Anxiety got worse. I need an advice to handle it

Disclaimer: This is a long vent, and I am typing this while experiencing a severe anxiety attack. If you do not feel interested or comfortable reading it, please feel no pressure to do so. Thank you. I am not sure if I have anything else to add for now, but if I do, I will post an update later.

(If it's my fault, I apologize.)

I (20 F) am currently in my 5th semester of college.

To make a long story short, I’m just a kid who isn't good at communicating, an introvert, and a homebody. I never had an issue being alone, but I never thought about making friends until I realized just how lonely I was. My family is busy with work and other things, so I feel really alone. I never realized that I was just being used and a people-pleaser throughout elementary, middle, and high school (I went to school in a small village where the people around were mostly the same). So, I can say I don't have any true friends. I just realized they only asked me for money (my family is somewhat well-off) and only reached out when they needed help. But whenever I was the one who needed help, no one was there. In fact, even in group projects, they would just dump the hard parts on me. To be honest, I don't mind helping people—I like seeing others happy—but sometimes seeing how they treated me back made me feel dumb and heartbroken.

In high school, I actually found a best friend, but she got busy after joining the student council and started hanging out with other council members. We still hung out sometimes, but whenever we met up, I could sense she was in a bad mood, whether from student council stress or something else. It made me sad because I was genuinely happy to see her. Oh, and I was still a people-pleaser back then. One day, people started spreading bad rumors about me. I felt so lonely, deeply down, and didn't even want to go to school anymore. Even my best friend sided with them, don't trust me, and randomly texting me to say hurtful things. My mental health really took a turn for the worse at that point.

Long story short, when I got to college, I stopped trying to find friends. I just let things flow and tried to remain friendly, but yeah... still a people-pleaser because I was completely alone, I was terrified of having no one. By the way, for college, I moved to the city, far away from my family. So I live alone.

I can say the people around me are nice, and I considered everyone my friend. That was until one day, a group of friends invited me to play tennis together. They also invited another person who didn't have a friend group, just like me—let’s call her B. The difference between me and B is that B is extremely extroverted and very outgoing. Without me even realizing it, I was added to their friend group, and B was added as well. We became a group of friends since then, but to be honest, I didn't really want to be in a friend group—especially because this group was full of (sorry to say) slightly toxic people who were lazy about college. I just wanted us to be casual friends and nothing more, but because I felt bad asking to leave, I just tried to adapt. I admit they were fun people to hang out with, but besides that, I didn't really think they had many good qualities (honestly, they seemed like a bad influence, and even some of my other college classmates said so).

B and I actually became close after that. When our group members were busy skipping class and ignoring assignments to go hangout, the two of us still did our work and decided not to join them. As people, we both actually liked to gossip about others. Maybe it was partly my fault too, because I talked trash about our friend group to B. We often vented and gossiped with each other, and B always agreed with whatever I said, sometimes she said she feels the same. I talked about other people too, outside the friend group, but I said those bad things as an emotional release after everything they had done to me. You could say people in college were still treating me the same way people back in school did—just using me and sometimes of them actually acting like jerks—so I only vented out of frustration and anger. I don't even remember what I said. I don't really think its that important to me to remember.

But one day, I felt like people were ignoring me. Then someone told me that B had actually been telling peoples what I said to her, and my friend group kicked me out. In a way, maybe this was a good thing because I always felt leaving the group was for the best anyway. But at the same time, my anxiety got worse and I was heartbroken. No matter how much I had been used or talked about behind my back, I never once thought about ostracizing anyone who did that to me. So honestly, it felt unfair... why would they do this to me? At the same time, I felt genuinely guilty because I only talked bad to release my emotions; I never intended for those words to reach them.

The worst part is that B actually twisted some of my words, making everything even worse. She didn't just tell my friend group—she told other people too, and maybe she even told people what I said about them (I'm not entirely sure about this one, but it makes me feel anxious every time I go to college because I don't know who she talked to). I've only been back to college for two days and I truly can't handle it... I don't know what to do. I've already seen a psychologist before for a month and actually felt a bit better, but going back to campus triggers intense anxiety attacks.

