Me and a friend have been listening to a lot of GY!BE recently and we've been talking about the band a lot too and we are both curious as to where the name for the song/section ''She Dreamt She Was a Bulldozer, She Dreamt She Was Alone in an Empty Field'' comes from. My friend theorises that it might be about Efrim's dog but I'm unsure so I thought I'd ask here.

My mother quit her job recently
last year she was the employee of the year and now she’s not working there anymore,
she use to come home every day exhausted, she’d either spend hours sleeping on the sofa or she’d be slaving away at her computer while balancing everything else that ran this house
and I tried my best to ease the burdens of the every day but life wore her down and down,
and now she’s unemployed so she’s taken up to selling all the bits and bobs the family accrued over the years and started selling them,
bit by bit she’s been selling her mothers porcelain collection, for years it use to be this centre piece in my grandparent’s kitchen,
it stood untouched for years in a cabinet with glass doors flaunting its clean beauty at every soul that ever walked in, and if you ever spent any time in there you’d usually get bored and look at all that she had on display, all of it Brambly edge,
all sorts of creatures, bunnies, mice, birds and such, living a beautiful life, living in trees, forests and fields, seeing all the seasons as they passed and some of the critters even got married too but now it’s all being sold,
and even if it’s a nice price and even if we have no space and even if we have to, I still wish we didn’t,
those plates remind me,
they remind me of a happy time when both of my grandparents were in this world and every summer I’d help my grandfather in his garden but now those days are long gone,
grandma fell first, then grandad and now the house is full of faces I don’t know and the garden has remained lifeless ever since my grandfathers passing,
but even though these days are long behind me,
I hope the next family that owns our porcelain makes as many memories as our family did,
so I say goodbye to the house and to grandma and grandpa and to those plates imbued with all of our memories.

I'm close to the end of The Ticket That Exploded and so I've just ordered myself 2 copies of The Nova Express, I've ordered myself the 1969 printing of the book and the modern restored text version and I decided I'd come on here and ask which edition you guys prefer and what changes to the text should I look out for between my 2 copies?

Hey yall, I'm new to The Residents and I'm just curious to know what albums, singles & EPs the band recorded before Meet The Residents. I want to check out most if not all of their earliest stuff so please throw all of their material from that era at me, I know of The Warner Bros Album and Santa Dog so far and that's it. Does anyone know any books that help with learning how to play modal jazz on the alto saxophone, I've looked a bit but I don't really know what books I should be buying and so I thought I'd ask here.

So last night I had this dream where I watched myself die and its really thrown me through a loop and I feel weird and I just kind of want some knowledge about, something that'll make me feel comfortable again.

So I watched myself die in this dream as I just said, I was laid on a bed in an empty and bland house that must've been a few hundred years old, it was never explicitly said but it seemed that I had been stabbed in the stomach and I was bleeding out. There was a nice woman in the house and her husband was there too and he just was looking at me without really saying anything. The woman tried to treat my wounds for a while but she couldn't save me. When it became apparent that I was going to die the man who had been very apathetic to my current state came over to me with a few dollar bills in his hand and gave them to his wife without breaking eye contact with me, his wife/the lady put the money away and then the man ruffled in his pockets for a moment and produced a few coins and laid them upon my stomach around where I had been stabbed and then slowly I began to travel? I'm not really sure how to put it but really this was me really dying in the dream, I was moving and watching myself and the lady and man slowly faded away and all that was left was myself and like paint/art, I was phasing and morphing into different bodies and changing and I was going through all these artistic styles while I was like looking at myself in a way, at one moment I was abstract expressionism, then cubism and at the end I was like a blank piece of white paper with all these lines making up my body and in a way it felt fiery, like a last breath? I suppose? before the lines felt weak and I began to fade, that's when everything went black and I awoke.

The first thing I did when I woke up was cry actually, idk why but that dream has really messed me up and I hope someone can help me make sense of it all, thank you.

edit: I'd just like to add that I was never scared about the fact I was going to die, this didn't feel like a nightmare and I didn't fear what was coming, if anything this dream was very gently and felt natural to me. I was very embracing of my death in this.

I recently acquired an old 1962 copy of Naked Lunch and to be honest I prefer it over the restored text version we have now (I think the pacing of it all is a lot better) and I also really like the second edition version of The Soft Machine and I was just wondering if anyone else has preferences and if so, why do you prefer those editions over other ones?

This is my first solo album of all harsh noise material made with just my saxophone and I'm looking for feedback and opinions and I hope people in the noise community like it.
