Im looking for a recommendation for a curly hair cut for long hair (hair is down to my low back). Im hoping someone can educate me on how to style my hair and help me restore my waves/curls as theyre currently being weighed down by my length. Im leaving the country in next week so unfortunately a lot of the places ive looked at are booked and cant spend more than $180 with tip.

Husband is planning on putting his 2 week notice tomorrow. He has 9 days of PTO left. Does anyone know if he can have his last day physical day be the 28th of August and then use his 9 days of PTO after? Or will he get paid out his PTO?

His manager has been treating the techs like crap so hes not a good person to ask before knowing more details. Hes also planning on calling HR tomorrow.

Have a trip planned in Sept. Im a plus size woman US size 18/20 and a lil nervous about traveling now. Watched a few videos of women complaining they were very uncomfortable in Japan due to their size. I dont plan on doing any rides and have accepted that I wont find many clothes there. I have good walking shoes and do 10-15k steps a day currently so not worried about the walking.

Would love to hear experiences from someone similar sized and whos traveled recently.

Booked at airbnb in Texas with my husband and parents to visit my husband's family and celebrate my birthday. We booked a airbnb that had central AC. When we checked in the airbnb was steaming hot. Checked the thermostat and it was reading 82 degrees. We put it lower and crashed in bed after a long flight. Woke up drenched in sweat. Checked on the AC and it was reading 87. Reached out to the host who helped me troubleshoot to no avail. They said they'd have a hvac person come check later that evening. We spent longer than we planned out of the home to give the hvac/host enough time to resolve the issue. Came back to a hot home. We messaged the host who said that the hvac person could not offer a permanent fix but would come take a look at it again in the next evening. I asked what the options were or solutions offered and they stated to look for another place and get a refund.

We are particularly uncomfortable due to the heat and it doesn't help that im newly pregnant. We found another airbnb that we were going to book while on the phone with airbnb support. They would allow us to check in after midnight. Airbnb support said we'd get offered credits/gift card as a return so we waited until that was processed to book the new location. After 25 min on the phone support told is that we would not be getting credits instead the money was going back to our card. We decided to go ahead and book the other airbnb. We communicated with host #2 the whole time. When we went to book it said the dates were no longer available. She said it was a weird error and would fix it. After 20 or so minutes I reached out again for her to tell us that someone else booked the dates on a different platform and it was no longer available.

We again went hunting for another airbnb, explained our issue, and proceeded with the booking. Explained that the heat at other airbnb was miserable. Our 3nd host assured as there would be multiple fans and the AC was revenrly checked. He would turn it on for us prior to our arrival. We arrived to the 2nd airbnb and it was 85 degrees. Tried to be patient as we figured the host was doing as a favor and the AC was not likely on long prior to our arrival. After 30 min no change in heat. Messaged the 2nd host and they said sometimes it takes 2-3 hours for the house to cool down. We are now 2 hours in to this 2nd stay and its 83 degrees. Ive had to sit in our car rental with the AC on.

Considering getting another airbnb vs paying the uncharge to get hotel rooms. World cup games are currently being played here so everything has been booked and double/triple as expensive.

Really needed to vent about this issue.

My husband currently works at crown as a mechanic and makes $32 an hour. Hes worked for crown for nearly 3 years and started at $26. He has 10+ years of experience, holds his own accounts, and is requested by multiple customers because of his quality work. He's considering leaving as a mechanic to work in sales within crown but not sure of how much to expect money wise as he was told he will get $22 an hour base with incentives. Anyone have any experience in changing roles that would be open to sharing their take home pay?

My sister has an elderly dog who has recently stopped eating and drinking and looks like hes in poor health. Shes living paycheck to paycheck right now and is looking for euthanasia options that may be more affordable. We reached out to a few vets and theyre quoting us $700+ which is more than she can afford and more than I can help her with. The Humane Society has no openings for several weeks.

I feel incredibly guilty even writing this. I used to have DACA, applied as soon as it came out. I had DACA continuously until I got married. Was able to obtain residency in 2025. I feel absolutely sick to read everyone's post about their DACA expiring and losing their jobs. My DACA lapsed in 2018 and I went into a deep depressive episode.

Our close friend is going to lose his job in June because his DACA is lapsing and will be losing all his benefits. Trying to figure out how to support. We offered him money and hes a prideful person and said no thank you. Should we send some money anonymously? Anyway I can support others in this sub? Im here for yall. Praying for yall. Hoping that everyone's approvals come ASAP.

Both of my toe nails split right down the middle horizontally about 50% of the nail is split. I currently have super grown out gel on them and was going to get a pedicure next month.

I don't feel like my shoes are tight at all. I came back from a trip where I was doing 20k steps a day so not sure if it was related to that? Not sure if i should just clip the nail or go to the salon and have then try to put some glue on it?

This trip bringing my parents and want to give them a fun 5 days. Will be stopping at Bucees, arboretum, Terry blacks or panther city bbq, and doing a medieval times dinner. Traveling to Japan in September and was really hoping to catch a sumo tournament. Signed up for the sale notification on buysumotickets.com

Got this email today:

"Sumo can no longer even come close to meeting the demand for tickets, and the public ticket sales system has now completely broken down in Tokyo. Almost no tickets at all will be made available in public sales for September."

Is there anyway you can purchase tickets day of the tournament? Or should I accept were not going to see sumo?

Originally had a flight leaving at 848pm 5/3 for my husband and I. A email was sent noting flight was rescheduled two hours earlier. This email unfortunately went to spam and was not reviewed. I was in a bad service area during our trip and was unable to check in until day off. Realized we could not make the new flight time back we were rebooked to a new flight the next day by an in person agent at the airport and given new boarding passes.

The next day we show up early and noticed one of our boarding passes did not have a seat assignment but one was posted on the screen. As soon as the agent came, I inquired about the possibility to sit together. She said we could and to come back in a few minutes. When we came back, she gave us new boarding passes and just needed my husband's ID. When my husband gave the ID she took both of our IDs and boarding passes and said there was an error. We asked what type of error and she would not respond. The flight began boarding and I asked if this was something that could be fixed quickly and she said yes. She called a supervisor to help with the error. At the same time, a supervisor came in person and she told him he wasn't needed anymore. I asked again if we were going to be able to make our flight and she assured us both. I told the agent checking passes that we were actively working with another agent and she also assured us that we had plenty of time and the plane wouldn't leave. The final boarding was called and I was starting to get nervous and the manager came back again. He asked her what the issue was and she didnt respond. He said that he had to close the flight and we had to get rebooked to the next flight (6 hours later). I was shocked. I asked what happened and why we weren't able to board and the agent left in a rush and told us to work it out with the supervisor. The supervisor told us she made an error and didnt have enough time to fix it before the plane left. He would rebook us to "good seats" on the next flight. I started crying out of frustration asking what happened. He kept saying he wasnt sure but the experienced agent we were working with did not resolve the issue in a timely manner. He would have to be rebook us and gave us a $50 discount for a future flight.

I called to complain and currently on a 2 hour hold. Any advice?