I go to college, but sometimes I just end up standing alone, not talking to anyone anymore. I really don't know if I'll be able to make it through 3 more semesters. Last couple of semester, I actually joined committee activities to expand my network, but now I just head straight back home to play games or do whatever I used to do. I stop join them. My dorm and my campus are only 5 minutes apart, but for some reason, I always arrive a few minutes early and just stand there alone... looking like a pathetic person. Maybe I should just show up right before class starts so I don't have to wait around like that (especially since the classroom is sometimes still being used by another class).

I want to ask for advice—what should I do in this situation that is triggering such severe anxiety for me?

Sometimes I don’t know how to manage my time, and I’m afraid I’ll lose my spark for play the game

In real life, I’m extremely busy, which leads to burnout. I play Harvest Moon to unwind, but sometimes the game itself causes burnout too—especially when it demands a lot of grind. So, I’ll switch to a different Harvest Moon title, but I end up picking the wrong one again—it turns out to be just as hard, and I burn out all over again. Honestly, at this point, I think the root cause is my real-life situation, and play games isn't really helping.

Sometimes I just abandon these games for a while and only come back when I’m in the mood, bouncing between both. But I’m terrified of losing interest entirely because of these long breaks. Maybe for some people, it’s more fun to play through a game in one sitting without huge gaps like this. I know replaying is an option, but my goal is to play through most Harvest Moon games. I don't want a massive backlog slowing me down, especially if it means restarting a game from scratch—my time in real life is already so limited, and I don't want to waste it.

Plus, some of these games are really tough to beat, and after coming this far, restarting feels like a total waste.

Note: Honestly, it’s nothing too serious, just a little vent. Have you guys ever felt like this? What are you gonna do with that?

RF: Tides of Destiny, need help for Water Shrine

I am sorry for reposting, I am really stuck with this so I need more help

How am I supposed to fight this Oblitergator (or whatever it's called) in the Water Shrine? I'm currently at level 21. I have the Crown, Platinum Ring, star necklace (?) and Courage Badge. I also have the Hell Branch, but I'm doing zero damage to the boss. What should I upgrade? Does the staff level matter? "Because if it does, my staff level is only 4, but my dual blades are already at 19.

I've tried staying away from it whenever it unleashes its attack, then striking while it's do a push up, but seriously, I'm doing zero damage. I even brought my tree monster (level 26–27, one of them is level 36), but it still doesn't do a thing. I need some tips.

Need some advice about loss weight

I need some advice

I just gained 10kg due to stress. Is there a way to lose it again?

Previously, I tried workout routines or aerobic exercises on YouTube (I can't go to the gym, and jogging might be rare for me too). I used treadmill when I still at my parents house when it college break, but for some reason, I feel like my weight isn't dropping at all. Exercising also seems quite hard for me because I suddenly get weak/dizzy (I have low blood pressure). What am I deficient in that causes me to feel this weak? Skipping meals isn't an option either because I have acid reflux. I need some tips.

Are there foods that can help me lose weight without requiring complicated cooking? I don't really have a proper kitchen in my dorm, and space is limited because I have a lot of stuff—boiling an egg is probably the most I can do.

When playing HM/SoS/RF, at what moment do you feel like you need to "take a break"?

Taking a break here doesn't mean stopping because you're done playing for the day to sleep, eat, etc. It's more about that moment where you feel like, "I need to stop playing for a while." Maybe because of burnout or something else. And if that's happened to you, how long did it take before you finally came back and picked it up again?

I'll go first: I stopped playing Magical Melody for a bit because, for some reason, walking around the town started making me feel dizzy. (The map is still confusing for me). Still plan to continue it but idk when.

Note: Just curious and for fun, guys! I am a lil bit bored

Why do even the most popular anime of all time have oversexualized female characters and terrible writing for them?

It might be controversial, but it feels like the most popular anime almost always include these kinds of things.

I don't even know how to feel about the female character designs in One Piece.

Even in Naruto, they made Sakura keep simping for someone like Sasuke. And what do you mean Karin still loves Sasuke after everything that happened? Like, come on.

I watched Fairy Tail before. Yeah, the story was fun, but they kept sexualizing Lucy and Erza. I really liked Erza because she felt like a genuine "strong woman" character, only to end up seeing her wearing ridiculous, barely-there outfits and other sexualized stuff.

My Hero Academia is also good, but since they are all minors, I don't get why Yaoyorozu needs to be that revealing. (I know it's because of her Quirk, but couldn't they have just come up with a design concept that didn't require her to be so sexualized?) And Mineta is disgust me.

