Operation "feed chickens all year" is in full swing.
We plowed and planted 2 more fields, Sorghum and rapeseed. We'll see how long we can keep the chickens fed next year. Also, great news. The harvester we rented last year was back. We said we were interested in buying it off him and we came to an agreement over a fair price. The harvest really is the best tile of the year. And the apples are doing great also.
Cod in puff pastry.
Poached cod and leek in puff pastry. Made sauce with the broth from the fish.
The harvest team this year.
Rostselmash NOVA 330.
Deutz -Fahr AgroStar 6.61 paired with a Joskin 12000B.
Zetor 5545 paired with an unbranded small one axle trailer.
The harvester we rented last year was not available so we had to rent a bigger (more expensive) one. A Rostselmash NOVA 330, nice machine, so we'll be done faster.
Trip to the garbage dump after selling some silage.
A friend of mine had some garbage that had to be taken to the dump, we had some old tires that had to be tossed so the Joskin was pretty full. The Deutz handled it, of course, like a champ.
Second cut on the small grass field.
Three more bales done.

My commute.
I love the fields and scenery this time of year.
How you like them apples
Another good harvest from our orchard.
Question: if you only have one barn, what do you store in it? Equipment, vehicles, produce?
I currently only have this one barn. I store my tractors and other farm vehicles, pallets of seed, lime and fertilizer and the lime/ferth spreader and the potato planer here. Almost all of the rest of the equipment gets stored outside in the rain and snow. What are your storage solutions in your playthroughs?
Baling hay on our New Lands Farm.
The weather has been exceptional this spring so we got good grass to hay. The little Zetor has been an absolute trooper, excelling at every job we give it. The Hesston bales were made by the big Deutz, because it's a bigger baler. The empty field next to this one will be planted with sorghum to feed the chickens.

Year three planting potatoes.
The coldest period is behind us, time to plant some potatoes. We have to reach our goal of 25.000l we set out for ourselves a few years ago. We expanded the field a few times but it's almost to the maximum size for our small equipment. Our neighbouring farmer is hauling water for us because he stores some equipment on our farm.

Slow days on New Lands Farm.
This is the current stable here at New Lands. The Zetor with the front loader is stored here by a neighbor farmer who comes out to help here sometimes. It's winter here so not much to do. The farmers market is closed this month due to too much snowfall so the eggs have to be stored for now.
Part 2. Riding home from work.
Strictly not the shortest route home but not very much longer.
