine, those that are running will be 3 Car services.

Will there be more buses or will the roads be busier as people are forced to drive.