Even Doraemon does this! Come on, Shizuka is literally the only girl in that friend group—AND A MINOR—and she still gets sexualized? Why are there even scenes showing her naked? I also hate how, after all the perverted things Nobita does to her, she still ends up marrying him when someone like Dekisugi is right there.

It might be a lot of people's favorite anime, and you could say it's considered quite legendary for some of them, but I just can't stand it—especially considering some of these characters are literally minors and get oversexualized so much. In the end, maybe it's just not for me and I'm not the target audience. I can acknowledge that most of them have really good stories, but maybe it's the unnecessary fanservice that makes me feel like I just can't bring myself to watch them. I never thought some of these anime were "that great" like peoples said because of that.

I take Harvest Moon spouses WAY too seriously

It’s not actually important, but sometimes I think it's kinda silly cause I really take Harvest Moon very seriously for the spouse (btw, it maybe kinda long). No pressure to answer if you'd prefer to skip this!

So I always play as boys and girls (when same-sex marriage wasn't a thing yet). And I always told myself that I am going to ONLY choose one spouse, so it's like, One Wife and One Husband. So I am going to be LOYAL to that spouse and I will always choose them even though I replay the game. So whenever before starting the game, I already choose who I want to be my spouse later, and it's always easy to do in the past cause it's always love at first sight for me.

But then, there are multiple series that have the same characters, right? Say like HM DS, HM 64, BTN, FOMT, and others if there are any. They have the same marriage candidates and the same MC, whether it's Pete or Claire. The first Harvest Moon I ever played is BTN and I married Ann. Idk why, it's literally love at first sight for me and I love her so much more than anything. Then I played as a girl and married Cliff, cause I also love him very much.

Then I played another Harvest Moon like HM 64. And of course, because I always think "I need to be loyal", I was planning to marry Ann again. But who would've thought, I fell for Maria instead. At first I was like, "OMG, is this okay tho? I feel like I am cheating on my wife", especially since the main character looks the same as in BTN. But at that time, I was thinking like... I will just consider each Harvest Moon as a different timeline, so just pretend I never married Ann somewhere else. It's actually also because I don't want my poor boy Cliff to leave (I know he will leave if I marry Ann).

And then I also did that in other games, like in AP and ToT where I married different spouses, even though the characters are actually the same. They somehow have different personalities between the two games. I played AP first, and married Luna and Chase, and in ToT I married Anissa and Gill instead. Basically, I only choose one spouse for each gender per game.

Then the SOS FOMT remake came along, and I can say I was actually happy because they brought back the Mineral Town people. Okay, so listen. What I was planning to do was the same: ONLY choose one wife and one husband. But this time I played as my own gender (I love both genders, so of course it’s going to be harder to choose now that you have more options). Well, because this one is kind of similar to BTN, I wanted to choose my wife from BTN days, so I decided to marry Ran (Ann). Her design is even more beautiful than before, and her personality somehow made me fall in love again. And Cliff also still looks awesome like he used to, so I aimed for both of them. Maybe make two different save files to marry them, or just replay the game and marry one of them, so it's still going to be one wife and one husband.

BUT, tbh, I can say I really miss my other spouses from Mineral Town, and I also miss Maria from HM 64 (it's Marie in SOS FOMT). And tbh, I also thought Gray was cute back then, but now in the FOMT remake he became way more attractive?! (Everyone is attractive OMG)

So.... eum, you know, I kinda want to make another save file and marry Marie and Gray, but like I said before, I am trying to be LOYAL to my spouse for each game. I feel like, "if it’s going to be Ran and Cliff, it should always be Ran and Cliff" (in FOMT Remake). I know in other games I married different spouses, but those were different games with different timelines. SOS FOMT remake is in one timeline, and I feel like I'm cheating if I have multiple spouses across different save files. I know some people play multiple save files and marry different spouses in one game, and I'm not saying it's weird, okay! It's just, idk, I take it way too seriously even though it's only a game and not that serious.

And another reason is, I actually like to draw and make fanart. I have an art account and I've been thinking of making it a mostly Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons / Rune Factory fanart page. I wanted to make a special edition where I draw my character with the spouse I married in each game I’ve played. Technically, I could make 2 parts or more of the fanarts for ONLY the SOS FOMT remake edition if I really insist on marrying spouses other than Cliff and Ran—like in post part 1 is Cliff and Ran, and the second part/playthrough is Marie and Gray. But idk, it still bugs my mind because in other games I was literally ONLY LOYAL to my one and only wife and husband, but in the SOS FOMT remake, it's different, like I literally have more than one spouse... it feels like... cheating? Idk.

I also think, what if it actually "ruins" the "Drawing spouses I've married in each game" series edition? Because for other games, there's only one part of the fanart, but for SOS FOMT alone, it ends up having multiple parts of the post.

I've been thinking about waiting to see if there's any chance for a HM64 remake so I can marry Maria/Marie there, so i can choose staying only for Ran in the SOS FOMT, but what if there isn't one? I don't think they're going to bring back the Mineral Town people anytime soon either, so this remake is my only chance to marry Marie remake version too. (For now, i guess)

Note: Guys, it's actually not that serious! It's just something that's been bugging my mind for weeks because I'm so used to being loyal to my one and only wife and husband (in-game). So it feels so wrong to choose more than one in a single game because of this "need to be loyal" thing and honestly speaking, I'm still thinking about whether I should do it or not. Sorry if this wasted your time, but I'm really grateful if anyone actually read this all the way to the end!

Idk who to pick

I don't know who to choose. I know I can always make another file or even replay the game, but I'd prefer to just pick one character as my spouse (for both genders).

I only make separate files to marry one boy and one girl, so I really can't decide who to choose.

In BTN, I married Ann and Cliff. Idk, I just really liked how cheerful and hardworking Ann was, and how Cliff wanted to work harder.

But in this one, everyone looks gorgeous! Of course I love Ann (Ran) even more now, but... Marie also looks so cute?! And to be honest, I'm still leaning towards Cliff. Or maybe Gray... idk, he was super cute in BTN too.

Guys, who would you recommend? I really can't choose between Ran or Marie and Cliff or Gray

Too burned out to be productive, but being unproductive causes more stress

I’m experiencing massive burnout right now. Somehow it's giving me a severe headache, making me just want to rest all day—but resting like this makes me feel unproductive.

I’m an overthinker and I also deal with anxiety. I don't go outside because I don't have friends in real life (I only have online friends). It's not that I don't want to socialize—I already tried, but the experience was really bad, so I’ve chosen not to hang out for now (I'm still in college, but I'll try again after I graduate). As a homebody and an introvert, I don't usually mind this. Whenever I feel bored, I play games or draw, which serves as a form of "therapy" for me.

Recently, though, I've hit a wall with severe burnout because college is about to start again soon, and the college environment feels like a nightmare. There are so many assignments, and I keep worrying about the future. Now, I can't even enjoy playing games or drawing anymore. So... I don't know, I just sleep more hoping I'll feel better, but I don't feel any better.

What do I need to do? Thinking about it only makes me more anxious. It just keeps repeating in a loop: feeling unproductive stresses me out, but being constantly stressed keeps me stuck like this.

ToT and AP Candidate Marriage

Is there any difference between the candidate marriages in ToT and AP? (Besides the fact that we don't have the Harvest Goddess, Harvest King, Witch, and Wizard in ToT). I know they are basically the same characters, but are their personalities similar too?

I played AP first and haven't played ToT yet, but I want to give it a try. I married Luna and Chase in AP. I like Luna's personality in AP, but is she still like that in ToT? All I know is that she's shorter and actually looks like a child (which makes me hesitate). I'm also thinking of giving other candidates a chance too, since their personalities might be different.

Did you marry the same candidate in both ToT and AP? If you chose someone else, what was your reason?

Edit: By the way, should I still choose Luna in ToT, then? I know perspective is subjective, but I always choose who to pursue right at the start of the game. Otherwise, I'm considering choosing Anissa and Gill in ToT instead.

Do you ever sacrifice your feelings for your "spouse" for the sake of something else?

Do you ever sacrifice your feelings for your spouse for the sake of something else?

For instance, in Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town, I always married Ann—even in the remake, I still married her. But on the other hand, I also married Cliff. I really love both of them, and I remember trying so hard back then to make Cliff stay. In Harvest Moon 64, I actually wanted to marry Ann again, but then I found out that Cliff would leave if you married her. So I didn't do it, I didn't married her. Yeah, I know Ann and Cliff don't have the best marriage life if they both get married (if I'm not mistaken), but I just really didn't want Cliff to leave.

Note: Well, maybe it's also time I actually give the other marriage candidates a chance

Sometimes i felt sad

I really love these games, I really love them, whether it’s HM, SoS, or even RF. I love them so much that sometimes I get sad by myself.

Sometimes the reason I get sad is because it's the type of game that you can finish. Sometimes I wonder what I would do next if I already finished one of the series. Yep, I can play another one, or maybe replay the old one, but I don't know, sometimes I'm just not feeling it.

I also play other games, but I can say HM/SoS/RF have my heart. And I'm actually Gen Z (just turned 20), and sometimes I feel like many people my age don't really know these games. I actually found out about them from my Millennial older sibling. I don't really know where I can talk about these games, and sometimes I think they don't really have a big fandom.

Are there any other Gen Z here who know and maybe play these games too?

Does anyone else prefer playing series over the recent ones?

Does anyone else find themselves way more interested in going back to the older Harvest Moon series rather than playing the recent releases?

For context, by "recent" I mean games from Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town onwards (definitely not talking about Trio of Towns—that one is amazing!). It’s a similar feeling with Rune Factory for me, I really love the older series, but I'm just not sure how to feel about the newest ones.

Is it just nostalgia, or did the older games hit differently for you too? What are your thoughts?

Festival dates: Do you stick to your marriage candidate or pick whoever?

When playing Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or Rune Factory, do you always invite the character you're actually planning to marry to the festivals? Or do you just go with whoever, for fun, without strictly focusing on your intended marriage candidate?

I seem to recall that in Trio of Towns, there’s a Dance festival where you can go with pretty much anyone. The same goes for the Seaside Light Festival in Rune Factory 5, where you can invite whoever you want as well. So you can actually pick anyone instead of the candidate marriages—or have you ever invited a different marriage candidate instead?

Also, if you plan on having multiple save files to marry different characters and end up with a lot of candidate marriage options, how do you decide who to pick for a specific festival then?

Who did you marry in each game?

Maybe this isn't that important, but I want to show you the marriage candidates I've chosen in a few games I've played, as well as the ones I plan to play soon. Just for fun tho! Can you see that pattern?

Already Played:

  1. Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Ann and Cliff

  2. Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley: Dia

3.Harvest Moon: Animal Parade: Luna and Chase

  1. Harvest Moon: Magical Melody: Dia and Kurt

  2. Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns: Kasumi and Yuzuki (I didn't actually reach the marriage part, but I pursued Kasumi at the time. Before that, I pursued Komari until Kasumi finally appeared. For boy, I choose Yuzuki.

  3. Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town: Ran for bachelorette and Cliff for bachelor.

  4. Rune Factory: Frontier: Rosetta

  5. Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny: Violet and Bismark

Soon to Play (I've already kind of decided who I want to marry):

  1. Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility: Anissa and Gill (I played the first 30 minutes, and Anissa was the first woman I saw, which caught my attention—same with Gill. I feel a bit bad because in AP I picked Luna and Chase, but maybe it's okay to choose a different spouse here. Plus, Luna actually looks a bit like a child in this one).

  2. Harvest Moon 64: Maybe... Maria?

  3. Story of Seasons (3DS): Probably Licorice... or maybe Elise? Leaning more towards Licorice, though. As for the boys, it's between Raeger, Fritz, or Mistel (I really can't decide!).

  4. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life: Celia or Lumina for bachelorette (but kind of learning more towards Lumina) and Matthew for bachelor.

  5. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town: Linh for bachelorette and Iori for bachelor.

  6. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar: June or Kagetsu for bachelorette (still not sure, but I was more drawn to June at first) and Jules for bachelor.

  7. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma: Hina for bachelorette and Fubuki or Mauro(?) for bachelor (I can't decide between this two yet).

  8. Rune Factory 5: For the bachelorettes, it's either Scarlett, Beatrice, or Ludmilla (at first glance, Scarlett caught my eye, but I'm still not sure). For the bachelors, Martin.

I also want to try Rune Factory 4 and HM: The Tale of Two Town, but i haven't decide yet, maybe i update it later

Can you see the pattern? Btw, I'd also like to see your spouse choices from each game—maybe we can guess and see a pattern there too!

Note: If you've played any of these games, since there are a few candidates I'm still torn on, could you give me some recommendations from my shortlist if you don't mind? Thanks!
